Who we are ?

Loose & Goose is a new tie company delivering the newest and novelty designs to the younger male customers with affordable

price range. We understand young customers want to keep up with the latest trends in their daily accessories, but they do not want to invest too much money on accessories.

Loose & Goose is founded in 2015 by Qiaoning Gu, Sofia Molinaro and Heejun Hwang. It is a new private label about men’s

ties. We are focusing on various patterns and newest styles instead of traditional designs of ties. Our brand will be released both online and retail stores. Our first retailer store will be open in 14 Whitaker St, Savannah, GA. It is a small bouquet store offering various styles of products and remarkable services.

Our product category is Men’s Ties which are fun, funky

and stylish. We are targeting young males who are looking for unique ties for a special occasion. The product will be sold on Whitaker Street in downtown Savannah, Georgia. The reason why we picked the location is based on the demographic statistics of the city and the rent costs. Whitaker Street in Savannah is an affordable location for Loose & Goose Ties because it has lower rent costs but still it is one of the main streets downtown. By looking at the statistics of the city, Savannah downtown’s per capital income for 2014 ranges in $19,835 with total retail sales of $1,477,858,000 and also has a 6.99% of store sales in the clothes and accessories department.

But what really attracts millions of tourists every year in Savannah are the series of boutiques and antique stores that provide a unique kind of shopping due to its historic nature and all the local designers in the area. Thanks to the local designers tourists are able to purchase one-of-a-kind clothing pieces that cannot be found anywhere else in America. Statistics for tourists in Savannah:

The Savannah lifestyle could be identified as a laid-back and artistic community because of the high population of art students

who study at the Savannah College of Creative Careers. The urban city in itself is full of artistic indication thanks to all of the artists that live in the city. This shows that our target customer is a definitely Striver who lives in the city. According to the VALS profile, the Striver is an active consumer living in Savannah has a job instead of a career. Also, it is someone that favors stylish products following the acquisitions with much larger material wealth. Daily activities consist of shopping the latest trends within the fashion industry.

Scope and size of your segment of the fashion industry Men’s accessory is a small segment in the fashion industry and the scope of the men’s necktie is a small segment in menswear.

According to Apparel Retail in the United States in 2014 from Marketline, the US apparel retail industry has total revenues of $371.1 billion in 2013 representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% since 2009. The menswear segment contributed revenues is quite lower comparing to the women’ swear segment. The Menswear contributed revenues of $ 126.9 billion in 2013, equating to 34.2% of the industry’s aggregate values. (Fig. 4)

According to Men’s Clothing: United States in 2014 from Freedonia Focus reports, the total men’s clothing demand at the retail level

is $ 73.0 billion. Men’s accessories hold 12% in the men’s clothing aggregate value. It shows that neckties are a small segment under Men’s accessories and amongst other small segments. However, aggregate retail demand for all men’s clothing and related accessories reached $ 8.4

According to our personal investigation, young customers aged between 18 and 30, prefer funky ties with special patterns. For the age

group of 30+, they prefer to purchase ties that are either of dark blue colors or are patterned with gray stripes, because most of them are bankers or businessman, and want to look professional and sophisticated.

Normally, neckties are approximately 50 – 60 inches

in length and 2.5 – 3.5 inches in width. According to the Tie size Guide, there are several sizes of ties.

The first size is

regular width tie, and its size is 3.5 inches. The second size is 3 inches, this type of size is offered to customers who want a slimmer look, but don’t want to wear a “skinny tie.” The third size is 2.5 inches; this is the most popular size selling in the Tie Bar, because customers prefer a more modern look. The forth size is 2 inches; this kind of slim style is for fashion-forward customers who want a very slim look.

Regular- sized bow ties are standard 2.5 inches tall. All

bow ties have an adjustable clasp that can be worn with neck size ranged from 14 ½ inches to 18 inches.

According to our personal investigation, most young male customers like to buy ties with special or funny patterns with affordable prices.

For most businessmen, they would choose the traditional size tie with dark colors that suit their career. Special holiday or events serve as unique days for male customers, because they usually like to break the rule of their serious and stiff style when they purchasing ties for these occasions. Females are also potential customers, because they usually like to buy ties as gifts for their fathers, brothers, male friends or husbands.

The number of frequency of shopping depends on buyers’ income that month. According to our personal investigation, inexpensive price

and interesting patterns could be used to attract customers. For general males, they maybe purchase ties once every six months with different styles. •

After visiting several online famous trendy brands, such as; Noose and Monkey, ASOS, Reclaimed Vintage and Jack and Jones, we

discovered that most items are priced between $20 and $50. Prices also change depending on the complexity of the content of fabric and design fabrication. Expectation

Sales trends

The market of Men’s neckwear has continued to grow in unexpected places. In 2008, Men’s neckwear suffered a tough situation.

The Men’s Dress Furnishings Association officially released data that didn’t look good for neckwear; it wasn’t going to be profitable. There was a serious decrease in sales before 2008, which was frightening to the tie industry. However, according to figures from the NPD group, a company that specializes in consumer market research, the volume of neckwear sales increased from about $677 million in 2008 to nearly $800 million in 2013. After years of dropping, men’s neckwear is returning to mainstream men’s clothing.

Technological trends

There are two different new technological trends in men’s neckwear: microfiber ties and laser cutting.

Microfiber ties are the latest development in the necktie industry. Microfiber is a man made material that blends a unique combination of polyester, nylon (polyamide) and a special material for stain resistance. Compared to traditional silk ties, microfiber ties are more costeffective. However, they still have the texture, feel and quality of silk ties.

Laser cutting is a new technology used in making ties. This is a method of designing from given materials using a CAD file to build

it. There are two main types of lasers used in the industry: CO2 laser Nd and Nd-YAg. CO2 machines is common machine use in laser cutting, which involves firing a laser that cuts by melting, burning or vaporizing material, such as wood.

Different sizes of bowties become new trends in spring/ summer 2015. Larger size with bright and softer colors makes people look

younger and energetic. There are two new bowtie styles that became famous this year: Large Butterfly bowties and Diamond tip bowties.

Butterfly bowties is a classic shape in bowties history. The difference in the large size bowties is that they are bigger and taller than

the classic style, and they look best on men with larger neck sizes and bigger faces and chins. Large size butterfly bowties keep their original shape, and its eternal style is noted for its gentlemanly and dapper look that is crisp and fashionable.

Diamond tip bowties is for the dashing rule breaker who is following the newest trends in the fashion world. This style of bowtie

Inspiration:

Our inspiration comes from food chain of flamingo, which starts from flamingo to shrimps, then coral. We pick colors and patterns that

are based on our inspiration board and focus on creating patterns of flamingo.

Based on the online trend research, we came up with different styles of ties in our first collection, such as flat ties with trendy size,

regular ties with trendy size, butterfly bowties and diamond tip bowties. We combined our ideas of graphic ties and printed our design pattern on fabric.

Concept:

Our concept of patterns is based on funny, unique and colorful design. It’s also our selling points. We combine an idea of our inspi-

ration mood board and current trends of men’s ties.

Considering our target customers are interested in funky and special pattern on items. Our product line is focused on pattern of ties;

we chose pattern based on our inspiration board. About color palette, we choose bright colors, such as white, pink, green, blue and organic to our target customers. We came up with four different styles of graphics, which based on current trends of men’s ties. .

Our products would be produced in USA, including all of the materials. ADF is our main manufacture, which is a man’s neckwear &

accessory company in New York City. Our fabric is sourcing from Vogue Fabric, which is one of the largest and best fabric stores in the United States.

According to our cost sheet of items, product costs $ 9.32 in average. On the average scale, our retailer price is $50, and our

margin is 81.26%.

According to reference USA, the location sales volume of zip code 31405 is $399,000. Many stores have over 2,500 square foot-

age in this area. The rent fee is range from $25,000 to $50,000, and advertising fee is between $5,000 to $10,000.

The sale volume is changed per month; we are considering that the peak of the year is December because of Christmas Events. We

also consider that Savannah is a popular tourist attractions so that many tourists would travel and shop in the city. In addition, we are also selling products online, so we can sell our products without location restriction. Combining all factors, we plan to sale 108 units per month in average both online and our retail stores. The cost of each item is $9.32 in average. Our logo design is black and white color with a name of Loose & Goose, and we added the head of goose into our logo that

represents silly attitudes or lazy depositions. We want to show people an extremely different lifestyle of relaxed, and escape from busy and intense lifestyle. The design of our business cards, hangtags, and labels have the simple design with black and white logo. We choose Kraft paper as the material of hangtags, and use muslin as our bags to keep products. About muslin bags, we choose small size bags, width 4 3/4� and height 7 1/2�. For special events, we will come up with special patterns on our muslin bags, which is limited bags only offer for a short period of time. We choose the common woven fabric as our labels on ties.

Pool Trade show is the trade show we will promote our brand to the fashion marketing. It is the art of fashion, where people could

find scout fresh new items made specifically for the boutique market. It presented in an intimate business-conducive settings and to provide one-step shopping opportunity for retailers of all sizes.

The Pool Trade show is open to all new designers, brands and international businesses. The size of the show place is 20,000

square feet, and they have about 200 exhibitions. Fashion buyers, retail owners, managers, venders and manufactories attend the Pool Trade Show, who are seeking new products or exhibiting their products. It almost has 6,500 buyers will attend this show in three days. The Pool Trade show offers the Cash & Carry booth to the same accessories’ businesses, which costs $2,000 per booth. The Cash & Carry provides independent crafters an opportunity to introduce brands to the fashion industry by directly selling immediate goods to all attends.

FABRIC SUPPLY

Knit ties and bowties: We supply all yarns necessary for this. We can produce any designs based on your specifications of pattern, style, and color. We offer knit production with silk, cotton, wool, and microfiber yarns. Woven Silk and Microfiber: (Woven fabric has the pattern and colors woven into the fabric. The design is comprised of the weaving of all the yarns. Printed fabric is a flat fabric that has a design printed on.) You have a choice of supplying your own fabric, choosing from our designs in our fabric archives, or having us manufacture the fabric for you based on your designs. Printed Silk and Microfiber: (Woven fabric has the pattern and colors woven into the fabric. The design is comprised of the weaving of all the yarns. Printed fabric is a flat fabric that ha s a design printed on.) You have a choice of supplying your own fabric, or having us manufacture the fabric for you based on your designs. Cotton, Linen, Wool and all other fabrics: We have a limited fabric archive you can choose from. In most cases, alternative fabrics are supplied by the customer.

74 Tie Tipping: Necktie prices include plain poly satin tipping, recurring logo tipping, or placed logo tipping. New logo tipping designs have a one time setup charge of $25.00. Additional design and tipping styl es are available and will be assessed on a cost per project basis.


ORIGINAL DESIGNS

Customer Original Designs and Samples: New design requests must be accompanied with an order, so that once the design is confirmed, the order can be confirmed as well. New designs are confirmed with swatches or artwork files. Full production samples can be ordered at $50 each (non-refundable). If the design requires any samples or components to be sent overseas, there is a non refundable $65 courier charge (per 1 lb package). This charge is one-way only, we do not charge for the return counter sample. We prefer production orders to be design and art ready. In the event that you need assistance with any design work, we have an in-house art department that has experience working with illustrations, coloring, editing and label / logo concepts. Graphics, Design, Labels, or Logo work can be provided a t a cost of $50/hour. Print Products: We use a screen printing process for all printed products. Minimum requirements for printed products are 50 units per design. Screen setup charges are a one-time $20 per color for tie, bowtie, and standard pocket square screens, regardless of quantity of order. Larger items may require higher priced screens. Any shade of a color is considered its own separate color. White colors are considered separate colors as well. Screens have a limited shelf life of approximately 6 months post-production. After 6 months, repeat orders will incur repeat screen charges; but at a 50% discount.

LABELS

Brand Labels: You can provide your brand labels or we can produce them for you. Brand label production costs a one -time $25 setup fee and then $0.10 per unit with a 1000 label minimum. We prefer labels to be design and art ready. In the event that you need assistance with any design work, we have an in-house art department that has experience working with illustrations, coloring, edi ting and label / logo concepts. Graphics, Design, Labels, or Logo work can be provided at a cost of $50/hour. Care Labels: Care labels are included in our price for production provided that we can use basic standard care labels. Customized or unique care labels will need to be provided or can be at a one -time $25 setup fee and then $0.10 per unit with a 1000 label minimum.

PACKAGING

All items include poly bag (plastic sleeve) packaging and plastic hangers if requested. Custom printing is available for bags and hangers. Design / setup fees for custom printed bags or hangers have a one -time $50 setup charge and cost $0.05 more per sleeve or hanger. There is a minimum of 5000 units for custom printed hangers or sleeves. We can produce extra packaging for you like hang tags, printed hangers and sleeves, boxes, tissue wrap etc. Packaging projects are quoted on a per project basis. We prefer special package production orders to be design and art ready. In the event that you need assistance with any design work, we have an in-house art department that has experience working with illustrations, coloring, editing and label / logo concepts. Graphics, Design, Labels, or Logo work can be provided at a cost of $50/hour. For very specialized or elaborate packaging requests, we suggest to use a packaging vendor or specialist. This is a separate industry and would not be our area of expertise.
