SKILL BUILDER HOW TO STARTUP YOUR SYSTEM AGAIN In order to support machine restart, Quaker Houghton has established the simple procedure and additive selection shown below. This supplements our Skill Builder document on Extended Shutdown. Please note that post-addition additives are highly concentrated mixtures. It is recommended to handle with care and with the adapted PPEs. It is mandatory to respect dosage recommendation. Please consult the relevant technical datasheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each product prior to use. In case of doubt, please contact your Quaker Houghton representative.
the system pumps.
show emulsion instability, start running the sys• Iftemanalytical pumps and then add after 1 hour the proper additive (emulsifier) to stabilize the emulsion.
In case of oil floating on top of synthetics, suck the top layer to remove the tramp oils then run the system pumps. STEP 3 Run the system for at least 1 hour and take a sample for full analytical (pH, Concentrations, Bacteria/Fungi). STEP 4
Recommended Process For System Restart
Adjust any parameters out of specifications with the proper additives (see table below). Scrupulously respect the treatments order as follow :
STEP 1
•1 •2 •3
Before running the system pumps, make a visual inspection on the top of emulsion.
st
STEP 2 In case of floating oil, debris or residues on top of the emulsion, take a sample of the top layer for analytical. FIELD ISSUE
analytical shows mainly tramp oils, suck the oily layer • Ifand/or debris with proper equipment. Then start running
