Love Odih Kumuyi is a trained lawyer who attended the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica, completing her studies there in October of 2012. She was admitted to the Jamaica Bar a month later. As a student at Norman Manley, Love Odih Kumuyi was a member of a debating team that argued a hypothetical human rights issue at the World Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Pretoria, South Africa in 2011. And in something that sounds like it came from The Mouse That Roared, the team of Norman Manley law students took on a team from Yale University in the competition's final round, and defeated them.

Norman Manley school officials were ecstatic about the victory, which was the second year in a row that a Norman Manley team had won. Team members were ecstatic, too; Love Odih Kumuyi was honored to be named the competition's Third Best Oralist.

Love Odih Kumuyi has also been a volunteer with the Electoral Office of Jamaica. She served as a Presiding Officer and an elections supervisor from 2002 until 2011. The Electoral Office of Jamaica, or EOJ, handles the day-to-day operations of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica. The EOJ is a public government agency established in 1943. It administers Parliamentary and local government elections.

She has also worked with the Peace Corps periodically as a language and Cross Cultural Facilitator from 2007 to 2011. Love Odih Kumuyi volunteers as a mediator in the New York State Unified Court System. As a mediator, she works to facilitate Alternative Dispute Resolution between opponents in legal disputes.
