The rebrand went into effect in the summer of 2014 and had been completed by October. The rebrand from American Medical Depot to AMD was the end result of a yearlong effort to capture the company's renewed focus on innovation and customer service. In addition to the new name, AMD has also completely made over its website. The company says the new site will make shopping easier and more productive for its customers. There are more than 350,000 products available to customers on the AMD site, which serves thousands of healthcare professionals. AMD customers include some of the nation's leading academic medical centers, hospitals, and independent home health care providers. The company says that AMD customers will still see the same services and representation as before, and will have access to the same account representatives, and the same account information, including logins. Aside from the new name, website and tagline, there are no significant changes to the company. "We have not been acquired," said Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Sukrit Agrawal. "American Medical Depot has the same great team of leaders that our customers have come to know and trust. We have even strengthened our online presence to continue providing you with the very best products and services available in healthcare distribution." Sukrit Agrawal added that the new website continues American Medical Depot efforts to provide the company's online customers the clearest and most modern interface. "Based on our customers' needs and feedback, we have elevated how our customers do business by an easier browsing and shopping experience. We're confident our customers will appreciate the flexibility and resources the site offers." Brothers Sukrit and Akhil Agrawal founded AMD in 1993, and in the years since they have built it into one of the largest diversified healthcare supply distributors in the United States. AMD employs nearly two hundred people, and has offices and distribution centers across the country. Company officials say the focus of AMD, formerly American Medical Depot, is on innovation, as it always has been. But they add that the company's commitment to understanding the needs of its partners will continue to fuel its growth. During its yearlong rebranding effort, AMD worked closely with its customers to built a brand that reflected their needs and expectations by identifying success stories, day-to-day experiences and most importantly, the areas where AMD could improve to better serve its customers.
