LUDLOW RACES First race 1.50pm Racing at Ludlow Racecourse. This friendly National Hunt racecourse, often referred to as “Lovely Ludlow” by Radio 5 Live, is just 2 miles north of Ludlow town centre. A great day out for all race fans. According to local legend in the fourteenth century soldiers from Ludlow Castle came here to match their horses. There is certainly a record of racing in 1725. The course retains its Edwardian character and also its strong club atmosphere. Now a National Hunt Course, jumping started in the mid- nineteenth century. The Watoto Children’s Choir are excited to share a brand new production for the 2019 UK Tour: ‘We Will Go’ Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled extensively since 1994, sharing a message of hope for Africa’s orphans and widows. To date, the choir has toured six continents and performed to enthralled audiences in schools, retirement homes, churches, parliaments, state houses and royal palaces. The Watoto Children’s Choir concert is a fundraising event for Watoto. The choir’s members are orphans and other vulnerable children; many of them have suffered the loss of one or both parents and now live in a Watoto village. Accompanied by a team
of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission by sharing personal stories, music and dance. Free

Watch out for the dance of the goats, the flying troll and loads and loads of rubbish! Garlic Theatre creates a magical world to entrance and delight a young audience, with puppets, live music, storytelling and singing. We travel to Sweden where the troll lives happily under his bridge fishing. Nobody knows he is there because he is so shy. The people from the town start to throw rubbish under the bridge and soon there are no more fish in the river. Our troll becomes so hungry that when he sees a goat trip trapping by he tries to eat him and the story
unfolds. What happens to the troll and how is the river cleaned of all the rubbish? Running time approx. 40 minutes

MOTHERS DAY MARKET A special Market for Mother’s Day; held at Ludlow Market in Castle Square A wide range of products sold by over 30 different stall holders. Ludlow has held street markets since the twelfth century. Nowadays, a traditional openair market, managed by Ludlow Town Council, takes place in the town square (Castle Square) every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year. In addition to the regular market,
most Sundays see the market stalls being used either as a Antiques & Collectors Market or for various specialist themes such as books, gardens or crafts.
