Aleksander Lasoń (*1951) Studied composition under professor Józef Świder at the State Higher School of Music (now the Music Academy) in Katowice. He used to be active as an improvising pianist and over time devoted himself to composing. His early compositions are vital, full of colours and very optimistic. With time his music takes on more and more of deep expression, tons are darker and dynamics gains power. He prefers pure, absolute forms.
