Joshua Smith St. Petersburg, FL_Professional Money Manager For more than 25-years, Joshua Smith of St. Petersburg, FL has been managing money. Joshua attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with honors in Economics. Immediately after graduating from PENN, Joshua enrolled in the MBA program at the Olin School of Business at Washington University in Saint Louis so he could help his ailing father with his small money management firm. Unfortunately, Joshua’s father passed away before Joshua could complete the program. Still wanting to follow in his father’s footsteps, Joshua returned to St. Louis to complete his MBA. While he continued to work on his Master’s, Joshua Smith, now a resident of St. Petersburg, FL, received a financial research internship opportunity and went to work at Pauli and Company, a local broker/dealer/investment banking boutique in St. Louis. The skills and knowledge Joshua would gain during this time became invaluable to him during his first year out of school. In 1992, Josh was introduced to Gerald Kennedy at a Super Bowl Party. Kennedy, the owner of Kennedy Capital Management, a money management firm in St. Louis, offered Joshua a job managing a small cap value stock portfolio. After two years with the firm, Joshua was contacted by a headhunter from New York that would change his life path once again. In 1994, Joshua Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, left Kennedy Capital Management and became a portfolio manager for Dallas Hedge Fund, Regal Asset Management. Joshua continued to outperform expectations and worked at Regal until it closed its doors at the end of 2002. With a decade of experience under his belt, Joshua opened Headstream Value Partners with former Regal President, Bill Ward. Joshua used his small-cap management style to run the investment firm, a style he learned from his father. The firm did well, and Joshua continued to have a solid track record in performance. In 2009, Bill Ward decided to close Headstream Value Partners. Joshua Smith of St. Petersburg, FL began managing and trading his account, keeping his skills sharp. In 2014, he started Miscrofundamentals, a money management and small cap value consulting company. His years of experience over the years has provided him with a solid understanding of the market and dedication that most money managers lack. Joshua is extremely particular about his portfolio, screening virtually every earnings report that comes over the Dow Jones news wires and only adding ideas that meet his value model.
