WORST DRESSED

at the 2017 MET GALLA

Wrap-up

QueenTeam Fashion Guru Kevin Cruz for the Red Carpet Best and Worst

The Met Gala's theme this year was "avant garde". It seems some of the stars had misunderstood the theme. Here are 2017 Met Gala worst dressed.

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

MADONNA

Wearing: Moschino - Madonna, where do we draw a line? I feel that this outfit was much more of a costume than a creative piece of fashion. It was almost a joke really. I get the concept of having a theme but it doesn't work. I would have loved to see her in a shade of blue, very flowing dress with a long a train and have diamonds hanging from her head. It would have been more dressed up, more dramatic and would have made more of a statement. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

BELLA HADID

Wearing: Alexander Wang - Oh Bella! She is a beautiful girl, great body and I actually really enjoy her body suit. I feel that there was nothing wrong with what she wore, I just wanted more. I would have added a full skirt, burgundy ball gown skirt with a long train. And a green fur shawl over the shoulders. That would have added different fabrics, textures and the colors would be appealing to the eye. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

SOLANGE’

Wearing: Thom Browne - Another fashion icon that disappointed. Solange has been seen in great pieces, like her metallic number at the Grammys. However this look seems rushed and an attempt to be high fashion but it falls short with the rectangular train. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

FELICITY JONES Wearing: Erdem - This look is very confusing. The color is very pretty, the soft fabric is very pretty, however the design is horrific. She is covered up to the neck down to her wrists- doesn't work.

QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

RICK OWNES & MICHELE LAMY NO WORDS, I ABSOLUTELY CAN-NOT.

QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

CRISSY TIEGAN & JOHN LEGEND Wearing: She is in Custom Marchesa. He is in Burberry - This couple always looks great, however I must say, John Legend took this one. I love Chrissy's dress, it is dramatic, it is elegant, beautiful lace and gorgeous detail at the bottom. However I feel that there is too much of the feathers on the shoulder. I would have simply left those feathers out and it would have been a great look. Also probably a high ponytail to add more drama to her face. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

SERENA WILLIAMS

Wearing: Atelier Versace - The soon to be mother looked great against the emerald green dress. Her choice of color was spot on, but the design aspect was lacking for me. I would have liked to see something off the shoulder, more delicate. I think that if the dress was off the shoulders it would make the world of a difference. I love the short hair, seemed to be a trend last night, but the design of the dress is lacking. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

NICKI MINAJ

Wearing: Custom H&M - Apology to all of the Barbiz, but Nicki's look did not cut it for me. I think that she went the easy way out, with a long cape. Truly, there was nothing special about her outfit. I felt she has done it before and it was not well thought out. The designed seemed cheap and not of great quality. I love that she was making a fashion statement by wearing H&M, however, the look was not one that I enjoyed. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

WORST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

KIM KARDASHIAN-WEST

Wearing: Vivienne Westwood - Shockingly enough, the fashion icon has left us very disappointed. Kim always goes all out, but this year she decided that simplicity was best. Being that the theme was of such drama, I believe that she was dressed beautifully but for the wrong event. I would have paired this gown with a heavy distressed green coat, or would have added a head piece and more of a train to make the dress a little more dramatic. It seems that post robbery Kim isn't as shiny- we will just have to see what she gives us next. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz QueenTeam Fashion Guru by: Keivin Cruz

BEST DRESSED at the 2017 OSCARS

Wrap-up

QueenTeam Fashion Guru Kevin Cruz for the Red Carpet Best and Worst dressed Wrap Ups

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

RIHANNA

Wearing: Comme de Garรงons and Dsquared2 shoes - And to you we present the mother of the Met Gala! Year after year Rih gives us something great to look forward to. In 2015, she took our breaths away with Guo Pei's yellow fur cape. Vanity Fair names her "red carpet winning-dress". This look is great because she is playing with different textures, different shapes and patterns. She knows exactly how to let everything work together, nothing over powers the other, yet nothing falls short. This is definitely the best look of the night. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

PRIYANKA CHOPRA Wearing: Ralph Lauren Collection and Jennifer Fisher earring - Chopra elevated the oh-so-classic trench to new heights–and lengths.

QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

ZENDAYA

Wearing: Dolce & Gabbana and Forevermark jewelry - The actress made an all-over tropical print, full ball skirt and mussed afro feel effortless.

QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

LILY ALRIDGE

Wearing: Ralph Lauren Collection - Aldridge stunned in a cutaway look and thigh-high boots that could not have felt fresher for her typically classic-meets-boho style. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

STELLA TENNANT Wearing: Comme de Garรงons - This beautiful velvet dress is stunning! There is a fine line between creative and costume and this could have easily gone either way, but Stella wears it perfectly. Her hair, her earrings and her shoes make this a very high fashion. The big sleeves add drama, yet elegance. Absolutely stunning! QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

TRACEE ELLIS ROSS

Wearing: Comme de Garรงons - High Fashion! Another beauty in blue rocking this royal blue frock. The spike silver Christian Louboutin heels completed the look, making a very elegant, even conservative outfit, sexy. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

WIZ KHALIFA

Wearing: Thom Browne - Khalifa wore a black pipping tailcoat, paired with black high waisted pants and heeled white boots. He looks very handsome. One of the best dressed amongst the men at the Met. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

KENDALL JENNER

Wearing: Wearing: La Perla Couture - The lace thong! The model came out in this beautiful dress that was said to be made up of 85,000 crystals and no fabric. The sleeveless, backless piece seemed to just be draped perfectly over Jenner's body. It was definitely a show stopper, making her one of QueenTeam Media's favorite looks of the night! QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

MICHAEL B. JORDAN

Wearing: Ralph Lauren - From Newark to the Met! Newark native, Michael, wears the breasted shawl collar tartan tuxedo very well. Paired with his blue suede shoes, made for a great outfit.

QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

RITA ORA

Wearing: Custom Marchesa - This beautiful red gown had dimension and a great contrast of fabrics. With allover bias-cut ribbons and a cascading fishtail skirt, Rita had all eyes on her as she walked down the carpet, seeing how the ribbon perfectly hugged each of her curves. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

CARA DELEVIGNE

Wearing: Chanel and Christian Louboutin shoes - Shut it down! The details of whether or not her glam team is from outer space is still being investigated, but one thing is certain, she looks stunning! This silver number by Chanel is feminen, is fun and modern. Definitely a risk but Delevigne, in usual Delevigne fashion, embraced every inch of her new look. The bald head, silver paint, just accents the dress and really pulls the look together. Can we talk about the Christian Louboutin pointed heel! Beautiful. One of the night's best dressed. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

STELLA MAXWELL

Wearing: Custom H&M - Maxwell comes out in H&M, who showed up a lot last night, and she rocked it. She truly makes a statement with her semi- sheer beaded dress. You don't have to wear high fashion to look high fashion- supporting our modo here at QueenTeam Media! QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

LIU WEN

Wearing: Off-White - The Met Gala was heavily marked by these great contrasts designers were making. I love this look. It is fun, it is young, it is art! This dress makes a statement without having a veil covering her face or a Diana-long train. Simply fashion. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

BEST DRESSED AT THE MET GALA

AYEMLINE VALADE

Wearing: Marni - This man-suit is beautiful. The sky blue color, with the green undershirt, and the chain clutch, tie the look together. I love the contrast between the heavy metal chain of the clutch to the delicate mirror cut outs of the suit. QueenTeam Fashion Guru: Kevin Cruz

FASHION is always the highlight of any show.

Rest in Peace Charlie Murphy 1959 - 2017

Chappelle's Show star, comedy writer and comic Charlie Murphy, the older brother of Eddie Murphy, has died at age 57. Charlie passed away after battling leukemia, his rep told E! News Wednesday. "Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle and friend Charlie," his family said in a statement to E! News. "Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won't be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us. The performer was known for his appearances on Chappelle's Show, in which he played characters such as Buc Nasty and Rodney "Quills" Dinkin and also narrated the Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories segment. In one, he recalled a story about Prince, played by Dave Chappelle. Another featured Dave as Rick James and is considered one of the most iconic Chappelle's Show moments and made the series extremely popular.

An enduring fixture on Chappelle’s Show, the veteran film and TV actor Charlie Murphy was as real as they came.

Charlie Murphy was the perfect supporting actor in a show whose inescapable magnetism was often the direct product of its star, Dave Chappelle. Murphy’s lines, while initially few and far between, always hit. His delivery dripped with authenticity — expertly playing a tough guy, since he was legitimately a tough guy. And he was effortlessly comfortable in his own skin alongside Chappelle, the heir to black comedy. But it made sense, he was groomed for it. Because not only did he grow up next to his younger brother, Eddie, during his rise to superstardom during the 1980s, but he genuinely loved making people laugh. For two weeks in February of 2004, however, everything changed. For most people, the Rick James and Prince skits — titled “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories,” fall in the Rushmore of Chappelle sketches. They are classic, unquestionable works of art. But what is easy to forget: they aired back-to-back weeks, the first two Wednesdays of the month. And for those two weeks, everyone took a backseat to Charlie Murphy, including the two legendary comics that he spent his personal and professional life supporting — Chappelle and his brother Eddie. For this brief moment, Charlie was the funniest man alive.
