Having served as the helm of Radisson Blu Hotel Doha since June 1989, Gordon has borne witness to the city's transformation and growth. He has also flexed his managerial prowess in comparable roles at a bevy of hotels worldwide, including Avari International Hotels in Dubai and the esteemed Commodore Hotel in Beirut.

What's the craziest request you've ever received from a guest?

Well, one time, a guest asked for something truly out of the ordinary - a dinner for two atop a towering sand dune, complete with chilled sparkling drinks service.

What is your favorite dish at the hotel's restaurant?

I particularly like the steak tartare, although I have a few favorite dishes every time I visit one of the many restaurants available.

If you could swap roles with any employee at the hotel for a day, who would it be and why?

I would choose to be a driver so that I could have the luxurious experience of driving the Rolls Royce around Doha.

What is the most unique feature of the hotel that most guests aren't aware of?

We offer 12 exclusive rooms that display the northern hemisphere's night sky, featuring distinct planets and the Milky Way.

How do you ensure that the hotel remains eco-friendly?

To ensure the hotel remains in harmony with nature, I make it a point to stay up-to-date with the latest environmental news, perusing written articles, indulging in insightful podcasts, and occasionally turning to the screen to gain new insights.

If you could describe the hotel in three words, what would they be? Amazing. Wow. Amazing.

What is the most memorable experience you've had with a guest?

Despite an initial baseless complaint from a guest who appeared fixated on getting the duty manager in trouble, the issue was eventually resolved through persistent and reasonable communication, even after checking the CCTV footage. It took three weeks, but ultimately a satisfactory solution was reached.

How does the hotel cater to sports enthusiasts?

We decorate our public areas with paraphernalia related to specific sports. For example, for motorcycle races, we proudly display an awe-inspiring collection of six motorbikes borrowed from prestigious garages, lending an authentic feel to the ambiance of our hotel.

What is your favorite activity to do in Qatar?

Two challenging and exclusive golf courses are available for a refreshing round of golf. Every round of golf lasts approximately four hours, making it the perfect way to spend a leisurely day in the exquisite setting of Qatar.
