Randy Palazzo - Charitable Work Randy Palazzo is a father of two well-spoken girls, and one of the top builders and renovators in the Greater Portland area. He is also a member at Horizon Community Church and participates in many charitable programs through his church. March of Dimes, Volunteers of America, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Doernbecker's Children's Hospital, Feed the Children, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Toys for Tots. March of Dimes recently launched the Prematurity Campaign to address a crisis and help families have full-term, healthy babies. They fund lifesaving research and speak out for legislation that improves healthcare for mothers and babies. Globally, 15 million babies are born prematurely each year. In 2008, March of Dimes expanded the campaign to go around the world. Volunteers of America is a Christian Church, which answers the call of God in an effort to transform the earth through services. Volunteers of America feeds, clothes, and demonstrates to everyone that all people are beloved children of God. ASPCA was the first humane organization granted with the authority to investigate and legally make arrests for things deemed as crimes against animals. They are wholly dedicated to fulfilling the ASPCA mission, without resorting to violence at any time. ASPCA provides both local and national leadership in their three key areas: caring for pet parents and pets, providing positive outcomes for at-risk animals, and serving victims of animal cruelty. Doernbecker’s Children’s Hospital is a Children’s Hospital local to Portland. They have a dedicated ER for kids and recommended dosages for children. They also help check for symptoms and have an anti-scare service that helps children realize that they are not alone, whatever their needs may be. Feed the Children creates food programs through local schools and equip students with school supplies around America and around the world. They also provide medical care and ensure clean water practices are being followed. Feed the Children encourages selfsufficiency by developing livelihoods that will stop the vicious cycle of poverty and despair. They also meet urgent needs in specific responses to natural disasters. All of these fantastic organizations might not be able to make the awesome impact they can, if not for the contributions of Horizon Community Church and its members, such as Randy Palazzo. Understanding what every single person who requires different services will go through is impossible, but due to organizations that can get the help from local establishments such as Horizon Community Church, understanding is not required to be able to help.
