The Woman Behind the Job - Heather Rome DAI Heather Rome, formerly of Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI), earned her Master’s in Global Management from the world’s number one school of international management, Thunderbird School of Global Management. Rome also completed an MBA at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. She has experience working internationally, and is exceptionally accomplished in her field.

Heather Rome is a natural leader with skills in operations and strategic implementation. As an employee of DAI, Rome had the opportunity to specifically work and exhibit the mentioned skills as an expatriate throughout Latin America and Venezuela focusing on international development, operations and management. She also had the opportunity to work in emerging markets such as Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. In these countries she focused on market development, project management and financial oversight. In total Rome has traveled to more than 30 different countries, and with her experience, if she so desires, she has the capability to travel to 30 more.

To complete her international profile, Heather Rome Development Alternatives Inc.DAI is bilingual, with Spanish being her second language, and has had many different professional associations within the scope of global affairs and international business. She has been affiliated with: the Model United Nation (MUN), Rotary Club International, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Net Impact, the Society for International Development (SID), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). She also earned membership to a number of honor societies. They are: Pi Gamma Mu for Social Science, Pi Sigma Alpha for Political Science, Mortar Board for Leadership and Academic Excellence.

Rome has also served on collegiate boards of student government, and a university board of academic appeals for professional and academic integrity.

In addition to her many talents mentioned above, Heather Rome also has contributed to white papers on topics such as the USAID/DAI Strategic Advances in Girl’s Education (SAGE). She was able to make these contributions as an employee of Development Alternatives, Inc. She carries these impressive accolades, skills in operations, analysis and strategic implementation, and her experience on the international market with her to all future endeavors.
