Gentry Viers: A Professional History Gentry Viers is very rich in life experience. And at 34 years of age, he has plenty more potential left in him to take on great endeavors. His service to his fellow countrymen, his knowledge of medical care, his ability to build and his skills at smoking a brisket are all traits that could individually make him successful. He hopes to one day combine them all into a hospitality role, but for now his private catering services are taking good care of him as he draws out those plans. After all, with such valuable experience in the following positions, he can take his talents just about anywhere.

Navy As a patriot and a man who sticks up for what is right, Gentry Viers joined the United States Navy in 2001 and served for six years as a foreman and a trauma specialist. His expertise in both of these fields made him a crucial person to have on any overnight mission, as he could set up camp and provide critical medical care to the wounded. He was known for his resourcefulness and his bravery when stabilizing victims on the battlefield. Gentry Viers retired from the Navy in 2007 and returned to his home state of Missouri.

Cooking Gentry Viers grew up as a lover of Kansas City barbeque. He had visited over 100 of the city’s restaurants before developing some recipes of his own. He started with making his own sauce in traditional Kansas City form: heavily based in molasses and tomatoes and other secret spices and ingredients he wouldn’t dare give up. Once he got his own smoker, he became religious about hosting bibs at his house every weekend so he could use his friends as a test audience. They loved his cooking from the start, but it only got better. And now a master of his craft, he takes up private catering gigs to supplement his income.

Construction As a teenager, he worked on construction sites and got his hands dirty with a skill that would become very handy with his work as a foreman. He worked under a private contractor who built houses and residential developments. Here, Gentry Viers gained the basic knowledge of implementing living areas, sleeping areas, plumbing and other things essential to a living space. With his basic knowledge of construction and tools, he was able to make use of all the resources available to him on the battlefield.
