LITTLE ACORNS CAMP Ages 3-5

Veterans Park Little Acorns Camp will provide an entertaining, safe, and enjoyable environment for your child. Weekly themes will excite your child as we explore nature and learn about the incredible world around us. This camp will feature age-appropriate activities, trail hikes, creative games and crafts to encourage their imagination and development skills! Campers will spend time outdoors and will be able to cool off inside our air-conditioned activity center.

Art Attack Dive into a week-long, hands-on world of art. Campers will explore different mediums of art, while taking our inspiration from around Veterans Park.

Animal Kingdom

Calling all animal lovers! Campers will be visiting the arctic or desert and learn how many different animals learn to strive and survive. It’s going to be a roaring good time!

Campers will explore, investigate, and interact with Vets world of creepy crawlers, by participating in a variety of hands-on activities. Campers will discover the wonder of insects!

Life Let us explore and learn about what swims, grows, and plays in Marumsco Creek. We will explore our other streams and ponds in the park as well!

Our Campers will explore different types of authors on some of the most beloved children’s books. We will read books, make crafts, and have the snacks, that will reconnect them with their favorite authors.

Get ready for a big week down on the farm! We will learn what it takes to be a farmer as we learn all the things that happen on a farm. Our campers will learn how to tend to crops and much more!

This week children will explore their favorite community heroes and learn more about the job they do everyday. From Park Rangers to Police Officers to Firefighters to Doctors, children will make crafts, play dress up and meet a few local heroes.

CYBERTECK ACADEMY CODING AND DESIGN GAMES WITH SCRATCH Ages 6-9

Software: Scratch 2.0 Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate

Introduce your child to the wonderful world of programming! In this class, students will learn basic programming concepts using a simple drag-and-drop interface within the software Scratch, a project developed by the MIT Media Lab. Students will use their imaginations and implement creative thinking, while at the same time learning how to create and program simple games. Use pre made art assets or create your own, and learn how to program them, to walk, talk, and interact with objects. Learn logic and visual programming in order to create simple, 2D Video Game in Scratch 2.

CYBERTECK ACADEMY CODING AND DESIGN GAMES WITH SCRATCH Ages 10-14

In this camp students will learn basic programming and logic flow and learn how to apply those concepts to create games. Using Scratch, a scripting language developed by MIT to give kids an easy entry into coding, students will go through the iterative process of creating a program or game from idea to completion. All campers will have the opportunity tol have several completed 2D games they will be able to play and show off on most computers and will have mastered the skills they need to continue making games using scratch at home.

VETERANS PARK OUTDOOR SUMMER CAMP Ages 6-14

Veterans Park Outdoor Summer Camp will provide an entertaining, safe, and enjoyable environment for your child. Our well trained, creative, and enthusiastic camp staff coupled with our incredible location, Veterans Memorial Park will provide the opportunity for a wide variety of outdoor activities. In addition to our traditional outdoor activities, each camp week has activities related to a weekly theme. These weekly themed activities provide opportunities for campers to learn and experience the magic, adventures, swimming, animals, and much more! Campers will spend most of their time outdoors; however, indoor activities are planned for inclement weather days. In addition, field trips are included. Join us for a week or all summer long! Before and after care is available for an additional fee. Before care is 7:00am-9:00am ($30). After care is 5:00pm-6:00pm ($30).

Skaters will be placed into age/ability groups. Learn or improve on key skateboarding basics and tricks: ollies, manuals, kickflips, and more! Camp also features skate games, park activities, safety equipment tips and contests! From stretching and training to recovery, our instructors give campers the support they need to progress their skills, build self-confidence, and form community through the sport they love.
