Kaitlyn Elizabeth Fitch: Capturing Each Moment Kaitlyn Elizabeth Fitch has been a professional photographer for five years and she started practicing photography when she was 24 years old. It is not often that one is lucky enough to make a career out of a hobby or something done casually, but Kaitlyn pushed herself out of her comfort zone after graduating college, pursuing a life that she had only dreamed of, but never found in reality. Now 29, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Fitch works for an outdoor adventure magazine as one of their in-house photographers. Her job provides her numerous opportunities for adventure, taking her throughout the country, continent, and even internationally to photograph the outdoor pursuits of the company. This often involves skiing into the backcountry with professional snowboarders and skiers in search of the next big shot. She never forgets to take a shovel and her avalanche GPS beacon because she knows that the backcountry is never a setting one should take lightly. Her outdoor photography ventures do not just focus on professional skiers and snowboarders, however; she also shoots mountain climbers, extreme expedition undertakers, downhill mountain bikers, and ice climbers, just to name a few. Having grown up in Telluride, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Fitch has been nestled in one of the most beautiful places in America since birth, giving her a profound sense of photography and appreciation for nature. Telluride, Colorado, is situated in the San Juan Mountain Range in Southwest Colorado. It is home to Telluride Ski Resort and is a popular destination for tourists seeking one of the best mountain experiences available. Telluride is often considered a “hippy” town because of the town locals being so liberal and “heady”, but there is something for everyone to enjoy in Telluride. Home to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the Blues and Brews Festival, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Fitch always found the sense of community to be strong and passionate. Kaitlyn met her husband, Will, shortly after moving back to Telluride after finishing college in Denver. They met each other at the Ouray Ice Festival in Ouray, Colorado, a festival that features ice climbers from all over the world competing in the annual contest. Will, a San Juan Mountain Guide, found much in common with Kaitlyn, as his love for the outdoors seemed unmatched by anyone until he met her. They now share two beautiful children and live in Ouray, Colorado, never faltering in their everyday pursuit of life and happiness.
