ACV workshop ensures your CV makes an impression that lasts. Queen’s University Belfast has a unique opportunity to create tailored CV workshops for its international student community By doing so, QUB can empower students with practical tools and cultural insights, boosting their confidence and increasing their employability
“A CV isn’t just a list of achievements- it’s your story, told in a way that opens doors to your future.”
by Charmyn Woon
Such initiatives would not only enhance the student experience but also strengthen QUB’s reputation as a global, student-focused institution One of the most significant benefits of these sessions is understanding cultural differences in job applications Something as simple as the CV format or level of detail required can vary between countries. Workshops teach you what local employers expect so you don’t unintentionally send out red flags.
by Charmyn Woon
For my experience, after attending these workshops, I feel ready to apply for jobs With feedback and newly acquired CV editing skills, I now have the tools to present myself effectively to potential employers If you ’ re an international student at QUB- or any university- don’t hesitate Take that first step to join a CV workshop; it equips you with essential skills, cultural insights and confidence. Your future self will thank you.
Join us on Queen's campus for the Spring Careers Fair sponsored by EY, on Wednesday 5 February 2025, from 11am to 3pm. The event will be held across three locations: Mandela Hall, Whitla Hall, and South Dining Hall.
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with over 100 employers who are eager to discuss graduate roles, placements, internships, and work experience opportunities.
In addition to the Fair, we will also have a Go Global Showcase on the same day in The Cube at One Elmwood between 12pm and 2pm. This is a fantastic chance for students to explore unique adventures across a range of global programmes that can enhance their degree, international perspective, and overall university experience.
To attend the Fair, simply register through MyFuture using your Queen's login.
To support the diverse needs of our students, this year ’ s Spring Fair will again feature a period of ‘quiet time’ from 2.30 pm – 3.00 pm on both days, when numbers will be restricted and noise levels reduced.
Students registered with Queen’s Accessible Learning Support (previously Disability Services) can also access employers for one-to-one conversations in a dedicated quiet space, with several appointments available to book. Only pre-booked appointments can be accommodated on the day of the fair, and numbers are limited. Students have until Friday 26th January to book these appointments using the booking form, and they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Only eligible students should apply for this service. Student Quiet Time Registration Form
We look forward to seeing you there.
