NewDay Praise Worship - 9:50 a.m.
Celebration
Rev. Elizabeth Gilbert Acts 3:1-10 Celebrations are an important part of our lives. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other important days. We throw parties, take pictures, give flowers and gifts; we eat special cake, and go to our favorite restaurants. These special times remind us of the past and bond us together for the future. We also celebrate holidays like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. These celebrations are marked by time away from work, special events and activities, laughter and play. We picnic, parade, barbecue and shoot off fireworks. We spend time with family and friends. Such celebrations lift us from the routine of our lives. Every Sunday is a celebration. Worship is a celebration that celebrates what God has done, praises God for what God is doing now, and lifts up God for all that God will do. Worship is a celebration. Let’s party!

Are you ready for Christmas?
G
enerally, when asked that question we think of baked goods, decorations, gifts, etc. But let me restate the question with a different emphasis. Are you ready for Christmas? From the makers of “The Easter Experience” comes a highly cinematic film that will help make Christmas much more than a holiday. As the story of the birth of Jesus unfolds, you will be reminded that the Christmas holiday is more than just a commercialized, secularized event. Instead, it is an opportunity to remember that what happened then changes everything now. Each episode of “The Christmas Experience” led by Kyle Idleman will focus on how God chose each individual in the Christmas story for a specific purpose. You will watch as Joseph leads his family with selfless faithfulness, as Mary follows obediently God’s plan for her life, and as shepherds struggle with doubt as they wonder if this really could be the Savior. Join the Friday Morning Bible Study beginning Nov. 4, 2016, at 9:45am for the first of a six-week study examining the Christmas story in detail, helping us to prepare our hearts and minds for the Christmas season.
