he City of Mission has begun community engagement for the Mission Waterfront Revitalization Master Plan process. This will direct growth, attract investment and create a vibrant and resilient waterfront community. Avoid any impulsive decisions, especially if they are connected to freeing yourself up in some way. There can be difficulty in getting the facts straight, caused by a lack of information. This may be not so much about what you want to do but what you are allowed to do, based on a situation you find yourself having to deal with.

You can be quite inventive when it comes to dealing with certain obligations. This could also relate to any person in an authoritative position that you might need to deal with. Don’t be too bold on the money side of things though. This is no time to take any risks, as there are too many facets that are not clear. Just have patience.

You will be rather edgy and this could encourage you to say things that are not wise, which you might regret. You could also discover that something hasn’t been dealt with, as it should have been in the past. It is more about correcting it than anything else. It could eventually produce greater long-term stability in a surprising way.

Suspecting that information is being held back from you could be quite correct but you should not focus too much on it. It is far better to concentrate on what you have control of, mainly because you can keep this well balanced, which will produce a sense of harmony. Someone, who is reliable, will emerge at the right time.

There can be difficulty in getting things to go your way, which could be linked to a lack of proper information. You could be attempting to push matters too quickly. Other people are in a strong and stable position as well as quite prepared to use any authority they might have. Those who think they have authority could be a problem.

You have the opportunity to deal with something in a more confident manner than would normally be the case. If there are certain obligations you don’t want to take on, don’t be afraid to refuse. There will eventually be a favourable outcome with anything that you have put work and effort into. You don’t have to meet demands.

You may either need to change plans with a There could be difficulty with a person not

rather be determined to take that direction. You on stable foundations you intend to put in could be surprised to find a particular person place. Don’t allow their behaviour to encourage has similar values and this will be refreshing. you to take risks. Plod along in your own way.

Someone else could be all over the place, making it difficult for you to know where things will head in the future. You need to make up your own mind, especially with any situations you have put time into getting the details right. Be careful that you don’t get left with more work than is fair. They might want you to feel sorry for them.

Don’t waste time in attempting to work out the true intentions of somebody else or what they are expecting from you. You could be quite right when it comes to what you think is the truth but attempting to get an open response is probably impossible. You will enjoy coping with what is necessary, even streamlining things.

Taking risks can cause you more trouble than what it is worth. The slow and steady approach will allow you to put alternative things into place or alter the manner in which matters have been structured for a long period of time. Avoid being stirred up by other people who may do their best to generate tension or aggravation.

There could be little choice but to get on with something that you have left floating for too long. There is a lot you can accomplish but it will be made more difficult if you focus more on what you would rather not do as opposed to what you actually need to do. You will gain a great sense of pleasure once the job has been done.

Home safety efforts heat up this summer (NC) With more regular activity in and around the home, the risk of hazardous home incidents, such as fires and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, may also increase. Here are the top three tips to help you and your family stay safe this summer: Get alarmed. Even if you have alarms, you may not be sufficiently protected. Safety experts recommend installing smoke and CO alarms on every level and in every bedroom of your home. Test alarms regularly and replace the batteries every six months. To eliminate the need for battery replacements, upgrade to 10-year sealed battery alarms. But remember that alarms don’t last forever and should be replaced at least every 10 years. Gear up to grill. Before you fire up the barbecue for your next cookout, position it well away from the house on a flat surface and give it a good cleaning to keep

grease build-ups from catching fire. Equip yourself with long-handled tools to provide plenty of clearance from the heat and flames. Just in case of an emergency, have a fire-extinguishing device on-hand, like First Alert EZ Fire Spray, a compact, lightweight spray can. With no pins to pull or levers to squeeze, it’s easier to handle than traditional fire extinguishers. Just point and spray to quickly put out a developing fire.

LOOKING TO BUY OR SELL? Contact Akash Today!

Make an escape plan. The warm weather makes summer the ideal time to plan and practice a home emergency plan with your entire family. Identify two exits out of each room, including windows and doors. Set a dedicated meeting spot a safe distance from the house and ensure everyone knows to call 911 only after they are safely outside. Be sure to practice your home escape plan at least twice a year, making drills as realistic as possible

SPIDERS CAN SNIFF OUT AND AVOID KILLER ANTS, SFU STUDY FINDS

Meanwhile, people’s fear of spiders has led to the development of many insecticides and other chemical products that claim to repel spiders. But most of them have proven largely ineffective because spiders are able to abandon their webs and rebuild elsewhere. Harnessing the natural chemicals given off by their natural predators could help create more effective repellents for homeowners. Researchers warn against using European fire ants, an invasive species, themselves as pest control.

Researchers tested the theory by exposing filter paper to several species of ants and placing it in a multi-chambered habitat of four different species of spiders. It’s time for Shah Rukh Khan to get back to work What’s on Ileana D’Cruz’s mind?

Shah Rukh Khan made Friday special for his fans as he shared a new picture of himself on social media. Through post, the actor also hinted at him resuming the shoot of his much-awaited film Pathan. In the greyscale photo, Shah Rukh seems to have grown a beard. It also looks like the actor is growing his locks for Sidharth Anand directorial Pathan. Along with the photo, SRK wrote, “They say time is measured in days, months and beards….Time now for a trim

and get back to work I guess…” The Raees actor also wished good health for his fans as he added, “Wishing everyone who is getting back to a bit of normalcy…safe and healthy days and months of work ahead….love u all.” Shah Rukh Khan’s fans have been waiting to see the Bollywood superstar back on the silver screen for over two years now. While they are eagerly waiting for Pathan to release, the makers, YRF, haven’t yet officially announced the project

Ileana D’Cruz appeared to be in weekend mode, The actor may not be seen often on the big screen, but the avid social media user keeps providing glimpses into her daily life with her glammed-up photographs. In an image she posted from a photoshoot, the actress is seen stretching her back as if gearing up to unwind. She is dressed in a stunning ivory cut-out blouse paired with a shirt. "Stretching into the end of the week," she wrote as the caption. Ileana was last seen in the digital film 'The Big Bull' starring Abhishek Bachchan. The film was loosely based on the securities scam of 1992. She will next be seen in 'Unfair N Lovely', a comic take on India's obsession with fair skin. The film is set

against the backdrop of Haryana and features Ileana opposite Randeep Hooda. The film chronicles the story of a dusky woman who faces social prejudice and how she deals with it. The film marks the directorial debut of Balwinder Singh Janjua, who has served as a screenplay writer on 'Saand Ki Aankh' (2019) and 'Mubarakan' (2017). The actor, 33, finds the obsession with fair skin bizarre. “Colour doesn’t define beauty. It is like saying, the sky is not beautiful at night but it is as you get to see stars,” she added.

'Axone' has initiated a conversation about inclusion : Sayaani Gupta Sayani Gupta starrer "Axone" was released a year ago on this day. The actress says the film is path breaking because it has actors from the Northeast who portray experiences that are theirs and that it has initiated a conversation about inclusion. Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor, "Axone" is a comedy about a group of friends, all originally from the Northeast, who get together to prepare a special dish called Axone. While the movie captures the endeavours of cooking the dish in a typical South Delhi neighbourhood, it highlights the issue of racism in a humorous vein. Sayani said: "There is so much that remains undiscovered and unexplored about the Northeast. I do believe that slowly we are emerging from a haze of ignorance to learn more about a region that is a beautiful part of our country."She added: "'Axone' is path-breaking because it has actors from the Northeast who portray experiences that are uniquely theirs. The film has initiated a conversation about inclusion that I hope will lead to more such films." Actress and model Lin

PAGE 30

Laishram, who plays a pivotal role in the film, said that "Axone" has proven that the Northeast doesn't just have amazing food, sporting stars, scenic beauty or great music but also fantastic cinematic and acting talent. She added: "I feel so proud that Nicholas Kharkongor is now considered to be one of the most important pan-Indian directors." Director Kharkonger ensured that the story of "Axone" showed its protagonists in all their complexity as they struggle to make a living, seek and find love, and fight to

protect themselves and each other from the harshness of a metro that mostly treats them as "outsiders". "I know that the film has changed perceptions and that gives me a lot of satisfaction. I hope to see more makers and actors from the Northeast in the mainstream," Kharkonger said.

Ready for the nasty adjectives that I will get : Taapsee Pannu

For Taapsee Pannu, her restrained performance in 'Thappad' (2020) was emotionally draining. Almost 15 months on, she has 'Haseen Dillruba' up her sleeve, which sees her Rani as the antithesis to Thappad’s Amrita. “It was liberating to step into the character of Rani. Amrita was suffocating to play because she was controlled from all directions before she [broke] free. Here, she is not the conventionally good woman. I have played roles that aren’t white (like Badla) but Rani falls in the in-between. I love to portray grey roles; the real joy is in exploring the layers,” says Pannu. The Vinil Mathew-directed film sees her as the small-town Rani, a newlywed who soon begins a torrid affair with Harshvardhan Rane’s Neel Tripathi. Things take a turn for worse when she becomes the prime suspect in the murder of her husband, played by Vikrant Massey. It is not surprising that Rani has the rebellious streak of Rumi from Manmarziyaan (2018) – after all, the Netflix film is written by Kanika Dhillon.

Vasan likes to improvise on set : Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor

So rich and varied are Satyajit Ray’s literary creations that it’s difficult to determine the best of the lot. With 'Ray', Netflix India has revisited four short stories of the master filmmaker and storyteller that study complex human emotions of ego, betrayal, envy and revenge. Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor headlines 'Spotlight', one of the stories in the anthology series, which sees him as a star-actor who finds his popularity threatened from an unexpected quarter. While he admits to being bowled over by the quirky material, the actor adds that director Vasan Bala’s spontaneity elevated the story further. “Vasan likes to improvise on set. So, I was glad to be prepared. I was prepped to the point where I could do anything that he asked, which is why it became [a gratifying experience] for both of us,” says Kapoor, adding that the director’s appreciation for his craft on the first day of the shoot boosted his confidence. “It liberated me for the rest of the experience, and helped me take the leap.” The segment also features Radhika Madan and Chandan Roy Sanyal. Kapoor says that the 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' director shared his love for dark humour, making them a perfect fit for the story. “Vasan let me be myself [in front of the camera]. I remember, there was a scene where I couldn’t stop laughing during the shot, and he simply asked me to keep going.”
