Jonathan Gualberto: An Experienced Tax Analyst Current MBA candidate Jonathan Gualberto provided services as a Tax Analyst Intern/Contractor from June to October of 2013, providing the Tyco company skilled analysis and assistance in that function for nearly a year and a half. The experience he gained in this position should prove to very helpful in his pursuit of a successful career in Finance, exhibiting to potential employers his understanding of taxation and related processes. During his tenure as a Tax Analyst, Jonathan Gualberto focused on services in three primary fields: Income Tax, Sales Tax and Property Tax. He has enjoyed a myriad of responsibilities in each field, each of which is outlined and provided below. College-Educated Jonathan Gualberto recently earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Florida Atlantic University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration in Finance degree at Nova Southeastern University. Jonathan Gualberto intends on utilizing his education and his experience to one day add great value to society, and to achieve success as a business professional. He is also a former member of FAU’s Financial Management Association. Academic Jonathan Gualberto is a dedicated student at Nova Southeastern University, where he is now in pursuit of his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance. Already In possession of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from FAU, Jonathan Gualberto is hopeful to one day secure a position with an established organization, and to build a strong and long-lasting career as a financial professional.

Income Tax As an income tax analyst for Tyco, Gualberto was responsible for providing assistance with compiling all tax data needed to properly prepare the company’s income tax federal state returns. The data he has been required to compile has included both Journal Entry support and General Ledger activity. In this particular function, Jonathan Gualberto has had the opportunity to work with and hone his skills in such systems as Crystal Reports, Hyperion, Oracle, HFM and Essbase. Sales Tax Gualberto’s services in regards to the company’s sales taxes have included both the analysis and processing of exemption and resale certificates for data entry into the company’s internal systems. This information has, in turn, been used to determine the taxability of both projects and customers. He has also been responsible for providing assistance with the monthly e-filing of the Tyco’s sales/use tax returns, as well as working to renew business licenses within various jurisdictions. The systems he has worked with regarding the company’s sales tax information include Vertex and BAAN. Property Tax Jonathan Gualberto’s income tax function with the firm primarily included the analysis of assessment notices in order to determine the accuracy of reported valuations. He has also provided important assistance in regards to the volume of records via both paper and electronic filings. Gualberto has also helped to prepare both spreadsheets and documentation needed for payment


uploads, and has maintained personal contact with local assessor’s offices in order to obtain any required additional documentation. A student of finance at Nova Southeastern University, Jonathan Gualberto is pleased to have had the opportunity to work for and with Tyco in such a capacity. He is hopeful that both his education and experience will open doors of professional opportunity in the near future.
