More than 100 Rhode Island preschoolers and a dozen well-known public officials, educators and community leaders created how-to books that will be on display at the Providence Children's Museum in January 2012. Deborah Gist, Rhode Island’s commissioner of education and co-chair of the Early Learning Council, wrote this book on how to do her job. Ready to Learn Providence, Making Learning Visible (a program out of Harvard University), and the Providence Children’s Museum collaborated in this project. Over a four-month period, 22 home- and center-based early-care educators met at Ready to Learn Providence to engage in discussions on observing and documenting the learning of young children, and making it more visible in the community.
