Dr. Juan Bravo of Florida: A History Dr. Juan Bravo of Florida was born on September 9 th, 1969 to his loving mother and father who reside in Mayaguez Puerto Rico. Dr. Bravo's parents are the ones who directly influenced him to pursue a career in medicine. In fact, Dr. Bravo comes from a long line of physicians on his mother's side, being the fourth generation! Dr. Bravo's mother, and family before her have owned and ran the Clinicia Dr. Perea in Mayaguez Puerto Rico for nearly 100 years, making Juan have quite the legacy to live up to. Dr. Juan Bravo of Florida did just that when he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1991. Then he would go on to continue his education, attending the Ponce School of Medicine, receiving his doctorate in Medicine. While attending the Ponce School of Medicine, Dr. Bravo would excel academically, graduating in the top 10% of his graduating group. During his time there, Dr. Bravo was also involved in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (Honor Medical Society), and established a strong bond with many other professionals within that society, as well as a sense of commonality. Dr. Bravo says that his experiences throughout his education were pivotal for molding him into the man he is today, and that he would not be half the doctor he is without not just the education, but the hands on experiences provided by his colleges. Dr. Juan Bravo of Florida has had a long and remarkable career in the medical field, one that any practicing physician would be proud to be a part of. Dr. Bravo's most recent position has been as much administrative as it is holistic. In 2010, Dr. Bravo became appointed on to the Board of Directors for the American Board of Wound Management. The Board of Wound Management is a voluntary, non-profit organization, which was established for the purpose of credentialing multidisciplinary professionals in the eclectic field of wound management. The ABWM offers three different and distinct certifications that are nationally accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies, or NCCA. This highly accredited institution ensures a standard of practice for wound management that is both uniform and high in quality and safety. Dr. Bravo has always dedicated himself to excellence, especially in the field of medicine. Dr. Bravo takes his position as a doctor and healer with the utmost seriousness.
