Randy Dunnett: Success Stories Randy Dunnett is marking a decade as the co-owner of the Finish Strong Indoor Sportsplex in West Chicago, Illinois, where he is also the co-owner of the Force Elite Baseball Club. Randy Dunnett has nearly fifteen years of experience as a baseball coach, and has devoted his life to baseball. A Chicago native, Randy Dunnett was a hard-throwing right handed pitcher who played his college ball at South Suburban College and Belmont University. He became a professional player in 1999 when he signed with the Cook County Cheetahs (now the Windy City Thunderbolts) in the Frontier League. Meanwhile, Randy Dunnett had earned a degree in Business Administration while attending Belmont University, and wanted to put his business skills to good use with baseball. Those plans were on hold when he was with the Cheetahs, but Randy Dunnett got into coaching even before he retired from professional baseball in 2001, when he got a job as a baseball instructor at the Jack Perconte Sports Academy. What began as an offseason job has by now turned into a fulltime career. "I am a dedicated coach and mentor," Randy Dunnett says. "I have coached and helped thousands of young players." In 2004 Randy Dunnett finally got his own facility, opening the Finish Strong Indoor Sportsplex, a multi-sport training facility that specializes in baseball and soccer training. The Force Elite Baseball Club grew out of that in 2011. Randy Dunnett is proud of the steady expansion of his business. "Each year I have grown my program and currently I have nine teams that play for my organization," he says. "We have had dozens of players finish our high school program and move on to college baseball, and every year we produce more of these success stories." And Randy Dunnett still picks up his glove. "I also am still an avid ballplayer as well as a coach and instructor," he says. In 2007 he had a short professional comeback when he signed on with the Schaumburg Flyers for the final twenty games of the season, and is active in a men's amateur league. "I have played men's baseball since 2006 in the Chicago Men's Senior Baseball League, and I have played in several national baseball tournaments in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jupiter, Florida, and Phoenix , Arizona."
