THE PEAK
Nestled among the neon lit streets and soaring skyscrapers you will find intricate temples and colourful shrines. Visit Man Mo Temple, Hong Kong’s oldest temple, famous for its giant hanging incense coils. In Kowloon, see the tranquil Chi Lin Nunnery. Burn an incense stick and make a wish at the vibrant Wong Tai Sin Temple. View the nine storey pagoda at the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin. Further afield discover Hong Kong’s most important Buddhist sanctums – Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island.
Victoria Peak is the highest point on Hong Kong Island and offers dazzling panoramic views of the cityscape, Victoria Harbour, Kowloon and the New Territories. The quickest and most picturesque way to get to The Peak, is by riding the Peak Tram. The historic tram runs from 7am until midnight and allows you time to take in the views of the city as the trolley journeys up Hong Kong’s famous mountain. At the top, visit Peak Tower for fantastic shopping and dining or walk the 305 kilometre Peak Circle Walk for amazing 360 degree views.
