Site Analysis
Study the site in the context of Shanghai’s Outer Ring Green Belt to find its positioning and importance. Software in use: GIS, Google Earth, Photoshop, Illustrator
Perspective from Outer Loop Starting Point
The current memorial stone is highlighted to create an iconic Outer Loop Starting Point with rich planting and micro-topography. The view is chosen to illustrate how existing community spaces could be enhanced whilst celebrating its heritage.

1: The tree trunk symbolizes outer ring of Shanghai; 2: Branches symbolize the existing ecocorridor; 3: The flower indicate the blue in the site, with five branch canals extend to different directions. 4: The leaves demonstrate the future park loop around new city and the green space along the canals and roads. 5: Eventually, the planned Xinyang District as fruit developed inside the substrate.
Concept GIF Frames
The growth of a peach tree illustrates the phasing and future blue print of a smart city.
Perspective from Forest Meeting Modules
The meeting modules scattered along the forest pathway are composed of meeting units of different scales individually or in combination. Immersed in the fresh air in the woods, the meeting modules provide functions for meetings, indoor and outdoor presentations, fitness and entertainment.

Perspective from Pet Park
The pet park is enclosed with stepped seats and hedge. Multiple facilities and playgrounds create a safe and joyful experience for both pets and their hosts. In the process of creating this drawing, I learnt how to create a space for pets in public space. Pictures on the right are WIP modifications.

Perspective from Open Lawn
The pathway circle and surrounding woods draw an open lawn in the middle for public events such as outdoor movie night and live show.

Perspective from Water Screen Theater
The water screen theater transformed from the facade structure of an industrial warehouse becomes the visual center of the site. The combination of technological waterscape and smart paving forms a fresh and interactive experience.

Physical Model
In the two days hands-on production and supervision in the model factory, I learned several physical model making skills. Furthermore, I gained a more accurate sense on the specific scale and space in the design.

Perspective from Community Linear Space
In modern residential community, interactive wave lawn, dichroic glass boxes, modular planting boxes and other landscape elements are added to create a lively atmosphere. High-Tech and smart facilities are utilized to involve interaction and participation in the place.

Birdview from Peach Blossom Island
Following the existing polder context on the island, the landscape will evolve into a traditional Chinese scene with thousands of peach trees blossoming in the spring. Landscape path along the polder lines and water.

Big Picture of Twelve Scenic Spots
The Chinese style painting depicts an epitome of twelve scenes created in the design. Surrounding the water lies on the existing polders and fields, the landscape elements within convey the design spirits and methods in the project.

Perspective from Lotus Wetland
Lotus is planted on the edge of the wetland on the east side of the high-speed railway station, forming a pure and wild scene where metasequoia, slash pine and landscape grass and lotus fusion symbiosis. Pictures on the right are WIP modifications.
