Butch Walker Wife Nora - Counting Their Blessings Butch Walker says he was reluctant to cooperate with a documentary film about his life and career, but as a fan of the documentary form, allowed himself to be talked into it. "It just so happens that a couple of chaps named Peter and Shane followed me around and filmed my every move, and decided they wanted to make a documentary film," he wrote on his website. The two filmmakers are Peter Harding and Shane Valdes. "At first, I was skeptical because well...It's narcissistic as shit, but they tricked me into thinking it was gonna just be a piece on me and the Black Widows making our last record The Spade. Turns out they just kept on shooting after that‌ For a year. They somehow convinced me to let them put it out, so here goes nothing..." The result is a documentary called Out of Focus, which premiered at the Nashville Film Festival. As Butch Walker and wife Nora know, there is a bit of time for a personal life, but is very married to his career. Critics have said that the documentary hits on all levels and should appeal to his fans and to documentary lovers alike. For the initial screens of the film, Butch Walker played a concert afterward. There is also a new Butch Walker album due out. Afraid of Ghosts, on the Dangerbird record label. He says that the theme of the album is coming to terms with the past, and living for the future. One of the most heartfelt songs on the album is called Autumn Leaves. "I am feeling lots of mixed emotions about this song I have for you to hear," he wrote on his website. "Autumn Leaves is a tune I wrote after an old friend of family passed away from cancer. She was a beautiful soul and great mom and wife to my friend, John. I just hate that I lost touch with them awhile back after moving and didn't get to catch up before she was taken by the light. I sat down and thought about how hard this all must have been for John and couldn't imagine losing a partner, especially when you have kids. I don't know if he would say these words in the song, but I tried to write it from the guy's perspective, at least in my mind." Butch Walker and wife Nora count their blessings every day, and live their lives together in California and Tennessee.
