Where did you move from? We moved here from Ponce, PR a few weeks before the terrible hurricane Maria hit the Island. What do you miss most? We miss our friends, family and of course, the gorgeous beaches and beautiful landscapes the Island has.
When did you move to Kindred? We moved to Kindred a little over three years ago.
What is your background? I served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. I was a Sergeant and operated 109 tanks, among other things. During that time, I was deployed to Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War. Now I’m a retired Veteran.
What do you love most about Kindred? What we love most about living here is the peaceful environment, the beautiful lakes, the well-maintained grounds and landscaping and, of course, all the kind people we have met and became friends with. What are your kids’ favorite things about Kindred? The resort-like pool and spacious gym area. They also enjoy taking long walks through the amazing and beautiful nature trails.

What is a good story about Kindred? All the fun activities we have done in our community, but our favorite is the Salsa Dance Classes. What is unusual or unique about Kindred, in comparison to your previous home? The tranquility, beautiful landscapes and peacefulness of our neighborhood.
What is your favorite weekend activity? On weekends we love gathering with are family for barbecues in our backyard and getting together to enjoy a day at the pool. Is there a neighbor experience you are most proud of? Yes! Our neighbors are the most kind and helpful people we have ever met. What do you do for fun? Our favorite thing to do as a family is practicing sports like soccer and taking Salsa dance classes together. We also enjoy all the theme parks here in Florida. We love riding all the big rollercoasters. What is the last movie that you have seen in the theatre? The last movie we saw was “Spiderman Homecoming.” We are big superhero fans. What is your favorite TV Show? I would have to say our favorite TV show as a family is “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” n

Spring Featured Amenity: Volleyball Court If there is an amenity at Kindred that you should check out during the spring, look no further than our beach volleyball court. The soft sand in between your toes coupled with the gorgeous Floridian spring weather will have you feel like you are playing a game in the middle of a tropical paradise. The volleyball court is located just outside the clubhouse and is conveniently close to the parking lot. Once you park your car, you are just a few steps away from getting the action going. The volleyball court is firstcome, first-serve and is not allowed to be reserved. However, get to know your neighbors and up the challenge by allowing those waiting to play to take on the winners. MEET YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM Raphael Estevez With over 13 years of experience in sports entertainment, Raphael Estevez is not exactly the quintessential lifestyle director one may be accustomed to. Originally from Miami, FL, Raphael has worked with the Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and Florida Panthers. Since moving up to Orlando he has worked with the Tampa Bay Rays and is currently in his 4th season with the Orlando Magic. Raphael brings his experience of fan interaction and entertainment knowledge here to Kindred in hopes of making where you live feel like a vacation from the real world. With events and activities that can appeal to all different age groups, Raphael is always creating something for you and your family at the Kindred Clubhouse. Paul Almonte
Born and raised in Miami to Dominican parents, Paul has been managing associations for 12 years. Due to this, Paul has an extensive background in the customer service, clerical, building inspecting and management fields. Working in these fields, gaining experience with a long range of customers on a consistent basis, has given Paul the hands-on training he would need to fill this position’s duties. Paul believes that he is well suited for the job. These accomplishments demonstrate what he has done for his other communities and will do for you. Should you want to add a fence, satellite dish or make any other exterior changes, you can submit your request online at www.artemislifestyles.com. Once on the website, click on “ARB Request”. You will open a page that looks like this: Click on “Select Your Community” towards the bottom of the page, then click on “Kindred”. Enter all your information here and attach all documents you have outlining the proposed project. Once your request is received it will be reviewed to be sure it is complete. If there are any issues or missing documents we will call or email you. The board will review your application and we will email you the final approval letter for your records if an email address is provided. Otherwise you will receive and approval or denial letter in the mail. If you have any questions, please contact the HOA management office for assistance.

COMMUNITY EVENTS Karaoke & Lip Sync Showcase your inner star in front of your family, neighbors, and friends! We will be hosting karaoke nights every month allowing you to perform your favorite songs for all to see. Don’t have the confidence to sing but still want to perform? Lip-syncing is also available! No need to worry about your vocal skills, just perform like the words are coming from your mouth.
Music Bingo This isn’t your old game of bingo done in a hall. Music Bingo follows the same rules of bingo, except instead of numbers, it’s songs. As you hear the song being played, you search your card for it, and the first to get a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line of 5 songs wins by yelling BINGO! It’s that easy. Each month the game will consist of different themes and genres. Using an autogenerating software, the games will be played right from your smartphone. Which means no pickup and as many cards for as many rounds as you’ll need. Will you have the winning card?
Themed Trivia Not to be confused with a POP Quiz… Trivia is the opportunity to gather a team of family, friends, neighbors, or all the above and combine your knowledge to answer questions and win bragging rights throughout the community. Trivia consists of 3 rounds of questions with 12 questions in each round. The rounds get progressively harder but the value of points per answer also increase with each round. Telehealth or virtual visits allow you to talk with a provider just as you would in the doctor’s office, but without leaving the comfort of home. LANDSCAPING Hello from Down 2 Earth, My name is Aaron and I am the Account Manager for your community. Since February 1st, I’m sure you have noticed some positive changes happening throughout the boulevards, townhomes, parks and clubhouse. This is the first step in the rejuvenation process with many more to come. Throughout the Spring months (March, April and May), we typically focus on making sure the landscaping is ready for the summer heat by hard pruning ornamental material more sensitive to wilting. This gives the landscape a better chance of establishment when we get into the 90 plus degree weather on a more consistent basis. Here are some tips and pointers we hope you find useful: • If you are a single-family homeowner, make sure you check your irrigation at least once a month. • Set your watering times after 7pm and before 5am. This will ensure the ground as enough time to absorb the water before evaporation. • If you are experiencing turf wilting, it is OK to water intermittenly. Make sure to check your water coverage and verify the sprinklers are working there.
