Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond’s Impact in Colombia Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond is an international business professional who has years of experience drawing and following through on contract infrastructure projects with companies of other countries as well as their governments. He has done extensive work in the country of Colombia. Below, he shares some of the important projects he worked on in the country. Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond was the Vice President of Infrastructure Project Finance S.A. ( IPF SA) when they landed a structuring deal for a Public Private Partnership (P3) Project as a Private Initiative for the “Boyacá Road Connection” Project. IPF SA was brought on as the transaction advisor to “PSF Vías de Boyacá S.A.”, the private organization that presented the project. IPF’s involvement included the technical, financial, and legal structuring of the project as well as the project’s due diligence. Gobernación de Boyacá was the government body behind this deal with PSF Vías de Boyacá S.A., which had a project value of 83.4 million United States Dollars. Then in July of 2013, IPF’s Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond landed structuring for a P3 Project as a Private Initiative for the “Southern Perimeter Concession” Project. IPF SA was the transaction advisor to “PSF Perimetral del Sur S.A.” the private organization that presented the project. IPF’s involvement included the technical, financial, and legal structuring of the projects as well as the project’s due diligence. The Gobernación de Cundinamarca was the public entity responsible for the project located in the Bogotá metropolitan area, which was initially valued at $98.8 million USD. IPF’s Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond also landed and conceived structuring for a second regional P3 (Public Private Partnership) Project as a Private Initiative for the “Ubaté Valley Concession” Project. With this deal, IPF SA was the transaction advisor to “PSF Ubaté Valley Concession S.A.”, the private organization that presented the project. The project is located in Cundinamarca, Colombia; and IPF’s Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond was responsible for the structuring of the PPP Concession Project in the pre-feasibility and then in the feasibility stages. The “Ubaté Valley Concession” Project was considered and officially declared viable by the local administration. After assessment of the project from the authority (Departamento de Cundinamarca), “PSF Ubaté Valley Concession S.A.” as well as IPF, he and his team were able to move forward to the next stage, feasibility stage of the P3 Project. Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond’s involvement included leading a group of consultants who helped carry out the project’s due diligence and prepared detailed studies for structuring and market information purposes. IPF’s role also included preparing the project’s financial model and evaluating different structuring alternatives. These analyses also determined the level of support required to develop the public private partnership, to help the government make an informed decision. The Gobernación de Cundinamarca is the government entity behind the approval and oversight of this project, which had an estimated value of 46.2 million United States Dollars. It is one of Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond’s most recent projects. During Fabio Alberto Mendez Dangond’s role as Structuring VP and Senior Vice President of Infrastructure Project Finance S.A., the firm was selected as a Financial Advisor to “Promotora Aeropuerto Bicentenario” in 2009 to develop and perform Risk Analysis and Risk Valuation of the “Bicentenario” Airport Project as a private initiative as well as a Financial Consultant to provide initial debt structuring and identify funding sources for the new airport project.
