DEVELOPING POTENTIAL FOR LIFE St. Andrew’s School was founded in 1937 and is a respected and thriving coeducational Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School, set in 11 acres of grounds near Woking town centre. The School seeks to create a nurturing and happy environment in which all pupils are encouraged and enabled to develop their potential to the full.
At St. Andrew’s children feel secure and confident and are highly motivated to perform to the best of their ability in all aspects of school life. Children are prepared for entrance and scholarship exams to a wide range of independent senior schools and there are specialist teaching facilities for all subjects including science, ICT, music and art. The curriculum is broad and the school places great emphasis on music, sport and the arts. In our latest ISI Inspection, (January 2016), we were extremely proud to be rated ‘excellent’ in all areas.

A LEADING IAPS CO-EDUCATIONAL NURSERY, PRE-PREPARATORY & PREPARATORY SCHOOL In the Pre-Prep department, the creative curriculum enables the children from Nursery to Year 2 to learn through play, adventure, discovery and experience. Transition to the Prep Department is seamless and as children mature they become increasingly independent learners in preparation for the move to some of the country’s leading senior schools.
Hoe Bridge School is set in a perfect location on the outskirts of Woking surrounded by 22 acres of beautiful grounds and is only 25 minutes from London. In the latest inspection, the School achieved a grade of ‘excellent’, something that both the girls & boys and staff are extremely proud of. At the heart of Hoe Bridge stands the stunning 17th century mansion, Hoe Place. Around this mansion, the School has recently undertaken several major building projects to further enhance the facilities. The Pre-Prep department has been completely rebuilt to create more space and light for the younger children and the Nursery offers busy parents the option of five full days. Further projects in the Prep department will also create more space for the older girls and boys.
Alongside the academics sport, music, art and drama play a major part throughout the school and the girls and boys excel in many areas; end of year productions; sporting excellence achieving national success in netball and hockey, county success in cricket, football and hockey; individual musical success in national youth orchestras and choirs and a spectacular annual art exhibition. Scholarships in all these areas are won every year to a variety of schools across the country.
the bright are challenged and the less able supported; we endeavour to instil confidence in all our children. Visitors are amazed how happy the children are, how determined they are to succeed and how much they care about each other. The School has an extremely good reputation and is constantly striving to preserve the family atmosphere, improve results and explore all possibilities for enriching both the School and the lives of the children. n
Senior pupils in Years 7 and 8 take part in regular extra-curricular activities and it is at this stage of their time at Hoe Bridge that they take on extra responsibility becoming prefects and role models to the younger children. The atmosphere of every school is unique and we consider the strength and attraction of Hoe Bridge to lie in the atmosphere here. Standards and targets are realistic, though set as high as possible,

Primary Times Christmas 2018
Wrap up Christmas in style at Tunsgate Quarter ‘Tis the season at Tunsgate Quarter, the most stylish place to shop, eat and meet in Guildford. There’s plenty of time to find that fabulous gift with later shopping every Thursday until Christmas. Pick up charming treats and delightful gifts until 8pm. That gives you more time to explore your favourite stores including Penhaligon’s, The White Company, Bobbi Brown, Lululemon and Cath Kidston. To keep you merry and bright, we’ll have a programme of live music to get those festive spirits soaring under the twinkle of our decorations. Once you’ve finished shopping, it’s time to toast the season and feast on all things merry and bright in one of our restaurants. Cosy Club, The Ivy Castle View and Pho are ready to sparkle with Christmas menus and treats.
If you’re joining us at the weekend, we’ll have a programme of activity every Saturday and Sunday afternoon until Christmas. Strike the harp and join us for a host of live entertainment including choirs, musicians and singers. Rock Choir and So Sinatra are just a few of the names you can expect to see. Since its successful opening in March, Tunsgate Quarter is home to a wide range of lifestyle shops and restaurants, including The Ivy Castle View, Nespresso, Loaf, Oka, Penhaglion’s, T.M. Lewin, Clarks, The White Company, Cath Kidston, Seasalt, David Clulow, and Pho. Find out more about Christmas at Tunsgate Quarter at TunsgateQuarter.com
