WEEK 9 READING: PESPECTIVE AS SYMBOLIC FORM
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) ‘Perspectiva‘ is a latin word which defined as perspective projection by Durer. The meaning of that is a plan projected to see through different particular individuals. Deurer indicated that there are three rules firstly, all arthogonal lines must meeta at one vanishing point, next, all parallel lines share the same vanishing point which could lead to the modification of their angles, lastly, when space is recorded, the same dimensions will be disminished progressively.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)
Homogenous space refers to the space which is produces by constrution not new provided space. Since all the objects are related to each other, all of them will meet and all elements are connected in order to demostrate the postions. Consequently, individual object inside the homogenous space has no real content. The understaning of homogenous space assist to distinguish the difference between planar and spatial object

INVISIBLE CITY: BEERSHEBA
3
‘ It is true that the city is accpanied by two projections of itself, one celestial and one infernal; but the citizens are mistaken about their consistency. ’ This sentance from Macro Polo’s description is the logic behind my design. The Beersheba is divided into 3 levels. The first two levels are the ordinary world lived with people from different classes. These two level are not connected which stand for two different life standards. The underground is the ‘celestrial‘ city in the belief of the citizens.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 Perspective 1 This view completely hides the other perspective’s characters and contains great height of the city.
Perspective 2 This view is rather a condensed space. It provides good angles of the vault and column which would be decorated.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2
Perpective 1 This is a dirty market where is full of poor people in hunger. The man sitting at the stairs is Jesus who leads people to the heaven. His identity is unknow to the people. However, he is looking at the underground which can be accessd from the stairs. Since in Beersheba, the people believe that the underground world in infernal, the real ‘celestrial‘ world never be entered.
Perspective 2 This is the second level of Beersheba which is an ornamental world with upperclass people living there. Though these people hold a belied that there is a heaven in the sky which I designed it exists underground, they can’t access to as the first floor is not connected to the ground floor. This stands for the rich seldom concern about the poor. The maid at the corner of the scene is the only one who is suffering and can be saved by god.

WEEK 4 READING: MAPPING THE UNMASPPABLE
Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice?
According to the suffix ‘auto‘, the autographic practice is directly produced artwork through the idea of the author. This kind of artwork can be understand fully by the viewers. The allographic practice can be defined as an abstract or capable art work which based on convention. Interpretation of each viewer can be different because the nature of the structure is not come from the original author. Additionally, imgination combined with the notations, allographic practice can indicate more new realities.
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? Because the architects’ ideas can be influenced by the contemporary cultures and society. While the traditional representation is mainly focused on the skills like leaving a trace on the construction, alternative representation could enhance the efficiency and interpretation of the ideas.
