Greetings! Thank you for connecting with our virtual Leisure Magazine—Prince William County’s go-to source for all things recreation. While we continue our collective fight against COVID-19, the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism continues to offer safe and convenient ways to help you meet your recreation needs. Connecting people with nature has never been more important and the opportunities for outdoor inspiration are endless in Prince William County. Our natural allure extends from the rolling hills of the Bull Run Mountains to the wooded shores of the Potomac River. Explore our 55-mile network of hiking trails including the Neabsco Regional Park boardwalk in Woodbridge and the Occoquan Greenway at Lake Ridge Park. Meander the hallowed grounds of Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park or catch a Red Shoulder Hawk in flight at Silver Lake Park. See our nature/outdoors section for a full list of programs and robust offering of Science in the Park programs. We are pleased to offer group fitness classes again at the Sharron Baucom-Dale City and Chinn Aquatic and Fitness Centers in addition to general gym and pool use for members by appointment (Registration links on pages 8 & 9.) We elevated our safety protocols significantly. We are utilizing the latest cleaning technology to sanitize all areas within our public facilities on a frequent basis, we spaced out equipment and decreased class sizes, and we are conducting temperature checks prior to entry. We anticipate re-opening to Sharron Baucom-Dale City pool later this winter once critical repairs to the spa are completed. Drop-in basketball and sports sampler are coming back at the Sharron Baucom-Dale City and swim lessons at Chinn will resume on 1/15. We continue to offer school aged childcare at both aquatic/fitness centers. Check out our Spring Break Camps. We will resume pre-school at our Veterans Park Recreation Center and Grō locations starting in January. Details and registration information can be found on page 16. We are excited to offer some new recreation classes this winter including pilates specifically for dancers and golfers, soccer clinics and more. We have also planned some great family events/activities including Eggtravaganza Fun Spring Crafts and a Mini Mystery Series, CSI. Come out to Dale City winters Farmer’s Market on Sunday mornings between 10-1 for a unique selection of artisan goods and select produce: www.dalecitymarket.com I am grateful for your support as a trusted provider for your recreation needs. Our passionate staff is committed to ensuring you have an exceptional experience at every turn. Please don’t hesitate to let us know via comments@pwcparks.org if we are not meeting your expectations or if you need help finding the perfect recreation opportunity. May you strive to be your best self with Prince William County Parks, Recreation & Tourism as your partner. With Gratitude,
