B.C. secures housing for people at risk of homelessness in Abbotsford The Province, through BC Housing, has secured affordable housing for the Many Ways Home Housing Society residents who were facing eviction in Abbotsford. “Our government took decisive action to ensure these residents would not be left without housing and can continue to access the supports they need,” said David Eby, Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Housing. “Everyone deserves safe, affordable housing in the community they call home.”

“Phoenix Society is grateful to be provided the opportunity to support the 19 residents who were at risk of homelessness. We look forward to working with and supporting them toward long-term housing stability,” said Keir Macdonald, CEO, Phoenix Society. “Thank you to the Province and BC Housing for providing this vital emergency funding and for the support provided by the City of Abbotsford in working towards a plan to help maintain housing for all residents impacted by the upcoming dissolution of Many Ways Home

Phoenix Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Education Society will be the temporary operator and is working to ensure a seamless transition in care. Residents will be able to access Phoenix services, such as employment help and connection to health services. Rental agreements will be taken on by the Phoenix Society, which will review property costs, connect with local resident resources and develop a community action plan for long-term tenant sustainability.

Society. As homelessness continues to rise in Abbotsford and across the entire region, we must work together toward ensuring everyone has a place to call home.” BC Housing is in ongoing discussions with non-profit societies to find a permanent operational model for this program and will make further details public once a decision has been made. “The City of Abbotsford is grateful to the Province, BC Housing, and Phoenix Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Education Society for ensuring these valuable services continue to be provided to vulnerable residents in our community,” said Henry Braun, mayor of Abbotsford. “We know that housing is a key determinant of health and well-being, and the city will continue to advocate for these important services to be supported in Abbotsford.”

3 tips for your backyard renovation (NC) As the summer winds down, warmer fall weather is the perfect time to give your backyard a facelift to prepare it for the upcoming seasons. 3 tips to quickly deep clean your living space (NC) We’ve all experienced the panic that ensues when a guest lets you know that they are stopping by and our home may not be as spotless as we would hope. Below are some great tips to give your living space a deep clean in no time. 1. The area behind the couch can be the place of no return for items like hair ties, pet toys and anything else small enough to make its way back there. Along with this, it is a hub for dust bunnies, so get them out before any guests arrive. Move furniture away from the walls to get to the baseboards and give the space around them a quick clean. 2. Open up your curtains and blinds to make everything look cheerful and fresh. But with all the sun shining through your home, any dust or debris on your windowsills will be extra noticeable. Be sure to give the areas a quick dust to make sure any

large particles are removed. Don't forget to clean the inside of the windows to get rid of any fingerprints or leftover dust. 3. Give your floors a deep clean with an effective wet/dry vacuum. The Tineco iFloor 3, which is available at Best Buy, is great for cleaning any hard-sealed floor with no more effort exerted than giving the floors a onceover with a regular cordless vacuum. Turn on maximum cleaning mode to help you get those sticky, stubborn messes. Once done, check out the dirty water tank to see the messes you were completely unaware of.

Involvement with others will increase to the end of October. The more diligent you have been of late in getting things in order, the better you will cope, as you could become rather busy. This is a good time to get yourself known with others but you might also discover you have been recommended. Co-operation will get you further

Your energy level or keenness to get on with details or little things that need to be sorted can improve markedly. You will need to stay focussed on this, one way or another until late October. An expectation that you respond to what others want will be strong until early October. Only do what you can manage and what is fair.

You will want something of pleasure to look forward to. Some sort of limitations on a daily level can make this difficult to plan up to early October. From then until late October there can be more optimism. You could feel a lot of decisions you would like to make are out of your hands. Things are beginning to turn around though.

You are entering the stage, from now to late October, to begin putting ideas you have been toying with since mid September, in place. This can be anything that involves you personally that you have the ability to begin structuring. There can be much to enjoy to early October. Don’t let anybody stand in your way this week.

The needs of somebody else can put you under pressure to early October to get something established that you had not planned. There can be all sorts of distractions to late October, making it difficult to find enough time to relax. If it is necessary to find out information, don’t waste time. You can be very incisive.

Don’t allow somebody else to take you off track. Remain determined about anything you want to put into place. Finances will take your attention to late October. This could also include how you earn your money. If you have taken a balanced approach of late you will be in a good position to make sensible choices.

new 2 year personal cycle. Finances can require a balanced approach to early October, especially if you feel like splashing out on the more pleasurable side of life.

approach with anything you want to put into place or any family matter you want to sort out. In some ways you will feel held back until late October – be patient

You will be keen to get going or to move to the next stage with something you have been working on for the last 9 months. Something lacks clarity. You might need to put ideas forward in stages allowing you to feel your way forward slowly, from now to early October. By then you should be more aware of what you are dealing with.

Clear visions of how you can either transforms your future or what it is that you want from the future would demand complete change from you. This needs to be balanced up with important priorities you already have established in your life. The level of commitment that would be involved should be focussed on up to late October.

It is important to focus on gaining a balanced view, from now to early October, on the responsibilities you are prepared to accept. It will start to become easier to free yourself up, to late October, from demands others may have had towards you since mid September. You do have the inner strength to withstand any battle, so persist.

Dealings you have had with others since mid September may now start to become less open up to late October. This could put pressure on you, to early October, to weigh up what needs to come to an end. Much of this has been generated by a lack of clarity on your part, which could have stirred up confusion. Be straightforward.

For example, your personal injury claim may be that the whiplash and concussion you sustained as a result of an accident left you unable to maintain an active lifestyle without pain and discomfort. The defendant will rely on social media posts showing you engaged in physical activities (e.g., going for a hike, playing sports) to discredit your claim. The defendant will argue that the social media posts prove that you were not seriously injured, or that your injuries are not having a negative impact on your abilities or lifestyle as claimed. To fight back, you should hire an experienced personal injury lawyer. How to Challenge Social Media Posts The use of social media posts in personal injury lawsuits can be challenged in many ways. In addition to challenging its admissibility as evidence, experienced PI lawyers know how to use social media evidence to rigorously cross-examine defence witnesses and experts. Top lawyers are also skilled at minimizing the weight given to social media evidence. This is done first by presenting a compelling case on your behalf, and

The fact may be that you are able to do some things you did previously, but in a more limited way, and that you do not have the stamina for activities that you had before due to the limitations from your injuries.

together. He is somebody who I learnt a lot from and only have love and respect for him.” Bhumi remained tight-lipped about ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which is directed by Aanand L. Rai. “I, unfortunately, can’t (say). As a principle, I don’t talk about any of my films till the makers do but all I can say is it’s been a very heart-warming process for me to work with two people I love so much,” she said. The 32-yearold, who is also an environmentalist, heaped praises on the director. “Anand Sir is one of the nicest and kindest directors. It’s genuinely an experience to be directed by him,” she concluded.

Vidya Balan is like a human dynamo : Iqbal Khan It was a dream come true for popular television actor Iqbal Khan when he was offered a challenging role in a Suresh Triveni-film. Triveni has earlier helmed Tumhari Sulu (2017). But, the icing on the cake was sharing screen space with Vidya Balan. “Although my role is kick-ass, had he asked me to play a lamp post also, I would have,” said the actor, who became an overnight sensation after his television soap Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai became a hit. Jalsa, set to hit theatres in 2022, is a hard-hitting drama that studies the different classes of society, and it is this story that finally sealed the deal for Khan. “It is a powerful, unique and edgy tale of mighty characters and trying circumstances, and Suresh Triveni is too good to say no to,” said Khan, adding, “I always wanted to work with Vidya. Doing a film with her and being directed by Suresh is like sone pe suhaga. Vidya is like a human dynamo. The energy she brings to the sets is unparalleled.”

Instinct very important when you're an artiste : Shweta Tripathi ‘Mirzapur’ actress Shweta Tripathi has revealed that it is the story that draws her towards a project and that as an artiste, it is the instinct that is very important. “Something that has drawn me to the kind of projects I do is the story. I don’t see what the medium is or the platform. If the story attracts me….for example, I said yes to a show, they don’t have a platform yet but I know that this is a story that I want to be a part of,” Shweta said. She added: “Even ‘Mirzapur’, when I read the first two episodes I knew I wanted to be a part of this world because the writing was brilliant.” The

actress, who took the spotlight with her stunning performance as ‘Golu’ or ‘Gajgamini Gupta’ in ‘Mirzapur’, said she had no clue that the crime-thriller would become so popular. “I didn’t know that ‘Mirzapur’ will become the success that it has become but as an artiste your gut and instinct are very important. So, that’s how I choose. It is always quality. What will you do with the quantity?” said the 36-year-old actress.Shweta says her characters have helped her evolve. “And the end result is never in your hands. So, you give it your best, how much your best might be and you give it that much and that journey is the most important because all my characters make me a better person.” “They teach me so much emotionally and about growth. That is the process I am really really enjoying,” Shweta said.
