Digital fluency

Through our Junior School Digital Technology program, girls are equipped with skills to become confident users of digital technology and positive digital citizens.

Each girl in Years 3 to 6 will have age-appropriate access to enriching digital learning opportunities, through their College-provided iPad.

Girls use the iPad as a technological platform to create, think and learn, adding digital pens and keyboards so their creativity can flourish intuitively.

They learn to use digital tools for drawing, photography, video and music, supported by teacher led classroom resources to support girls in learning responsible use of technology in a safe environment. Over time, girls gain responsibility and experience with their digital tools and gradually from Year 5, can take their iPads home.

Through moderated internet access and curated online learning resources, girls will learn to become confident and competent with iPads in a formal learning environment and through gradual increased responsibility, will incrementally become a more responsible digital citizen in a monitored context.

Coding and Computational Thinking is embedded in the curriculum through “unplugged” activities, Apps and interactions with physical coding devices.
