Joshua M Shields - His Path of Success to UW-Stevens Point This highly-educated individual has worked his way up academically to become one of the most knowledgeable environmentalists in the United States. Joshua M Shields, a recently embarking Outreach Forester, has taken many steps in his lifelong dedication to forestry to get to where he stands today. Formerly the lecturer at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, Shields has made a commitment to the forestry field, and has brought every moment of his life towards achieving his title as the most inspirational environmental sciences lecturer at UW-Stevens Point. Beginning his education in the field at Michigan Technological University, Joshua M Shields of UW-Stevens Point made the life-changing decision to pursue his Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Ecology and Environmental Science, a degree known for its difficulty and prerequisite dedication to the field. This was a challenging time for Shields, but in 2004 he received his B.S. and was given the opportunity to return to MTU for graduate school, a step that is integral to his career peak as the UW-Stevens Point lecturer. From there, Joshua M Shields from UW-Stevens Point pushed on without hesitation to receive his Master’s Degree in Forestry Ecology and Management from MTU in 2006. His passion for the environment brought him to focus his field of expertise to forestry, a science that he fell in love with during graduate school. With this new focused dedication in his heart, he worked as an environmental scientist until his knowledge of the field exponentially increased, receiving his Doctorate in Forestry Biology in 2013 from Perdue University. This gave him the qualification as one of the best choices as an environmental sciences lecturer for UW-Stevens Point, and the opportunity for further career expansion soon after. Joshua M Shields is now departing from this position as an environmental sciences lecturer from UW-Stevens Point to pursue more dedicated parts of the field. With over 8 years of schooling, and several different training and field expertise courses taken to give him field experience, Shields is now pursuing Outreach Forestry in the forests around his community, in order to make the biggest difference possible. With his destiny set on pursuing the improvement of the environment, he has left a message in the hearts of the students at Wisconsin to be inspired by the need for environmental sciences. He is wishing to take this inspiration and move it to his new career, where his hard work and determination for the field of forestry will equip him with the performance he needs as an Outreach Forester to change the world and make a difference.
