TIMELESS ELEGANCE
Design firm owner and principal interior designer Alexis Pawling had ten years to dream up exactly what she wanted her own home to look like and just how she would like it to function for her family of four.
“My goal was to create an airy, bright, happy home that had enough living space for the four of us. [Today the house is] transitional/modern dappled with antiques, vintage and a dash of color and whimsy.”

This charming sitting room is just that, with its striking chandelier, antique-looking touches from the vase and sideboard, and cozy, velvet-brushed chairs. Texture and intrigue come from the wallpaper (offset by the white ceiling) and the mix of saturated and neutral colors. It’s a chic room that still affords comfort and livability for the whole family.
Alexis used Bird Hardware for the hardware throughout the home, lighting is from Circa, Hudson Valley, and Arteriors, furniture is from Abode, Made Goods, Bungalow 8, Four Hands, and Alder & Tweed, and the paint is from Benjamin Moore and Farrow & Ball.
