Installing Windows 8 Preparations before installing Windows 8 in a dual boot environment: 1. Must have 2 partitions preferably 3 partitions. 1. 1st partition : C drive containing current Windows. 2. 2nd partition: data storage and os backup. 3. 3rd partition: Windows 8 installation. 2. Use Easus Partition Master to create the extra partitions. 3. Before installing Windows 8, you need to backup the current Windows OS e.g Win 7. 4. Use Macrium Reflect 5.1 to do the backup of the OS onto another partition. 5. Before backup, clean up the current system with ccleaner and auslogic disk defrag. 6. After backup, install Windows 8 in dual boot mode onto a new partition.
