Rattlesnake Cove Recreation Area
Rattlesnake Cove has a swim beach, restroom facilities and a picnic area. It is located at 1422 Sunland Rd., Quincy.
Wanapum Lake
Although technically not in the Quncy Valley, this one is close enough to it that we could not leave it out. Located just a short drive southwest of George, Wanapum Lake is one of the many attractions of the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park in Vantage. A reservoir of the Columbia River, Wanapum Lake features more than 27,000 feet of shoreline, and offers both camping spots and day-use spots for a dip in the water.
Sand Hollow Recreation Area
Sand Hollow is located just outside of Vantage, about 20 miles south of Quincy. It has a designated swimming area, covered picnic shelters with grills, a restroom facility and 40 campsites.
When swimming in the river, remember that river levels can change without warning. Many of these places also require a Washington State Discover Pass.
For safety reasons, the Grant County Public Utility District recommends staying far back of the dams at Wanapum and Priest Rapids.
Furthermore, there are no lifeguards on duty at either Crescent Bar or the Cove.
