FROM THE DESK OF Tawana Blassingame Founder & Editor in Chief

Welcome to the March 2020 issue of Queen Size Magazine. We are gearing up to celebrate our 100th issue release. Can you believe it? Not me! It is an indescribable feeling when I look back at where I came from. When I look back at that very first issue. LOL Oh My!!!!! I have readers that have supported us from day one. Readers who have watched our growth. I can’t say thank you enough for your support. We also have readers who are brand new, who are just getting to know us. They are no less important than our day ones. In an industry where the average magazine doesn’t make it past 3 years, we are still here and we owe it all to you all. Thank you! And speaking of support, let’s continue to support each other. We talk a lot about the brands that don’t support us; and I get it. We deserve to have just as many options as the next person. And yes we should keep on talking about it. But what I want to see is the individuals who are busy creating clothing for us get just as much conversation. Let’s talk more about them. It is no surprise to anyone that I am always rooting for the underdogs; the ones that have to fight ten times as hard just to win. There are some really good brands that cater to us. Why aren’t we making them rich? Why are we not trying to introduce them to the world of fashion that may not know who they are? They deserve to be mentioned in these conversations. I just wanted to get that off my chest. Go online and shout your favorite plus size brands once a week. Thank you all for continuing to support Queen Size Magazine. We would love to hear your feedback. Email us at queensizemagazine@gmail.com and let us know what you like, don’t like and/or want to see in future issues. We value your opinion. Be blessed and remember to be a blessing as well.

TOP 2020 FOOD TRENDS | BRANDPOINT

A new year always brings predictions about what trends will rise to popularity, and when it comes to food, there are plenty of trends already underway that will no doubt continue to surge over the next several months. The good news is both your taste buds and your health will likely benefit from the latest trends in eating and cooking.

A CELEBRATION OF GLOBAL FLAVORS 2020 is an exciting time to explore new flavors from around the world. A rich array of tantalizing ingredients and dishes from Latin America, the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia can now be found in restaurants and even grocery stores almost everywhere - and if you can’t find it in store, you can most certainly find what you’re looking for online. Thanks to the internet, recipes showcasing global cultures are also easy to access. Americans are more interested in expanding their palates than ever before, unveiling a whole new world of culinary experiences at the click of a button.

A BUMPER CROP OF PLANT-BASED FOODS A growing concern for environmentally sustainable diets - alongside the piqued interest in a healthy approach to eating - has combined to create an increased demand for plant-based foods. This trend goes beyond traditional salads and fruit into a world of deeply creative cooking, using a wide array of vegetables in all sorts of innovative ways. This also means incorporating more plant-based protein sources like beans and legumes in dishes, using non-dairy milk substitutes like almond and oat milk, finding meatless protein substitutions and cooking with natural plant-based sweeteners like agave syrup.

CUSTOMIZATION IS ALL THE RAGE Noodles & Company is a great example of a fast-casual restaurant that showcases all these 2020 food trends, including allowing customers to make personalized substitutions. You can dine in or conveniently order for pickup or delivery via the NoodlesRewards app. Menu

7

options range from classic favorite Wisconsin Mac & Cheese to new global delights like the Grilled Orange Chicken Lo Mein, available in restaurants nationwide beginning January 22. This worldly dish boasts authentic Asian flavors in a slightly sweet and tangy orange sauce, complemented by traditional Lo Mein noodles sautéed with fresh broccoli, carrots, snap peas, Napa and red cabbage, then finished with grilled chicken, green onions, black sesame seeds and cilantro. You can even customize any dish on the menu to suit your taste or diet. Eating more plant-based foods in 2020? Swap out Lo Mein for zucchini noodles (Zoodles) or the cauliflower-infused Caulifloodles while packing extra veggies and nutrients into your diet. Going vegan? Simply remove the chicken! No matter how it’s ordered, there are never any artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives, so clean eating in the New Year is convenient and easily customizable to any dietary preference or need.

CONSCIOUS EATING Clean eating means eating foods without additives and artificial ingredients. Today’s diners and home cooks demand transparency about ingredients and preparation. People interested in clean eating want to see respect for the ingredients. In other words, they want to be able to recognize everything that’s on the plate. They want their food to be less processed, with as few additives as possible - resulting in big, bold natural flavors.

SEASONINGS WITH ADDED HEALTH BENEFITS Seeking more flavorful food can also provide health benefits. Certain herbs and spices are trending not just due to their unique, strong flavors, but also because they have been shown to boost the body’s immune system, provide anti-inflammatory effects and contain antioxidants. Ginger, turmeric, garlic, cayenne and cinnamon are just some of the latest spices touted as being especially good for you. Keep up with the latest food trends and check out all the easy ways to make clean eating easy and delicious at more than 450 Noodles & Company restaurants nationwide at noodles.com.

My name is Shani Brinkley. I’m a NJ entrepeneur who became a holistic health and well-being coach and consultant after years of struggling with my weight. Through my two year journey of releasing over 75 pounds, I learned to love myself through the process. Friends and family wanted me to share my success, so I started my family business, the Hub Health Generator as a comprehensive company which connects families to health coaching, fitness and healthy food options. We won a grant and were able to offer free health and wellness classes to the community. Fast forward years later, my daughter and I moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE. While working as a teacher, I began supporting women’s groups as their resident health coach. One day a brillant idea came to me to begin The Women’s F.I.T. Show, a re-imagined fitness competition that showcases your healthy habits. My international event, The WFS has impacted hundreds of women’s lives by focusing on the realness of their journey to transformation. The WFS tribe cheers on each other’s stories, supports body confidence and inspires others to begin her healthy step. What I love about the WFS is that every size and shape struts down the runway proudly. With my brand, Feed Your Wellness, I’ve had 3 years of successful shows and events focusing on celebrating who you are right now and loving yourself through the process of change. My dress size doesn’t determine my worth. I am worthy because I am my authentic, beautiful self.

ENTREPRENUER SPOTLIGHT | SHANI BRINKLEY

QSM: Shani, let me first congratulate you on your initial decision to live a healthier lifestyle. This is something that most of us are struggling with. So good for you; and especially for wanting to now help others live healthier. You are a New Jersey native currently living in Dubai; what made you relocate all the way to Dubai? Shani: Thank you very much. I came to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates as a teacher. My daughter and I needed a change in our lifestyle. What we were doing wasn’t working. So, when I was recruited to teach in Abu Dhabi, UAE we decided to move and with curiosity and knees knocking we went for it. QSM: What is it like living in Dubai? Do you plan to come back to the States? Shani: Dubai, United Arab Emirates UAE) is like Disney World for adults, whatever you can dream up, its here. It’s very metropolitan with the dichotomy of the gorgeous desert and camels. On a given day, you can meet a person from another part of the world. I will definitely retire in the US, which is my home, always. While I’m young, I’ll continue to explore living abroad. QSM: Let’s discuss what exactly a holistic health and wellbeing coach is. Shani: My style of health and well-being coaching is about approaching your needs holistically. My brand, Feed Your Wellness, focuses on feeding your body from the inside out with what’s missing. I love getting to the root of the problem, the challenge, by taking the time to listen to what’s not working. Then beginning to heal the root of the issue from an inside out, emotional/mental/spiritual wellness approach. My clients have gone on to start walking clubs, give birth to twins, win Figure competitions, begin businesses, release hundreds of pounds of weight and ultimately love their bodies.

QSM: Do you go to school to become one or is there some sort of certification you need to obtain? Shani: I’ve been certified from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NY since 2011. I learned from the top health and wellness professionals in the field such as Dr. Mark Hyman, Deepak Chopra and founder, Joshua Rosenthal. I’m a lifelong learner, so I love taking new well-being courses online and in-person to add tools to my toolbox of resources. QSM: Let me ask you this, what is your overall definition of “healthy”? People seem to think that as long as you lose weight you are healthy. Shani: Being healthy has meant different things for me during different times in my life. As an overweight teen, “being healthy, “was completely about wearing clothes like all the other teens. After becoming a mother, “being healthy” meant paying attention to my emotional and mental well-being. Now as an established international wellness pioneer, “being healthy” means showing up for myself every day. It’s important that I eat at least 3 servings of green vegetables a day, as a drink or raw; I also have to move everyday by taking a walk, yoga stretching or exercise class and lately it’s meant giving myself grace. Being healthy is what you define as healthy for you. For some it’s drinking more water, quitting smoking or taking the time for self-care. In my experience, the healthiest people laugh every day and look at themselves in the mirror with love. Meal plans, fitness regimes, fitting into “skinny jeans” is what is purported as healthy and this is partly true. If I want to live to 100, I will have to make sure my body is equipped to carry me there, what I eat and how much I move is important. My well-being is just as integral to my longevity, therefore I make sure every day I measure where I am mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

QSM: Can we discuss the Women’s F.I.T. Show? Can you tell us more about what that is and how you got started with that? Shani: The Women’s F.I.T. Show is a re-imagined fitness competition that celebrates your healthy habits. Women from around the world share their personal stories of triumph and transformation. F.I.T. stands for Fitness Model, Inspiration and Transformation. Women enter each category and showcase their healthy habits, win prizes and inspire hundreds of women to embrace her body in whichever size or shape. Since 2017, we have helped over 300 women be inspired and begin her transformation to a woman who shines her light onto the world. It was my brainchild after helping women for 6 years feel better about themselves. I wanted an annual event that showcases our successes by emphasizing the process it takes to get there. Women learn how to walk a runway, share her story publicly and get supported on her journey. QSM: Are you able to share some of what your health and wellness plan looks like? Shani: Each wellness plan is tailored to my client’s individual needs. It is devised from our conversation, intuitive listening on my part and filling out a detailed questionnaire. Then together we develop a wellness plan that works best. I meet every client where they are focusing on what is showing up for them. QSM: In this plus industry, people are criticized a lot for our size. Is your level of health determined by your weight? Shani: What I love about the body positivity movement is that people of every size and shape are standing proudly together. I’ve been various sizes; oval, jiggly, round, square, and muscular, my personal triumph is loving each size. I like to use my waist measurement as gauge, my progress/ consistency with movement activities along with how I feel in my skin to determine my physical health. QSM: What are the healthiest foods that you recommend eating daily? Shani: Dark, leafy greens everyday (raw or lightly cooked)

WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|MARCH 2020 ISSUE

or in juice form, 8 or more glasses of water, start your day with warm lemon water 8 oz or more, raw nuts and organic berries. QSM: Is sleep really that important as it pertains to health? Shani: Sleep is one of the most important parts of being healthy. It’s also what’s missing in most people’s health plans. Sleep is when your body gets to reset and recharge. Your brain needs time to rejuvenate. My recommendation is to develop a bedtime routine; turn your cellphone on airplane mode and place it in another room; put on a sleep mask and make sure the room is dark and silent and turn off the TV. A great book on the importance of sleep is “Sleep Smarter” by Shawn Stevenson QSM: What is Feed Your Wellness? Shani: Feed Your Wellness is a 5D approach to fueling your body, mind and soul with what you need. It’s my brand which focuses on feeding/giving our bodies what they are lacking. Instead of taking things away, I like to feed your wellness with all of the good things you’re missing. The name Feed Your Wellness means you are in the driver’s seat fueling your wellness, I am a coach and a guide, and you are the CEO of your body. As the CEO of your body, mind and spirit, you determine how you want to feel, what is working and what needs to go, together we create the plan and you implement it. QSM: Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us. Where can people follow you Shani? Shani: Thank you for this tremendous opportunity to speak with your audience of absolutely fabulous men and women. I feel truly blessed for the platform and grateful for your hard work in creating it. Feel free to Sign up for your free gift and join my newsletter at www.feedyourwell.info Follow me on IG @ShaniHealthspark and my event @ WomensFITSHOW Join our conversation on Facebook in my private group, Feed Your Wellness.

Men’s Health Matters 5 tips to maintain overall wellbeing While family history and age cannot be changed, there are everyday steps men can follow to take charge of their health, including prostate health, and maybe even prevent problems down the road. Get checked out regularly. Just because you’re healthy doesn’t mean you should eschew routine checkups, and that includes self-examinations. While regular visits to your health care provider can keep you up-to-date on preventative screenings and immunizations, getting to know your own body can have similar benefits. Care for your prostate. If you’re experiencing frequent urination, a weak or slow urine stream, incomplete bladder emptying, difficulty or delay in starting urination or a urine stream that stops and starts, these may be signs you may be suffering from Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), otherwise known as enlarged prostate.1 Enlarged prostate, which is non-cancerous and affects more than 40 million American men, can also cause loss of productivity and sleep, according to research published in the “Journal of Urology.”2,3 Medication is often the first line of treatment, but some patients may suffer uncomfortable side effects including dizziness, headaches and sexual dysfunction, which can prompt them to quit using their medications.4 “Many men living with BPH symptoms take prescription medications after they have been diagnosed, but relief can be inadequate and temporary,” said Dr. Peter Walter, M.D., urologist and paid consultant for Teleflex Incorporated, the manufacturer of the UroLift(r) System. As one alternative to medication, an option like the UroLift System treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that doesn’t require any cutting,

heating or removal of prostate tissue.5 A urologist places small implants to lift and move enlarged prostate tissue so it no longer blocks the urethra and can allow for normal urine flow. Most common side effects are mild to moderate, and patients generally can return to their normal routines with minimal downtime. For more information about treatment options, or to find a urologist near you who treats BPH, visit UroLift.com. Focus on a more nutritious diet. Aim for a pattern of healthier eating that includes more fruits, vegetables and leafy greens such as lettuce, spinach, kale and broccoli, which can help keep you - and your prostate - healthy.6 Also try to cut back on consumption of red meat - specifically processed meat - as well as salt and sweets. Know your numbers. Be sure to discuss your family history and lifestyle with your doctor as he or she may recommend screenings for diseases and common ailments. Be sure to keep up with these screenings and check in with your doctor to make sure you’re accounting for milestone ages and common ailments associated with aging. Make exercise a priority. Exercise is a key to maintaining quality of life. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity for adults.7 Even shorter increments of physical activity multiple times a day such as a walking meeting, opting for the stairs instead of the elevator or parking farther from your destination can provide health and stress-relieving benefits. TRUST YOUR GUT: GET THE STORY ON PROBIOTICS WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|MARCH 2020 ISSUE

TRUST YOUR GUT | BRANDPOINT

15

We’re often told when we can’t make a decision, we should trust our gut. And there’s a healthy reason to do so. Gut health is about more than just healthy digestion. It’s linked to your immunity and overall well-being. That’s because below your belt lies a sophisticated system of organs powered by a community of beneficial bacteria called the microbiome. Your stomach, pancreas and liver, driven by the mighty microbiome, aids in digestion as it breaks down food, absorbs nutrients and extracts energy that fuels us every day. Maintaining the right balance of microbes in your gut not only helps digestion, it can be a powerful ally in keeping those New Year wellness resolutions. Support a healthy gut with these simple tips. 1. Keep moving Regular exercise can stimulate your digestive, metabolic and immune systems, arming your body with the protection it needs to fight off bad bacteria. 2. Fiber up Add dietary fiber, complex carbs, and plant proteins to your diet by increasing your intake of whole fruits, vegetables, and grains like oatmeal. These foods deliver nutrients that work naturally with your body to keep your digestive system in balance. 3. Pack a probiotic Probiotics are composed of helpful bacteria to help support immunity and healthy digestion. We usually think of bacteria as something that can cause disease, but probiotics are the good bacteria that can be very effective in keeping your gut healthy. Nutrilite™ Balance Within™ Probiotic is a once-a-day foundational supplement. It fills the nutritional gaps in your diet with probiotics you need to support gut health on-the-go. “With convenient packaging, designed to be quickly sprinkled on the tongue, on cold food or in a cold beverage, this probiotic helps your body maintain a balance of good bacteria in the gut while promoting immunity and aiding your body’s natural defenses,” said Kristin Morris, a senior research scientist with Nutrilite, the world’s #1 selling vitamin, supplement and minerals brand. 4. Do a gut check How can you be sure your probiotics product is delivering the benefits you need? According to Morris, what matters most is knowing what strains are included in the product and that there’s clinical support for those digestive and immune benefits. “It’s less about the actual quantity of probiotics than having the right level of probiotics,” she said. “Nutrilite Balance Within Probiotic was designed with the right balance of the right strains at the right levels for digestion and immune health.” Nutrilite Balance Within Probiotic goes through an extensive traceability process to ensure the product’s safety, purity and effectiveness. Check out Nutrilite’s traceability website to see how the full process works. WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM| MARCH 2020 ISSUE

elf-care is a phrase we hear all of the time but do we really know what it means? Do we know how to practice it? How often do we really take time out for ourselves? When we take a moment to ourselves we usually shop or attend an event. The founder and CEO Victoria Davis wanted to create plant-based ingredients and stepby-step instructions needed to craft your own chemical-free DIY beauty creations. Her DIY beauty box includes natural ingredients for all skin and hair types. You will find something that you will enjoy. Make It Classy is a do it yourself beauty product. It has no chemicals, dyes and all the ingredients are at your fingertips. This beauty product not only was fun to make but it allowed me to create something special just for me. This DIY not only provided a healthy alternative for my body but the perfect amount of time was spent just for me. Make IT Classy requires you to make it yourself. So it’s up to you to take the time, create the space and indulge a healthy finish product made by you. Not only does this brand provides all the ingredients that you need but you are learning about them as well. I tried the Loyal Leah DIY Clay Hair and Face Mask and Majestic Maya DIY Body Scrub. Clay has been used for centuries to preserve and detoxify the skin. It contains high-quality nutrients that reduce blemishes, remove dead skin cells and help smooth out your skin. Body scrubs are known for skin nourishment and leaving the skin soft and moisturized. Let me be honest. I had no idea what I was doing at first but I was so happy that each kit came with detailed instructions and plenty of information that didn’t leave me feeling confused, unsure and not confident. Recipe cards including step-by-step instructions on how to make the chosen DIY beauty recipe. The team even put in YouTube links for me to watch on my own before I started. The process was simple, messy and so much fun. After using the kits, I was able to store the remaining in the refrigerator. At the end of the day, the end of the week or end of the month. It’s very important that you practice selfcare. Supporting businesses like Make It Classy will allow you to physically practice loving yourself and giving your body something new. THE STATE OF YOUR S.K.I.N. Written by: Tavy Fields

Before you buy the newly released shadow palette, before you let your barber get your beard tight with the razor, before you have your favorite MUA beat your face – let’s talk about what’s underneath it all: YOUR SKIN. Oftentimes we focus on enhancing our skin with makeup or the latest grooming trend but we forget that the foundation of being flawless starts with healthy skin. The key to impeccable makeup application, a tight line game and getting the “glow” is the state of your skin. I’ve had an ongoing love affair with skincare most of my life. I can clearly remember my mom getting on my case because I used her last two eggs to make my egg white mask or had a kitchen cabinet full of concoctions I made by mixing flowers and water together in containers. As an adult my personal skincare routine is a balanced combination of my skin love and skin knowledge but it has always been straightforward while easy to manage. Even with my background in chemistry and being a licensed esthetician I believe in taking the difficulty out of taking care of your skin. My goal in this article is to make skincare simple for you so I’ve summarized the process with an acronym. Sustenance Know Your Type Invest in Product Normalize a Routine

SUSTENANCE Healthy skin starts with sustenance, the food and beverage you consume. There is a direct correlation between your skin condition and what you put in your body daily. I don’t believe in restrictive lifestyles; I simply believe in making healthy choices. One of the most common skin conditions is dehydrated skin due to lack of hydration. Daily water consumption is paramount. It helps to hydrate, flush the system and serves as a vehicle for nutrient transport. I am not going to recommend that you drink X amount per day or give you a fancy calculation based upon body weight – just drink as much water as you can. Start replacing sodas and sweetened juices with H2O. If your palette craves flavors you can jazz things up with coconut water, herbal teas or water “add ins” like flavor packets. When it comes to fruits and vegetables aim to “eat the rainbow”. Eating a variety will ensure that you are getting various nutrients that are signature to specific fruits and veggies. You can never have enough of the good stuff. Nuts and seeds are also packed with beneficial vitamins and nutrients that your skin craves. There are some skin experts who advise that for the optimal skin health one should avoid meat completely. I’ve personally had periods in my life where I’ve been a vegetarian, a pescatarian or a keto meat-eating machine. I’ve been able to maintain good skin health no matter the particular phase I was in. Regardless of your meat preference I recommend that you work to make wise meat choices. Fatty fish are sources of Vitamin E and Omega 3 acids, which help skin maintain a healthy oil balance. Limit red meats and pork, which can be higher in saturated fats and salt. Processed foods, cow’s milk, sugar and gluten have been linked to skin complications like acne, prematurely aging skin and inflammation. When these foods have been limited or eliminated in diets many people experience a vast improvement in their skin conditions. Use your personal judgment when choosing products with these ingredients. I recommend that you engage in a brief elimination diet for a few weeks to determine if you have any sensitivities or skin reactions to these foods. During an elimination diet you completely eliminate the specific foods in this group for a few weeks and then slowly add them back individually into your diet. If you have any improvements during elimination or adverse reactions when you add them back this may indicate that you have a sensitivity to a specific food.

Tavy Fields KNOW YOUR TYPE Believe it or not there’s a lot of confusion between skin type and skin condition. Your skin type is determined by your DNA and genetically passed down to you from your parents. The classification of your skin type is determined by the amount of lipids in the skin and the amount of oil the sebaceous glands produce. There are four basic skin types: dry, normal, combination and oily. Skin conditions and disorders are changes in the skin due to internal or external stimuli. Conditions can include sensitivity, dehydration, aging, acne, pigmentation disorders, inflammatory responses and hormonal/medicine/ disease induced conditions. I encourage you to get to know your skin type so that you know what your skin needs as it relates to product and daily care. • Dry skin lacks the natural oil that skin typically produces. This type of skin thrives off of products that help it to hold on to oil and provide moisture. Look for products that contain key words: humectant, hyaluronic acid, natural oils, hydrating • Oily skin produces too much oil so it needs products that provide oil balance and exfoliation of the pores. Bacteria can also find a home in the clogged pores of oily skin. Look for products that contain key words: deep cleansing, clay, charcoal, vitamin A, salicylic acid containing, mattifying Combination skin is a combination of skin types on various areas of the face so you may need to use products to address each area’s need. Normal skin has a typical oil production but needs products that help it to maintain its overall balance. Knowing your skin type can help you avoid investing in products that you don’t need or that could cause damage to your skin. If you suffer from a skin condition or disorder I strongly recommend that you visit a knowledgeable esthetician and a dermatologist. An esthetician or skin therapist can analyze your skin and provide you with regular skin care services specifically designed to improve your condition. Most estheticians sell at home care products to their clients so they can provide recommendations for your skincare routine. Keep in mind that estheticians are not doctors so they cannot diagnose conditions or prescribe medication. A dermatologist can provide a medical diagnosis along with prescriptions for medicines if needed. You should also consider your diet, environmental exposures, stress level and medications you ingest to determine

what additional lifestyle changes may need to be made. INVEST IN PRODUCT You don’t have to break the bank for skin care but you do have to at least buy a few product staples for your skin. You would be surprised how many people tell me that their skin care routine consists of washing their face with soap and moisturizing with Vaseline. Believe it or not I don’t judge them at all. Especially if what they use has yielded results. Just keep in mind that as we age our skin needs can change and it’s important that we start incorporating products that will help us to maintain healthy skin. Here are a few of my favorite skincare lines with varying price ranges: • Breedlove Beauty Co. by Kelli Palmer is a company out of Baton Rouge that boasts minimalist, natural skincare. The price points for all of the products are very reasonable and the ingredients are simple yet effective. If you want to get inspired read Kelli’s story about how she started her line in her kitchen. Visit breedlovebeautyco on Instagram for ordering information. My favorite product from Breedlove Beauty Co. is the Rose Water Toner. $ • DermaMed Solutions DM Skincare provides plant based, clinical formulations that focus on treating inflammation, which is the source of most skin conditions. I use DermaMed solutions for my client services at my skincare spa, The Body Bank in Greensboro, NC. They carry both a home skincare and clinical line. The ingredients are simple, natural and effective. Visit dermamedsolutions.com to learn more. My favorite product from DM Skincare is the CBDetox Charcoal Mask. $$$ • Pixi Beauty boasts that its products are the fountain of youth. With formulations that contain anti-aging powerhouses like glycolic acid, collagen, rose, Vitamin C and retinol I would have to agree. You can find Pixi in Target stores with its recognizable mint green display or visit pixibeauty.com. My favorite product from Pixi is the Glowtonic Toner with 5% Glycolic Acid. $$ • Korres is the result of the collaboration of pharmacist and chemical engineer team George and Lena Korres. This line uses natural ingredients with biochemically based formulas. Their products are ingredient based and designed to address specific skin needs. Visit korresusa.com to explore each line. My favorite product from Korres is the Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser. $$$

NORMALIZE A ROUTINE Let’s keep the routine simple. I recommend that you engage in a morning and night routine each day. Morning & Night: CLEANSE, TONE, day/night SERUM, MOISTURIZER with SPF Once or Twice a Week: EXFOLIATE and USE A MASK Cleanse your skin in the shower or at the sink. You don’t have to buy a fancy cloth, loofah or hand mitt – just use your bare hands. Your hands are the perfect tool because of their texture and they provide the skin with a massage that can increase blood flow. Washcloths, mitts and sponges can sometimes be too harsh, breed bacteria and cause abrasions. Dampen your face, place your cleanser in your hands and lather away. Use toner to balance your skin’s pH. Skin has a naturally, slightly acidic pH of around 6. When you introduce products to the skin they can lower or raise your skin’s pH. Toners bring the pH back to normal and create a healthy skin environment. Serums are used to provide essential nutrients to the skin. Most are designed to address skin conditions such as aging, acne, dehydration or pigmentation. Apply a serum to your skin before applying your moisturizer. There are some serums that are formulated for daytime use and others that are formulated for nighttime use. Nighttime serums are essential because your skin cells work to repair themselves while you sleep.

your skin type’s needs. I highly recommend a moisturizer that contains sunscreen/SPF. Sunscreen is often an after thought for most people. It is imperative that we protect our skin from UVA and UVB rays throughout the day and everyone needs sunscreen regardless of how much or how little melanin your skin contains. Darker skin can burn and is prone to hyperpigmentation, which can be triggered by sun exposure. Exfoliate your skin one to two times per week in order to remove dead skin cells, promote blood flow and trigger collagen production. Masks are a great way to deliver deep penetrating ingredients to the skin. Take the time to pamper yourself by including a mask during your evening or weekend routine at least once a week. Good skincare does not have to be daunting or complicated. Just remember that the state of your S. K. I. N. can be tremendously impacted by a few simple practices. Food intake, knowing your skin needs, products and skincare routines are essential to your skin health. Visit your local esthetician once or twice a month for specialized skincare maintenance and visit a dermatologist for major skin conditions and concerns.

Getting to know Tavy

32

QSM: Tell me about Tavy Tavy: Who is Tavy? I am Carolina girl who was born and raised in Kinston, NC. My experiences in Kinston, attending an HBCU, my family and my faith in God have helped to shape who I am today. People who really know me would describe me as creative, driven, bold, fun and passionate about life. My favorite things are: good food, good coffee/tea, traveling, music, the movies, fast cars, doing kind deeds and quiet time. Education & Career: I am a proud “AGGIE” who attended North Carolina A & T State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Education. My Master of School Administration is from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Education and working with youth have been my life’s passions. I taught middle school science and math, supported teachers as an instructional coach, worked as an assistant principal and for the past six years I served as a school principal. My colleague, CJay @cjayevoled, and I give back by hosting events for women called Purpose Parties. We share our experiences, engage in activities to address issues from the past and inspire others to discover their purpose. When I find a good deal on a property I like or have time I also invest in real estate with a group of friends. QSM: Busy lady!!!! What made you get into the modeling field? Tavy: In the past I’ve modeled as a favor for friends, etc. Modeling was a creative outlet that I enjoyed and it gave me a sense of freedom. In front of the camera I didn’t have to be Miss Fields; I could be Tavy. A few years ago my colleague, Angela, mentioned to me that her daughter’s Agency was looking for curvy models. I went in for a meeting at Marilyn’s Agency in Greensboro, NC and was signed to a contract that same day. I have modeled and acted professionally with Marilyn’s Agency for the past four years. My work includes print, commercial, fit, lifestyle, medical/product demo, acting roles and runway. QSM: Has it been all that you hoped it to be? Tavy: I believe that your attitude determines what modeling is for YOU. Modeling is not about me; modeling is a conduit for my greater purpose. Modeling has been a blessing for me. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities and I’ve met some awesome people all while getting paid. Most importantly modeling has provided me with a platform that I use to inspire others. My goal is to

let the next generation of little girls and boys from Kinston (or any small town) know that anything is possible. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, your size or age - you can manifest what you desire. Because of modeling and my background in education I’ve served on numerous panels, engaged in body positivity work and given advice to others who want to pursue their dreams. QSM: Good for you! Now give us the good and the bad. Lol Tavy: The Good: I love modeling! It’s incredibly fun for me. Every set, every crew and every job is different. When you can get paid to do something that doesn’t feel like traditional work that is true freedom. As I mentioned before modeling has provided me with a platform to give back and inspire others. It’s bigger than ME. I truly believe that God has given me this opportunity in order to pour into others and represent the industry with style, grace and love. There are perks to modeling. You are often gifted items or asked to try out products. I often get clothes for free or at deeply discounted rates. I used to fit model for a major activewear company and they would often gift me items to keep, wear and review. One of my clients even gifted me a brand new mattress for my work on set. For this particular client I have to take pictures and video on various mattresses and give feedback on their comfort, responsiveness and quality. My feedback is compiled into a review that helps people decide what mattress they want to buy. Through modeling I’ve been able to meet some amazing people. Those people have become close colleagues and friends over the years. The Bad: You must have a thick skin and remember that your goal is to make the clothes or product sell. I’ve had times that I’ve gone on go sees and I’ve been told I was too small, too tall or too large. Most of the time this information is delivered frankly but not in a mean spirited way. I remember vividly being told one time that my thighs were one inch larger than a company’s specifications. They wanted to book my look but I would have to lose the inch first. The bottom line is that you can’t take the critiques personally. Just remember that the company wants their clothing to look its best according to their measurements. Always remember that every NO gets you closer to a YES. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself. If you aren’t a fit just move on to the next opportunity or choose to sensibly make the changes necessary if the job is something you really want.

When you are a paid model you lose some control of your personal look. If I want to alter or dye my hair I have to consult with my agency first to see if my clients will still book my look and if it fits their creative direction. I steer away from temporary styles like braids and weaves due to the fact that you never know when a booking might occur and clients want you to look like your digitals. I do keep a few wigs on hand for variety. Even losing or gaining weight can change your clients and model category. My nails are always clear, OPI Bubble Bath or OPI Love is in the Bare because most clients want you to have neutral nails that don’t distract from the clothing. In the past I used to love getting my nails done and rocking colors, glitter and designs. Not anymore! I have to stay ready because there are times that I get an agency call the evening before a gig that’s scheduled for the next morning. With any career you will always have to work to navigate human interactions. Most of my experiences have been positive but every now and then you can run into a person with a poor attitude. Just remember that you are in control of you and only you. Maintain your focus on the work that has to be completed and maintain your positivity. You can be positive without allowing someone to disrespect or belittle you. Most of the people who have worked with me will tell you that I am always kind and positive on set. That is who I am and I believe that treating people right goes a long way. QSM: Let’s talk about your journey to becoming an esthetician. Why an esthetician? Tavy: I knew two years ago that I was going to eventually transition out of my position as a principal and move into entrepreneurship. My goal was to have flexibility, creative freedom and build a legacy for my lineage. During that two years I worked to prepare and build other streams of income. Part of my preparation included downsizing and living minimally. I sold my home that I purchased several years ago in order to build up capital for my transition and for investments in myself as well as projects. This was extremely hard for me because I loved my home but I was willing to make the sacrifices that were necessary. Little did I know that the sale of my home would spark my interest in real estate investment! I moved into an apartment so that I could have mobility and not have to worry about maintenance. My lifestyle downsized as well so that I could save money. I paid off all my major bills, decreased my spending and budgeted strictly. Unnecessary expenses like cable, monthly subscriptions, conveniences, etc. we’re cut. This is the part that many entrepreneurs don’t mention. Sometimes you have to literally give up everything to pursue your dreams. In order to continue modeling/acting, my work with Purpose Parties and real estate investment I needed to have complete control of my schedule. I loved working in education but I did not have the flexibility I desired. I’ve always loved skincare and with my background in WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|MARCH 2020 ISSUE

Chemistry I had an understanding of product ingredients. Being a model also introduced me to the complex world of skincare treatments, body contouring and makeup artistry. Models and actors invest a great deal in skin and body care. It’s a part of maintaining your personal brand and it is a billion dollar industry. All of my degrees and certifications were in education and I wanted to have a certification outside of that realm so that I had options. Obtaining my certification in aesthetics just made sense. I could do something I loved, build my own schedule and earn income in between gigs. I did some investigating and found Health and Style Institute. They offered a part time, certification course in the evenings and it took me a little over six months to complete. QSM: Congratulations on the opening of The Body Bank. That is a huge deal. Is this your full time job? Tavy: Thank you! We are excited about opening our doors in February 2020. Operating The Body Bank will be my main focus but is not my only occupation. I believe in having multiple streams of income that are both passive and active. Here’s what I do: Model & Act (active) Spa Owner and Operator of The Body Bank (active) Host Purpose Parties (booked according to our schedule and availability) Consulting and presenting for select projects (educational, philanthropic, etc. on an as needed basis) Real Estate Investment (80% passive) QSM: Beautiful and smart. What can people expect to experience when they book a session with you and services do you offer? Tavy: I wanted to create an environment for women and men that was positive. Skin and body care are very personal to us and it takes a ton of vulnerability to share with your esthetician your skin and body concerns. My goal is to be someone that my clients can confidently confide in and I want to provide the healing that each client needs mentally, spiritually and physically. A few years ago I had a personal bout with Alopecia that resulted in the loss of 50% of my hair. I sought the help of a dermatologist, herbalist and skin specialist. I know how it feels to have skin concerns that you are hiding or apprehensive to discuss. Thankfully my hair grew back fully with a combination of traditional medicine, alternative medicine and skincare. With the hustle and bustle of the world we live in we often don’t take time out to engage in proper self-care. The Body Bank - Where Your Body is Your Greatest Investment is the place where you can focus on you! We offer affordable: Facials, Skincare Treatments, Scalp Treatments for Hair-loss, Wood Therapy (for cellulite), Vacuum Therapy (for slimming, cellulite and buttock enhancement), Cavitation & Laser Lipo (for areas of fat reduction), and Basic Waxing and Makeup Application.

QSM: Can you tell us what the difference between an aesthetician and a dermatologist is? Tavy: An esthetician has completed a certification program and is formally licensed by the state they work in. Most Estheticians also take additional workshops and training after their certification in order to gain additional knowledge and specialize in specific areas. S/he has an extensive knowledge of the skin and can provide skincare services for the face and body. A dermatologist is a doctor who has obtained a medical degree from a university. They are able to formally diagnose skin conditions and prescribe medications to treat those conditions. QSM: When and how should a person decide whether they should seek the help of one over the other? Tavy: An esthetician can provide you with skincare maintenance, product recommendations and help to improve various skin conditions. Regardless of your skin type I recommend that everyone get facials at least once or twice a month. They provide deep cleansing, specialized treatments and skin pampering. The services that your esthetician provides can help you maintain skin health between dermatologist visits if you have a skin condition. Visit a dermatologist if you have skin conditions like severe acne, aging, skin abnormalities, hyperpigmentation, scalp concerns, etc. Your dermatologist can provide you with a diagnosis and prescription medicines to treat the condition. There are also many dermatologists who are now operating MedSpas. These are facilities that provide services that an esthetician would provide along with laser treatments, injections and dermatologist services. If you have a concern and you’re unsure of where to start I would suggest visiting an esthetician first. They can begin initial treatments and then refer you to a dermatologist based upon your needs.elective. QSM: Estheticians don’t accept insurance plans do they? Tavy: That would be wonderful but most aesthetic procedures are considered elective. QSM: How do you determine what facial and procedures are best for a person’s skin? Tavy: When a client visits The Body Bank they fill out a brief questionnaire that provides me with an overall skin story from their perspective. I then conference with the client to get additional information and discuss concerns. I then conduct a cleanse of the face to remove makeup and debris. This allows me to analyze the skin under a magnifying lamp. I’m able to see the skin, feel the skin and discuss my observation with the client. After my analysis I then select the products and treatments that I will use for that session. I carry a variety of products for various skin types and conditions. When the facial is over I recommend home care, products and a treatment plan for future visits.

QSM: What is the purpose behind exfoliating your skin? And can you over exfoliate? Tavy: Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. We can exfoliate mechanically or chemically. Mechanical exfoliation involves physically removing dead skin cells by rubbing finely ground scrubs on the skin, using exfoliating tools or a machine. Chemical exfoliation involves the use of an acid or enzyme to dissolve the dead skin cells chemically. Chemical exfoliants can be in the form of toners with a low percentage of acid, fruit enzyme creams or a concentrated chemical peel. These processes help to reveal new skin cells. When we don’t exfoliate our pores can become clogged with dead skin cells and oils, we become more prone to ingrown hairs and our skin can have a dull appearance. Yes you can over exfoliate. When you over exfoliate your skin can become overly sensitive, raw in areas and flake/peel. I recommend that you exfoliate one to two times per week. Use a product that is beneficial to your skin type. Chemical peels should be administered by a skincare professional. QSM: In terms of sunscreen; how would one determine which level of sunscreen they should be using? Tavy: Regardless of your skin type or concentration of melanin your daily routine should include a sunscreen with an SPF between 20-30. Many people assume that darker skin cannot burn or tan; that is false. UVA and UVB rays can cause skin damage, hyperpigmentation and other concerns. Everyone needs sunscreen. There are great moisturizers on the market that have sunscreen in them so that you don’t have to use two products. When you are planning a prolonged day outside or visiting the beach be sure to up the SPF to at least 50 or more. I personally go as high as I can with the SPF because my skin is reactive to the sun. Look for sunscreens that are designed for the face and are noncomedogenic which means it should not clog pores or cause comedones (blackheads or whiteheads). On darker skin sunscreen can appear hazy and make the skin look gray. Look for sunscreens that boast clear application or have low to no amounts of titanium dioxide. QSM: Speaking of makeup, are there any particular ingredients that we should be looking for or staying away from in our makeup products? Tavy: My rule of thumb is to pay close attention to the ingredients. The goal is to be able to pronounce most of the ingredients and have some familiarity with them. If there are too many chemicals or unfamiliar substances you might want to reconsider. Remember that ingredients are listed from the most to the least amount contained in a product. Look for products that say non-comedogenic which means it should not clog pores or cause comedones (blackheads or whiteheads). Alcohol gets a bad rap but some skin types need alcohol to control oil. Just be sure to monitor the amount of alcohol in your products because excessive alcohol can cause drying of the skin.

QSM: Now I know that people would love for me to keep picking your brain to get more info but I think it would be better for them to book a personal session; don’t you think? Lol Tavy: A personal session is always best. I can provide general skincare recommendations but a personal session allows me to give you recommendations based upon your skin type and condition specifically. There is no replacement for seeing the skin and interacting with the client. QSM: You are located in Greensboro, NC, for those that don’t live in NC is there any chance that you be expanding into other states anytime soon? Or do you travel? Tavy: My goal for The Body Bank is to expand into a franchise with locations in several cities and states. That is the vision. We have a plan for our next North Carolina location and I have already obtained my license in another state that we plan to expand to soon (smiles). Through our work I want to provide new estheticians with a vehicle to start a business with support. We are willing to travel for special events. eth Martino is a 33 year old stay-at-home father of five from Southern California who has been modeling for 2 years. It was a random change in his life but he has seen a tremendous amount of growth. He started by flying from Los Angeles to New York to attend a casting call for Full Figured Fashion Week, which he ended up landing. After walking in that show he knew he wanted to continue to pursue modeling, but he had no idea how much it would really change the direction of his career choices. “I don’t think I’ll be the next supermodel but I enjoy the pursuit of something that is new and unique and scary.” Seth has walked for Gwen DeVoe in Full Figured Fashion Week’s Baewalks male showcase, The Curvy Fashionista’s TCF Style Expo 2018 and 2019, he’s shot a commercial with his daughter, Crusade of Curves 2019, shot with some of his dream photographers, and partnered with multiple brands to showcase product and build his own brand awareness, and even designed his own outfits for a photoshoot. He also styles and themes all of his own looks.

“After my first year in the industry I really started to develop a deeper understanding of what it would mean to try and make a name for myself. There is still a look or a standard that the industry requires in order to be signed to an agency or to even be taken seriously as a male plus-size model so I knew I would have to make things happen for myself.” Aside from attending casting calls for new modeling opportunities Seth has also started documenting his journey and presenting it for the world on multiple social media platforms. Aside from his modeling Instagram (@freshtoseth) Seth also manages a brand called The Model Father. You can watch videos about shows he’s walked in on YouTube or read about things close to him on his blog at www.themodelfather.com. “I don’t think I’m an actual model parent. It’s just a play on words. In fact I want to use my platforms to share more about things that are important to me. Things like fashion for non-straight-size men of course, but so many other things. I often don’t feel like I’m a great father which was my reason for starting The Model Father. It was an opportunity to create content with my kids to show interest in something that they love. I also want to talk about issues men are facing that aren’t often talked about. Things like mental health, faith, monogamy, role reversal in the home, how social media is effecting how we interact with one another, diet and exercise and even addictions to food and pornography. I know that may come as a shock to some people but I realized early on that there are things that people just aren’t talking about.” So what does the future hold for Seth? “Above all else I will continue to strengthen my relationship with God, my marriage, and my children. I hope to continue to grow in my craft, I want to learn more about posing and walking, I will continue to strengthen my portfolio and taking applying to agencies seriously. I’m exploring acting and singing, and learning all I can about different social media platforms and the business side of them. I have already been confirmed to walk in at least one show this year and I hope to lock down two more before the end of the year. I want to be more consistent in my content, and then I will start setting aside time and energy to bringing a garment to market and starting a creative support group in my local area. My goal is to become a force for men and an ally to women in this plus fashion industry. I’m not going anywhere any time soon.” WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM| MARCH 2020 ISSUE

Chania, Greece, took the top spot, followed by three Portuguese destinations: Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto and Lisbon. Catania, Italy, rounded out the top five. For those seeking to stay stateside, four of Vrbo’s top five United States destinations this year are beaches, including: Gulf Shores, Alabama; Miramar and Rosemary Beach, Florida; Panama City Beach, Florida; and Maui, Hawaii.

Rental demand data in Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta and a number of other urban destinations showed the single largest traveler origin market for each city was that same city.

“‘Cele-cations,’ when people seek accommodations While there’s plenty to be said for taking the proverbial road less traveled, fellow tourists can provide a wealth of knowledge to help shape a vacation filled with lifelong memories.

to host and spend time with groups of family and friends for milestone events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, may be fueling the trend of people booking vacation homes in the same cities where they live,” said Melanie Fish, Vrbo travel expert.

Whether you expect your travel plans for 2020 to take you near or far, having a pulse on how and where others enjoy spending their travel time may help narrow down your options. Start planning your next getaway armed with the findings of a trend report compiled by vacation rental app and website Vrbo, especially when it comes to selecting a destination and your accommodations.

Also high on the trend list: short-stay, drivable destinations located within 300 miles of home.

Unique Accommodations

If an outdoor getaway is your ideal trip, consider destinations like Terlingua, Texas, located just a short distance from Big Bend National Park; Bella Vista, Arkansas, situated in the Ozarks near majestic lakes; Westport, Washington, surrounded by a bay to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west; Cherry Log, Georgia, which sits in the heart of Chattahoochee National Forest; and Edisto Island, South Carolina, a charming beachside retreat 1 hour from Charleston.

Traditional vacation home favorites like beach houses, cabins and condos still reign supreme, but adventurous American travelers are staying in some unusual options. In fact, 71% of millennial travelers said they would consider staying at a nontraditional vacation rental. In addition to barns, castles and treehouses, properties on wheels and properties that float join the ranks of unusual accommodations travelers are booking. Travel demand for houseboats, yachts, RVs and travel trailers is up 30% year-overyear.

Their names may not be familiar to the masses, but each of the top emerging domestic vacation destinations shares one thing in common: outdoor appeal. Places that appeal to families and other groups of travelers looking to explore the great outdoors are seeing a major surge over the past three years.

“This is the third year in a row travelers’ desire to be outdoors has filled the up-and-coming destinations list,” Fish said. “Clearly, people want the comforts of a home away from home while soaking in scenery.” Find the trends and accommodations that match your 2020 travel dreams at vrbo.com.

STOP WAITING TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS | NYEMADE BOIWU

STOP WAITING TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS! “Don’t wait on your weight to live the life you want”. – Cece Olisa It’s so crazy to think that one sentence could change your life but that’s exactly what happened with me. September 2017 I was coming off the tail end of one of the longest depression cycles I had had to date. With the mental fog starting to clear I began to do my usual reassessment of where I was in life and how things were going. Around this time I happened upon one of Cece Olisa’s YouTube videos. It ended with a phrase that would change the trajectory of my life – “Don’t wait on your weight to live the life you want.” It was like one of those cheesy moments in the movies where the heavens open up, the beam of light shines down, and you hear the hallelujah chorus as the protagonist has a moment of dawning. That was the moment I realized that’s EXACTLY what I had been doing the past few years. As of 2015ish I had begun to form a new vision for my future. I’ve always been good at communicating with others. So, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue more. I wrote down goals and the steps I thought it would take to achieve them. I realized, however, that they all started with – “When I lose weight, I’ll …”. After hearing the quote one word kept repeating in my head, “Why?”. Why was I waiting until I lost weight to start working on my goals? Why was I waiting until I thought I met other people’s expectations of what I should look like physically before pursuing my dreams? Would I be more intelligent once I lost weight? Would I have a better personality once I lost weight? Would I care more about helping people or raising awareness about social issues more once I lost weight? The answer to all of those questions was a resounding - NO! All of those things apply to me right now as I currently am. It may be coming from an extra-large package but the core will always be the same. Yes, I’m still working on losing weight but it’s not about gaining acceptance from others. It’s about getting healthy and being my definition of the best version of me. It’s about learning what my body needs to feel great and operate the way that I need it to so I can accomplish all those goals I have. The difference now is that I’m not waiting until I get to a certain size before I work on those goals.

People will accept me or they won’t. They’ll be able to look past the outer package to see the quality and character of the person inside - or they won’t. Heck, some people might even like the outer package! Because let’s be honest, fat or not, I’m still cute! Either way, I’m no longer waiting on my weight to live the life I want. After I made the decision to stop waiting for my weight the next decision I made was to move from Tampa to Delaware. I moved to DE May 2018 with the intent of beginning to pursue those dreams. Now here we are almost two years later. My life has done a 180 from where I was when I first heard that phrase. I have started my YouTube channel and I do IG lives where I interview various people. I’ve had articles published in various papers and magazines. I host monthly Community Conversations to bring people together to discuss important, social issue topics. I’m continuously covering more events as a Social Media Correspondent. I’ve also gotten involved in helping nonprofits again, which is a huge passion of mine. I’m a community presenter for NAMI Delaware. the Executive Director of Every Man Counts and the Program Director for Empower & Education. This is just the beginning. I still have so much to learn and I have so many other ideas I plan to bring to fruition. I’m not going to say that it’s always easy to force myself to go out. I’m not going to pretend like I don’t see the judgment in people’s eyes when they look at me. I won’t lie and say my feelings are never hurt by it. However, I don’t let fear of that judgment keep me at home. I put a smile on my face, hold my head high, and walk into the room regardless of the thoughts of others. I can do this because I know that inside the outer appearance, they’re seeing is a kind, intelligent, talented, fun person. After speaking to me for a few minutes they tend to know it too. It’s not always comfortable putting myself out there. However, I’ve found that with each new event I attend or project I begin it gets easier. For me it was my weight but so many people have different things in life they allow to hold them back from following their dreams such as their age, sexuality, race, gender, etc. The question is - why? Really take a moment and ask yourself why you’re letting the fear of judgment from others stop you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do. You’re the only person who has to live in your shoes so don’t let how others might see you hold you back. You only get one life to live so live it to the fullest!! As long as you’re breathing you still have time to take steps to pursue your dreams. You just have to get over that first hurdle and make the decision to try. It’s the hardest hurdle but it’s so worth it. You’re worth it - so stop waiting!
