NewDay Praise Worship - 9:50 a.m.
A Pastoral Response to the Recent National Election Rev. Elizabeth Gilbert Hebrews 12:14-15
Stress — just the word may be enough to set your nerves on edge. Everyone feels stressed from time to time. And many of us have been especially stressed by the recent election cycle and the days following. As citizens of the United States we are called to care about and participate in the political process. It is a right, a privilege and a responsibility that is ongoing even after an election period. As citizens of heaven, we have responsibilities, too. Those responsibilities are also ongoing, pervading not just our civic life, but every arena of life. In the recent national election we decided who the next president of the United States will be. As Christians, the decision is about what kind of people we will be for each other, our communities, our country and the world. The choice has nothing to do with party, affiliation or ideology. For us, it’s all about Jesus.
