Some people can concentrate on an important phone call with other loud distractions in the background. Others can focus on the televised big game and seem to be oblivious to family conversation around them. Have you ever been listening so intently to one thing that you miss another? It’s referred to as “selective hearing”. It can help when we’re required to focus on something important. It can hurt when we screen out something helpful. How do you hear God? Are you listening? Is God’s a voice you have “filtered out”? How can we recognize God’s voice in a world full of loud and insistent distractions?
