joining B.C.’s health-care workforce

Physicians and patients may soon have another resource in health care as consultation begins on bylaw changes to enable physician assistants to work in emergency departments in British Columbia.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC), in consultation with the Ministry of Health, has posted the proposed bylaw changes online for public consultation and feedback within the next seven days. If approved, the amended bylaw will allow physician assistants to practise in emergency departments under the direction and supervision of physicians and will require them to register with the CPSBC.

“The Ministry of Health has been working with the College of Physicians and Surgeons to introduce physician assistants into B.C.’s emergency departments,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. “This will support health-care workers to provide services to patients and help patients access the services they need as we continue to build out team-based care across the health-care system.”

Physician assistants work under the direction and supervision of physicians to provide a broad range of health services, including performing patient exams, ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, managing treatment plans, and advising patients on preventative care and optimal health practices.

“The College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. is pleased to be asked to license and regulate physician assistants,” said Dr. Heidi Oetter, registrar and CEO, CPSBC. “Physician assistants working in emergency departments will increase the workforce that provides emergency services and improve access to care for patients.

The college joins its peers across Canada including the colleges in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta in licensing and regulating physician assistants.”

There are currently three physician-assistant training programs in Canada and training generally takes 24-months. Graduates are then eligible to write the certification exam from the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada to practise in the country. It is estimated that there are approximately 30 to 50 physician assistants living in British Columbia.

Expanding the scope of health-care professionals is part of the B.C.’s Health Human Resources Strategy. The strategy supports patients by ensuring they get the health services they need and are cared for by a healthy workforce. It focuses on 70 key actions to retain, recruit and train health-care workers, while redesigning the health-care system to foster workplace satisfaction and innovation.

Actions taken to build out team-based care for patients around British Columbia include the recent licensing of associate physicians, the expanded scope of practice for pharmacists to prescribe for 21 minor ailments, the tripling of nurse practitioners, the new payment model for family physicians, the new collective agreement with nurses, the building of a second medical school at Simon Fraser University, the increase of 602 new nurse training seats in B.C. and the building of primary-care networks.

Letter to the Editor

Canada's rich cultural diversity encompasses various ethnic backgrounds and religious traditions, with children from backgrounds such as Muslim Syrians, Catholic Filipinos, Sikh Punjabis, and Protestant Africans contributing to this tapestry; however, concerns arise over the potential insult to these heritages due to government actions, paralleled by Mohawk Canadian Professor S.J. Masson's comparison to colonial ideology and the Residential School tragedy, especially in the context of a lack of cultural and religious respect within the SOGI curriculum.

The debate over 'gender identity' education for young children, emphasizing inclusivity by advocates and raising concerns by critics regarding its impact on young minds, has gained significant attention, notably exemplified by incidents at Rocklin Academy in California, where a child's distress followed a teacher's reading of "I am Jazz," a book about a transgender child, and another kindergartner expressing a different gender identity than their birth sex.

The complex landscape of this debate includes considerations about gender dysphoria's reduction after puberty, concerns about supporting childhood transitions, a notable surge in diagnosed gender dysphoria cases in recent years, and suggestions from leading researchers that a social contagion of gender dysphoria may be occurring among children; furthermore, gender dysphoric children often exhibit characteristics such as a higher likelihood of autism, adoption, or same-sex attraction, further complicating the issue.

The discussion also extends to medical interventions for gender dysphoric children, encompassing interventions like interrupting normal pubertal development, hormone therapy, double mastectomies, genital reconstruction, and potential sterilization,

which raise concerns regarding their long-term physical and psychological effects.

In response to these concerns, organized protests have emerged, seeking to raise awareness about issues related to 'gender identity' education. Protesters are scheduled to gather at specific times and locations:

· Tuesdays: 12-2 PM in front of city hall.

· Wednesdays: 5-7 p.m. at the corner of Clearbrook and South Fraser.

· Fridays: 5-7 p.m. at the corner of Clearbrook and South Fraser.

· Saturdays: 5-7 PM at the corner of Clearbrook and South Fraser.

In conclusion, the multifaceted and emotionally charged debate surrounding 'gender identity' education for young children persists, with proponents emphasizing inclusivity and understanding, while opponents voice concerns about the potential consequences and appropriateness of introducing such concepts at an early age. This conversation remains dynamic, reflecting society's ongoing grappling with the complexities of this critical issue.

How to switch your account to a new bank

(NC) Are you considering switching banks? Maybe you found a better deal somewhere else? Here are a few things to remember when transferring bank accounts:

Identify your automated transactions

Before making the switch, identify all your automated transactions. Review your transactions over the past year to identify pre-authorized debits and direct deposits, including those related to your work, pension and benefits.

Transfer your funds to your new account

Most banks have processes in place to help you with transfers. This may include wire transfers, Interac e-transfers and bank drafts. Ask your bank about the best way to transfer your funds to your new chequing and savings accounts.

Set up your direct deposits and preauthorized debits

Provide your creditors and service providers, such as hydro and internet,

with your new banking information for any pre-authorized payments. Also ensure that your employer or pension and benefits providers have your new information. Make sure you have the funds in your new account in time to cover your upcoming payments. This may help you avoid unexpected consequences, like interest and penalties for missed payments.

Alia’s startling revelation

Actress Alia Bhatt, one of the most successful and popular actresses in Hindi film industry, has delivered some acclaimed performances. In a recent interview, the Raazi actress revealed that her first celebrity crush was not Ranbir Kapoor but another actor whom she has previously worked with. Asked specifically the name of the celeb, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress named Shah Rukh Khan. Both SRK and Alia have worked together in the past in Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi. The former also made a special appearance in Alia and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra. And, they also collaborated on Darlings, Bhatt’s debut movie as a producer. Earlier, in an episode of Koffee with Karan, Alia had

appeared with King Khan where she praised him. She said: “Even if I was dating anybody, it’s okay to find other men attractive; especially, if the man is Shah Rukh. Since I’ve known him, I have always loved him.” Karan added, “I know. You have been crushing over him since the beginning.”

Rakul shares her ‘once in a life time experience’

Actress Dia Mirza, who was recently seen in Made in Heaven season 2, has opened up about how she has become a ‘part time actor’ and feels the industry doesn’t recognize her strong dedication to being an artiste. the RHTDM actress said, “When you are a full time activist, then you end up being a part time actor. But having said that, the truth is that

nothing gives me more joy than being a part of storytelling that can affect change. And I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have been coming along.” She added, “So the activist in me is even satisfied with the stories I managed to be a part of. I don’t know whether the industry really recognises the fact that I care deeply about being an artiste.” The Bheed

actress continued, “I feel I have so much to give, you know, my life experiences, the kind of extraordinary human stories that I get to witness and appreciate and empathize and understand. All of that contributes to the actor that I am. And I’m always raring to go and I have so much to offer. I just wish more people would cast me, quite frankly.”

Actress Rakul Preet Singh has spoken about her upcoming sci-fi film Ayalaan, which she went on to call a ‘once in a lifetime experience’. The R Ravi Kumar movie is a sci-fiextraterrestrial- comedy film which employs a great deal of VFX and highquality CGI. While using CGI in Indian films is nothing new, having a movie with more than 4,500 CGI shots is a new one. Talking about the film, the actress said: Oh, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Because there is an extraterrestrial in the picture, and you know there isn’t one when you’re shooting, but you’re assuming there is. You must shoot it in such a way that people believe the film has an actual alien.” She went on to add, “You’re reacting to a prop, you’re reacting to nothing, and you have to do it convincingly. You must learn to stay on your mark and not deviate since they will use CGI to fill in the gaps around you. So that was a truly unique experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.” The Tamil film, also starring Sivakarthikeyan, Karunakaran, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu, Isha Koppikar, Bhanupriya and Bala Saravanan, is creating quite a buzz, not just for its compelling storyline but also for the groundbreaking use of CGI.

Karan Johar acknowledged that he was willing to overlook abusive comments directed at himself and even derogatory remarks concerning his mother. Yet, he drew the line when it came to his children being dragged into online vitriol. he made the decision to leave Twitter, his twins, Yash and Roohi, were just five years old. Johar explained, “That (quitting Twitter) was an instinctive decision I made when I started reading abuse to my children. When that happened… this is the lowest you could get. Abuse me, say what you want. They also abused my mother. My mother is still an older person. My children were five at that time, when I took the decision. Now, I’m not going back on this platform for anything. Of course, my company is on it. I realise the importance of Twitter. But I don’t want to be on this platform. I don’t want to read anything about my children. That

breaks my heart not only as a parent, but also as a human being.” Karan Johar clarified that his exit from Twitter was unrelated to allegations of nepotism, which have been a topic of discussion in the industry. He emphasized that he has not stopped working with individuals from the industry and that he continues to collaborate with talents like Alia Bhatt. The decision, according to him, solely revolved around protecting his children from online harassment. “It’s not that I’ve stopped casting people from the industry. Or I’ve isolated myself from the sheer wonderful-ness of Alia Bhatt. I have not listened to anyone. I’ve just left a platform. That had nothing to do with the things I was saying. It was about my kids. I couldn’t read that. Whoever is a parent would know that is something you wouldn’t take. You’d take anything, but anything against your child, you can’t take. And I don’t know who to fight, right? They’re nameless, faceless people. I’d rather just exit,” Karan Johar asserted.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who was last seen in Bloody Daddy, recently opened up about his predicament on balancing genres after his debut. In a recent chat, he said that he fought to wear glasses in his blockbuster Jab We Met, which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan. Shahid Kapoor reveals he fought to wear glasses in Jab We Met: “Hero glasses thodi pehenta hai?” Shahid Kapoor reveals he fought to wear glasses in Jab We Met: “Hero glasses thodi pehenta hai?” In an interview with Film Companion, Shahid said, “I fought with everybody. I was like, ‘I want to wear glasses for this,’ and everybody’s like, ‘Are you mad?’ Hero glasses thodi pehenta hai? Tu gaana kaise gayega? (Hero does not wear glasses, how will you sing?).”

Shahid explained it to the makers that he would remove his glasses during the song sequences. However, he'd get a response like, “Are you mad? This is a love story.” The actor further said, “I felt like that will at least help people see me in a different way. Otherwise, I was always looking the same in every film of mine. And then I started making much bigger physical changes because it kind of empowered me to make more decisions. Like Kaminey was my first complete transition from what people were used to seeing me – usually clean-shaven and very boyish.” On the work front, Shahid Kapoor has three films lined up in his pipeline.

Targets released for 10 municipalities to deliver more homes for people

Housing targets for the first 10 municipalities selected as part of the Housing Supply Act have been released, laying the foundation for tens of thousands more homes to be built faster in areas with the greatest needs.

“The housing crisis is hurting people, holding back our economy and impacting the services we all count on,” said Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing. “We’re taking action and working with municipal partners to make sure more homes are built in communities with the greatest housing need. The targets include thousands of below-market rental units for the largest and fastestgrowing communities. This means more people will be able find a home in the community they love.”

To support implementation, the Province will continue to provide local governments with resources to speed up approval processes, including $10 million for continued implementation of the Development Approvals Process Review, and the Province’s work accelerating and streamlining provincial permitting across multiple ministries and developing a new digital permit-

ting process. This is funding in addition to the $1-billion Growing Communities Fund launched in February 2023 and the recently announced $51 million to support local governments in meeting new density initiatives.

The first 10 municipalities were selected for housing target assessment in May 2023 under the authority of the Housing Supply Act, which allows the Province to set housing targets in communities with the most urgent housing needs. The Province consulted with the selected municipalities during the summer to set the final housing target orders. These housing targets are net new units to be completed within five years.

The target orders for each municipality:

City of Abbotsford – 7,240 housing units

City of Delta – 3,607 housing units

City of Kamloops – 4,236 housing units

District North Vancouver – 2,838 housing units

District of Oak Bay – 664 housing units

City of Port Moody – 1,694 housing units

District of Saanich – 4,610 housing units

City of Vancouver – 28,900 housing units

City of Victoria – 4,902 housing units

District of West Vancouver – 1,432 housing units

The housing targets put forward by the Province mark a 38% increase in overall housing to be built in these communities over what was projected to have been created based on historic trends.

In addition to the targets, the Province has sent each of the 10 municipalities a list of housing target guidelines, including a recommended number of units by size (one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom), rental versus owned units, below-market rental units and units with on-site supports. These guidelines include more than 16,800 below-market rentals.

The analysis took into consideration the total number of units that are needed to address the shortage of housing now and to respond to population growth over the next five years, and while the Province encourages municipalities to work hard to meet the total housing need, the targets have been set based on 75% of that municipality’s identified housing need.

“These targets are a step toward creating more homes to meet the diverse housing needs of Saanich residents,” said Dean Murdock, mayor of Saanich. “We are committed to working together with the Province on housing solutions, and welcome their support to help us achieve our goals.”

Municipalities will be evaluated after six months, and every year thereafter, on their progress toward achieving the housing targets and actions taken to meet the target. The Province will monitor progress and work with municipalities to better understand challenges and opportunities.

Don’t overlook these 3 creative home design ideas

(NC) Interior design is a world of creativity. Your home has endless opportunities for expression and personalization. Here, Sharon Grech, Benjamin Moore colour and design expert, shares some commonly overlooked design opportunities to expand your design canvas in creative and bold ways.

Don’t forget about your fifth wall

Found in any room is a fifth and forgotten wall with infinite design possibilities – the ceiling. “Use a shade lighter than your surrounding walls to brighten a room and create the illusion of a larger space,” suggests Grech. For a space with lighter, neutral-toned walls, expand your creativity up high and opt for a bold and rich hue that will draw your guests’ gaze upwards.

Embrace your mouldings

Whether they are plain or feature an intricate Victorian-inspired design, mouldings contribute to a home’s

charm and personality. Often made with wood and painted, updating the mouldings appears to be an under-used interior design hack. “If your walls feature a neutral or light colour, paint the mouldings a deep hue to add dimension and bring appealing framing to a room” shares Grech. “They are also a great way to play with perceived room size. Extend your wall colour onto mouldings to bring an elongated, uniform feel and a sense of expansion to the space.” Add character to your home’s exterior

The change in season brings better weather and reveals new chances to play with exterior design. “Pay attention to an exterior’s potential-rich accents such as front doors, window frames and shutters, garage doors, pillars and sheds,” suggests Grech. “Giving these a fresh coat of colour with an outdoor-friendly paint such as Element Guard can be a time-efficient way to change the look of your home and add curb appeal.”

Mohali, the Unsurpassed Investment Destination for NRIs

Introduction

As India continues to surge forward as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, the real estate sector has emerged as a promising avenue for investors. For Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), particularly those with roots in Punjab, investing in real estate in their homeland not only promises financial benefits but also fosters a tangible connection with their legacy. Mohali, a thriving city in Punjab, is especially making waves as the ultimate investment destination for NRIs.

Mohali as the Region’s Most Promising Real Estate Hub

Mohali has shot into prominence as the region’s most promising real estate hub, surpassing Chandigarh, especially in the realm of commercial real estate. The city’s significant growth in recent years underscores a thriving business environment. Mohali’s steadily growing economic indicators have played a pivotal role in its real estate boom, particularly in commercial and retail sectors.

In a remarkable recovery from the pandemic slump, Mohali has witnessed a real estate boom with substantial sales reported. A testament to this growth is the auction held in January 2022, where GMADA pocketed a staggering ₹808 crore by selling nine major commercial properties. The city’s commercial real estate sector offers abundant opportunities due to high capital appreciation and comparatively higher rentals.

Furthermore, Mohali’s real estate surge is actively driving economic growth by attracting corporates, startups and investments to the state.

Factors Contributing to Mohali’s Real Estate Boom

One of the key factors driving Mohali’s real estate boom is the thriving techdriven industry and the startup ecosystem. Having a Software Technology Park of India (STPI) centre, Mohali has become a hub of IT and IT-enabled services, housing renowned companies like ThinkNext Technologies, ToxSL Technologies, Indi IT Solutions and SQE Labs. Home to a Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC), the city also has a thriving start-up ecosystem with several incubators and accelerators, like Punjab Biotechnology Incubator, supporting new ventures.

Additionally, the manufacturing sector contributes significantly to Mohali’s Gross District Value Added (GDVA) with major players like Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd and Swaraj Trac-

tors setting up their base here. The output of 580-odd large, medium and small scale industries in Mohali is impressive, reflecting its spectacular industrial growth.

The availability of ample land for development is another major factor attracting real estate investors to Mohali. Many ongoing projects like IT City, Education City, Ecocity and mega township projects in various sectors indicate the city’s expansion potential. With Chandigarh and Tier I cities reaching a saturation point, Mohali is poised to become the next hub of development, supported by GMADA’s comprehensive Master Plan for planned urban development.

The presence of an international airport has significantly catalyzed Mohali’s growth. Improved connectivity and accessibility have made it an attractive destination for businesses and investors, further facilitating business growth and expansion. The Airport Road connects Mohali to other major cities in the region, enhancing its appeal as an ideal location for businesses.

Beyond Boundaries: Mohali is the Next Gurgaon in the Making

Mohali is relieving the pressure on Chandigarh in terms of housing and commercial space demand, much like how Gurgaon complements Delhi. Emerging as a knowledge-based economy driven by the IT sector, Mohali is on its way to becoming the next Gurgaon in the northern region. Rapid infrastructure development and a pipeline of commercial and residential projects are set to script a remarkable growth story of this burgeoning satellite city of Chandigarh.

With soaring property prices in Delhi and Gurgaon, entrepreneurs and investors in Delhi and NCR have turned their attention toward Mohali.

Mohali’s Investment Potential for NRIs from Across India

Beyond its magnetic appeal to the Punjabi diaspora, Mohali stands out as an alluring prospect for NRIs from other parts of India as well. The reasons behind this choice are diverse and overwhelmingly convincing. To start with, Mohali has an amenable climate, featuring agreeable winters and temperate summers, thus ensuring a pleasant living experience throughout the year.

Mohali’s exceptional international connectivity, facilitated by its wellconnected international airport and

efficient road networks, also guarantees easy travel and accessibility to different regions.

Furthermore, Mohali’s role as the commercial and industrial epicentre extends not only to Punjab but also encompasses the broader region, including Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Haryana. This strategic positioning makes it a pivotal hub for business endeavors. The city’s thriving economy, driven by sectors like IT, manufacturing, and startups, offers a conducive environment for investment growth.

Mohali’s impressive infrastructure development underscores its modernity, offering world-class amenities and services that harmonise with a contemporary lifestyle. The city’s commitment to education, spanning from primary to higher education, ensures that families have access to top-tier learning opportunities.

Most importantly, Mohali’s unique blend of modernity coalescing with a rich heritage and culture attracts NRIs keen on nurturing their ties with Indian traditions. Punjab’s vibrant cultural milieu, combined with Mohali’s cosmopolitan lifestyle, creates an atmosphere that seamlessly blends tradition and progress. In essence, Mohali is the quintessential destination, not only for Punjabi NRIs but also for non-Punjabi NRIs seeking to establish their second home or make commercial investments in India. Its progressive economy, burgeoning infrastructure and dynamic cultural tapestry make it a promising canvas for NRIs to manifest their investment aspirations.

Economic Indicators Showcasing Mohali’s Growth

Mohali’s per capita income, the second highest in Punjab, has witnessed substantial growth, signifying rising prosperity and purchasing power among its residents. The steady increase in migrant population reflects a rise in employment opportunities and business growth in Mohali. High spending capacity, luxury brands and high-end retail outlets have proliferated in the city. Of particular interest is CP67 Mall, a project of the Homeland Group, which anchors Mohali’s growth and aspirations by providing an ideal setting for businesses to thrive.

Furthermore, Mohali’s real estate boom has created numerous job opportunities, spurring new businesses in the region. The IT sector has experienced impressive growth in IT/ITES exports,

and the influx of businesses and investments has stimulated sectors like retail, hospitality and services.

Homeland Group: Pioneering Real Estate Development in Mohali

A driving force behind Mohali’s real estate growth is the Homeland Group, led by its visionary CEO, Mr. Umang Jindal. Recognized as a rising star in the world of real estate investment and development, Umang Jindal has spearheaded trailblazing projects like Homeland Heights, Homeland Regalia and the latest groundbreaking venture, CP67.

Commenting on Mohali’s untapped potential, Mr. Jindal said, “Real estate is a dynamic and competitive industry. In the current scenario, investors are turning to real estate market in increasing numbers as a lucrative option and safe bet for their investments, considering that the risks are low and the rewards high. The real estate market in Mohali is expected to grow even more in years to come.”

Homeland Group’s projects are known for their innovative design and worldclass amenities, setting new benchmarks in luxury living. The CP67 project, in particular, seamlessly integrates high-street retail, cutting-edge office spaces, premium serviced apartments, diverse dining options, a seven-screen PVR multiplex, and top-notch hospitality, offering a truly world-class experience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Mohali, with its booming real estate market and promising future, presents a golden opportunity for NRIs looking to invest in India. Whether it’s the city’s rapid development, its potential for high returns, or the privilege to maintain a tangible connection with their homeland, the reasons for investing in Mohali are many. As India continues to grow and prosper, there’s no better time than now for NRIs to invest in Mohali’s real estate and be a part of this exciting journey.

However, it is crucial to note that while investing in India, NRIs must adhere to the guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and laws enacted by their adopted country. It’s always recommended to consult a financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

The Patrika Auto Review: 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Edition Something Different.

The famed heritage and nostalgia infused Jeep Wrangler, the brand’s mainstay off-roader enters this model year with just a few changes, mainly in the trim department. To recap the versatile Wrangler arrives in a few variations, a two-door model, a fourdoor Wrangler Unlimited version with more engine selections, including a plug-in hybrid and a V8 engine not available in the two-door Wrangler. Other variations include the more hardcore off roading Rubicon model and the new Willys models.

Major selling points for the Jeep lineup include removable doors and roof, a folding windshield, and an optional Sunrider flip-top for partial open-air driving. Engine options include a 3.6L V6 with s 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque teamed with a six-speed manual transmission with an auto start/stop feature.

There is also an eight-speed automatic transmission with eTorque, a self-charging mild-hybrid system that provides electric assist on acceleration, although there is no EV only mode. Also in the lineup is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine, making 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It comes only with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All trims can tow a maximum of 2,000 lbs

The Jeep excels off-road of course and there are three 4x4 systems available, depending on the trim. Command-Trac is a part-time system

with 2High, 4High and 4Low. SelecTrac is a full-time system that further adds 4Auto, while Rock Trac mode, as used on the Rubicon is available as a part-time or full-time system, and with a low-range ratio of 4:1. The Rubicon also includes front and rear electronic locking differentials.

We tested the Jeep Willys Wheeler package is a trim package available on the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited that offers some retro styling touches and off-roading components. The Wrangler Willys comes in four trim levels — Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys and Rubicon. Styling includes such features as a gloss black grille and bumper appliques, a “Willys” hood decal, deep tint windows, and cloth seats. The package also includes the available removable half-framed doors.

Features also include a black finished dash, Connectivity Group with Bluetooth, Uconnect and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Willys Wheeler package is powered by a 285 horsepower

3.6l Pentastar V6 engine with 260 ft-lbs of torque. This paired with a 6-speed manual transmission (with an available optional 5-speed automatic transmission) and the Command-Trac shift-on-the-fly 4x4 system with 2.72:1 low range.

Off-road features on the Willys Wheeler include a Trac-Lok limited slip HD Dana 44 rear differential, a next generation Dana 30 front axle, 3.73 gears, Rubicon rock rails to pro-

tect the rocker panels, Performance Suspension, and LT255/75R17 Goodrich Mud Terrain TA tires. These combine to provide a “Trail Rated” 8.7 inches of ground clearance, an approach angle of 40.6 degrees, and a departure angle of 37.4 degrees.

The Wrangler two-door holds four passengers to the Unlimited’ s fiveperson seating, and it is a tight squeeze for those two rear-seat folks to get back there. Both models offer the expected off-road ability, but the shorter Wrangler has the distinct advantage in agility and lighter weight on tight trails and has a better breakover angle of 27.8 degrees compared to the Unlimited’ s 22.6 degrees. Depending on the trim and tires, the Wrangler’s (front) approach angle is 41.4 to 44 degrees, and its departure (rear) angle is 35.9 to 37 degrees.

On the road, the Wrangler handles, and drives – well like a Jeep! the over-light steering that is so good for

off-road maneuverability becomes a shade wandering. And although the ride, steering and handling is more controlled t do not expect smooth and quietness Its also a tad noisy with the big tire on the highway. Bu theses are minor niggles or nothing at all to the legions of Jeep fans

The sheer fact you are driving a Jeep means even a five-minute run to the grocery store is fun. The Jeeps does of course excel on the trails and out in the sticks where it is off -road performance is excellent. Another highlight - you can spend a day of boonie bashing and still ride back home in relative comfort in the Wrangler. Overall, the current Wrangler is an easy to live with family off-roader that is worth considering. Few come close to the Jeep in terms of its iconic looks, 80 year – heritage and off-road ability. . The various Willys editions adds some spice to the lineup and will

By paying attention to detail you could sort something out much easier than you imagined, especially if it has been bothering you since late August. A novel way of dealing with it can come to mind. As a result, you can feel you are finding a way around pressures somebody else may have been placing upon you, perhaps unfairly.

Some unexpected opportunities can come up and perhaps suddenly that you could feel very pleased about. This can enable you to put things into place in a manner that gives you a solid sense of stability. This can include home and family matters. The only thing you have to mindful of is how this could affect routines already in place.

You can come up with a solution with something you haven’t been quite able to get settled and properly organised as far back as late August. A different way of looking at it or communicating the idea can make all the difference. It might also require some juggling when it comes to things you enjoy but are not necessary.

You could find the perfect thing. Think carefully before spending, whatever the cost as it may not be that necessary. Conversations about what is important to you can go well. Leave no stone unturned, discuss all the details. Getting things in place might take more time and energy than you initially anticipate. It will be worth it.

This is an excellent time for anything associated with work or business, especially if you want to increase your income. You should not hold back when it comes to promoting yourself, though keeping it well balanced and not too much over the top would be of benefit. Your skills could be appreciated more than you expect.

Don’t be surprised if your long-term view changes suddenly. It has likely been difficult to come to a final decision and not necessarily due to yourself since late July. You could see the benefit of letting something go and it can be this that establishes harmony in some way. Spending less could be part of the process.

You could feel you have finally worked out what somebody else is really expecting. It can now place you in a position where you can ask the right questions so that you can fill in the details more thoroughly. Much of your understanding needs to be kept to yourself. Your natural Libran charm, used patiently, will bring you results.

Somebody else could be more generous than you expect when it comes to a situation that suits you or fulfils something important to you. It is also possible that you could be highly recommended in some way. When it comes to obligations attached to any situation with others, it will be up to you to keep them in balance.

You can gain a clearer idea of commitments you are prepared to accept on a daily basis, or with regular routines in your life, especially if they have been all over the place since late August. Your main aim should be to maintain greater equilibrium in the long term. It might mean you will have to be more direct where priorities are concerned.

Some unexpected opportunities can arise that would be enjoyable to pursue and certainly most tempting. Your obligations will not be such that you could take these on wholly and solely. Somebody else might be quite prepared to pay as well. Your natural tendency to put responsibilities first will work out what is reasonable to accept.

kuMB: Dn lfB, irsLqydfrF qoN mwdd, sLuwqrU pRBfvI hovy, iesqrI ksLt, kfrobfr ivwc rukfvt, Xfqrf hovy. sqMbr 17, 25, 26, akqUbr 3, 4, 13, 14 asLuB.

Ideas somebody else has put into place might be worth considering when it comes to the way you would like to structure your own life, especially if you want to create more independence or freedom in some way. It would not be without some hurdles and it might mean lowering expectations in the long term but it could work out in the end.

Discussion with somebody else could get you thinking in a more open manner to what you have considered before. What you cannot afford to overlook in what might be enthusiasm for these ideas, are the things you need to deal with on a regular basis. Saturn in your sign now, will demand a practical approach from you in the end.

Debunking the misinformation and stigma around Type 2 diabetes

Many Canadians have a close friend, colleague or family member that is living with diabetes. It’s estimated 11.7 million people have Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, conditions that prevent the body from making insulin, or properly managing

Truth: Some people with the disease may not experience noticeable symptoms for a long time. Regular checkups and screening are important for early detection.

Myth: Diabetes is not a serious condition

Truth: Diabetes is a chronic condition that can lead to serious health complications if not properly managed. It’s associated with stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, vision loss and nerve damage.

Myth: Once diagnosed, diabetes can be cured

the insulin it makes.

While the number of people living with the disease continues to climb and that costs Canadian health-care system $30 billion annually, Dr. Christine Palmay, a family physician and contributor to digital health-care platform Care to Know, says there continues to be misinformation and stigma about the chronic disease. She worries this may, in part, contribute to the large numbers of undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes cases that are not being identified or managed.

“There are several different types of diabetes and reasons why someone will develop it at different stages in their lifetime,” says Dr. Palmay. “It’s not a matter of eating too much sugar or having a lack of willpower. There is no one common cause that fits with all types of diabetes. However, once we learn more about it, we can recognize symptoms and advocate for our better health.”

The most common misconceptions about Type 2 diabetes:

Myth: Diabetes is always noticeable by symptoms

Truth: Diabetes is not curable, but it can be effectively managed through lifestyle changes and medications.

Myth: Managing diabetes with medication is a sign of failure in controlling blood sugar levels naturally

Truth: Diabetes medications are tools that help to manage the condition effectively and play a vital role in attaining target blood glucose levels.

Myth: Only obese people get diabetes

Truth: While obesity is a risk factor, thin individuals can also develop the condition. Genetics, ethnicity, age and lifestyle are also factors that can affect the likelihood of having the condition.

Myth: Diabetes is caused by eating too much sugar

Truth: While overconsumption of sugar can lead to obesity, diabetes is a complex condition dependent on genetic, lifestyle and other health factors such as high blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
