Blues, green, yellow. The ocean’s deep blue in late afternoon, soft hazy sky blue, rich teal in the still shady cover, timid new yellows in the buzzing meadow—summer colors. Our Verdant collection of linen knits makes good use of the season’s early palette. It also makes the most of simplicity; things pared down. Wear these pieces with your softest jeans, the ones that are frayed on the pockets. Take off your shoes. The emphasis here is on easy porch knitting, on relaxed shapes that skim the body, tidy trims on the edges, or no trim at all, a breath of lace on a back strap, a panel of slip stitches on a yoke. Nothing daunting, nothing to go wrong. Everything ready to slide onto the needles, then on to your body.

Pam

isabell kraemer Isabell Kraemer describes herself as “chaotic, sometimes nerve-wracking, tiny, cluttered with laughter lines, all-loving, creative, with never enough time to get all the ideas out of my head, always sketching, and a lover of all things related to fashion.” She lives in a small, medieval town in southwest Germany. Her aim is to design everyday items for modern knitters—casual with a little twist. She’s addicted to stripes and seamless construction. She doesn’t mind seaming, but likes the fit-as-you-go aspect of top-down knitting. website: owlsisters.blogspot.com ravelry: lilalu instagram: lilalu72

pam allen Pam Allen has worked as a knitwear designer, editor at Interweave Knits, and creative director at Classic Elite Yarns. In 2010 she launched Quince & Co with the idea of sourcing fiber and spinning yarns in the US. The company began with four classic wool yarns in 37 colors. Today the ‘basics’ line comes in 63 colors and Quince now makes and sells twelve yarns originating in the US and two organic linen yarns from Italy. And there’s always an idea in the works. website: quinceandco.com ravelry: pamallen instagram: quinceandco
