I AM
... a visual communicator (graphic designer) with almost 10 years of experience in visual communication. I was born In Koper, Slovenia on 29th of April 1980. I was always interested in all sorts of stuff. I started with visual art (painting), afterwards I became interested in film, animation, illustration and later on I realised that as a creative graphic designer I can include all the above mentioned disciplines in my work. During my professional expertise I mastered my dedication to details, let it be in editorial design, web design, illustration, animation, etc. I always pay a lot of attention to typographical rules, proper content distribution, hierarchy of information, etc. During all that years I got in contact with many different clients, with different approaches to work, different project leaders, chefs, colleagues at work, project teams, subcontractors (print shops, etc.), and that gave me enough confidence to not be afraid of any challenge. I find visual communication as a very important message deliverer. I always try to judge it with a critical eye - that’s why I am interested in socially responsible and responsive approach to most of the things I do. I am interested in sustain-ability in design. This is my main research topic of my Master degree at Academy of Fine Arts and design at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

»Na kratko: tranzicija je, kar se tiče privatizacije, zamišljena tako, da je vse, kar se je zgodilo, pravzaprav predvidljiv del programa. Kakor je bila zamišljena, tako se bo tudi iztekla. Govoriti o “napaki” na nek način pomeni zamegljevati osnoven namen. Ta megla pravzaprav omogoča, da se tudi danes na vprašanje ‘What is to be done?’ praktično, kot v telenoveli, odgovarja:
»Vsak kulturni akt, vreden tega imena, predrugači meje možnega. To lahko stori na zelo bučen način ali pa na način, ki je v svojem času komajda opazen, ki mu je šele kasneje mogoče izmeriti domet.« Moramo.

ABOUT Žive legende - Living legends are important and special eldery people, which dedicated their life to their work, occupation, passion. The project had some etnographical elements, but at the same time they are introduced in a more relaxed way. The project consisted of video portraits of each of them and black and white photo portraits. Than we produced the exhibition.

Dokumentarni portret tržaškega pisatelja Borisa Pahorja se osredotoča na odločilne trenutke, ki so gradili njegovo življenjsko izkušnjo in predstavljajo osrčje avtorjevega literarnega ustvarjanja. Zgodnji fašizem, izguba jezika, nemška delovna taborišča in zmeda v povojnem Trstu, so poleg ljubezni teme, h katerim se Pahor ves čas vrača. Dokumentarni film gradi pripoved o avtorju z besedo zgodovinarjev, pisateljskih kolegov, založnikov in prijateljev. Pahorja spremljamo od Trsta do Pariza, kjer je doživel prvo mednarodno priznanje, in odkrivamo dolgo ter zapleteno življenjsko pot velikega pričevalca dvajsetega stoletja. Il ritratto, nella forma di documentario televisivo, dello scrittore triestino Boris Pahor si concentra sui momenti cruciali che hanno caratterizzato la sua esperienza di vita e che rappresentano il fulcro della sua produzione letteraria. Il fascismo della prima ora, la perdita della lingua, i campi di lavoro coatto nazisti ed il caos della Trieste postbellica sono, oltre all’amore, i temi ai quali Pahor torna costantemente. La trama del documentario televisivo si dipana attraverso le testimonianze degli storici, dei colleghi dello scrittore, degli editori e dei suoi amici. ABOUT Memefest is an organization focused on critical view on global challenges - mainly in the field of visual communication and through visual communication. Every year we organize a global contest in three different categories. We developed a complex web portal which includes: - memefest blog - user profile (user can write blogs, posts on his own profile, upload projects, buiding his web with other users, etc.) - festival side (competition introduction, application form for uploading competition works, gallery of works, etc.)

FOOD DEMOCRACY MEMEFEST FRIENDLY COMPETITION 2013 2013

The theme of Memefest friendly competition 2013 was FOOD DEMOCRACY. I made this poster in collaboration with Oliver Vodeb, the founder of Memefest organization and a professor of Visual communication at Griffith College of Arts/University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He provided all the images and we made a lot of debates in the working process. The ingredients for this year dish was: - 2 kg of images with strong but at the same time open narration - 6 pieces of vernacular typography normally used in small local groceries - a pinch or two of supportive texts and an extra doze of imagination.

RESPONSE-ABILITY DEMONSTRATING RELEVANCE: MEMEFEST TRAVELING EXHIBITION 2010
ABOUT Memefest is an organization I am part of. Every year we organize an international so called Friendly competition. Every year we choose an imporatnt theme, which frustrate us - as humans. DEMONSTRATING RELEVANCE: RESPONSE-ABILITY je mednarodna razstava izbranih družbeno odzivnih vizualno-komunikacijskih del in kritičnih tekstov, ki so bila prijavljena na Memefestove prijateljske natečaje med leti 2002-2011. Vsebine in dela so predstavljena v različnih formatih in zahtevajo aktivno participacijo. Njihov namen ni ujeti pogleda obiskovalca-spektatorja, temveč ga skozi prakso gledanja emancipirati; ponuditi mu vzvod, da spregleda.

ABOUT KAŽIN was a little different magazine. i was collaborating with the magazine for eight years. I was artdirecting entire layout of the magazine. Every year I redesigned the layout. I decided that every cover will be illustrated. Through the years I collage, hand drawn illustration, vectors, and finally plasticine. Coven on the right focuses on the election of the candidate Zoran Jankovič as a Slovenian Prime Minister who become the winner as a big surprise. The Magazine was printed in the middle of December 2011. I think the metaphor of a present box was at the right place. The following of the political situation in Slovenia is quite complex, and difficult to explain here in this lines. NOT GOOD FOR SURE!

The cover on the left is based on slovenian politicians before the party elections. I tried to use a “sweet” metaphor. All the politicians are very good in building castles in clouds, with their sweet blablablas... how their program will make the society prosper. YEAH RIGHT!!?? So... every candy has his own flavor. So I tried to find out which politician matches with certain popular candy (some of them are from the past and known just in the ex Jugoslavian territory).
Cover on the bottom: Lobotomy This one is an interpretation of the world and national situation where the good thing is to damage even good brains. I can see a lot of embarrassment regarding our brains. Brains can be dangerous, brains can be an obstacle, brains are useless, brains are stupid, brains are and are not, Let’s demolish them!!!;)
