Remembering Cameron Boyce By Leanne S On July 6th, 2019, the world lost one of its brightest lights. Cameron Mica Boyce (best known for his roles in Descendants, Jessie and A Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything) passed away in his sleep due to an epileptic seizure. He is survived by his parents, Victor and Libby, and his sister, Maya. He also leaves behind many many fans, friends, coworkers, and family members, including his grandmother, Jo Ann, who is known and loved by the world. One of these co-workers mourning the death of Cameron Boyce is our very own Ross Lynch. Working for the same company brought the two stars together on many occasions. Through events, meetings and even a crossover episode, Ross and Cam were able to form a friendship. Just one day after Cameron’s passing, Ross shared his condolences on his instagram: “My condolences to the Boyce family. He was a light that made many lives brighter. I’m very saddened by his passing. RIP Cameron.”

So, along with Ross, The R5 Family Magazine would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the friends, family and fans of Cameron Boyce. Through his many charity projects and charismatic personality, he made the world a much brighter place. He will be missed dearly.

Who is Rydel’s new boyfriend? By: Geca

His name is Capron Funk and he was born on April 28th, 1993, which makes him 26 years old. He makes up half of the Funk Bros, who claim to be “doing every challenge, vlog, experiment, flip, scooter trick and crazy adventure” on their YouTube channel. He and his brother, Tyler, began as professional scooter riders, and now make all sorts of ridiculous videos. In Rydel’s “10-year celebration as a band” video, she added a short clip at the end that confirmed some suspicions as to her and Capron’s relationship. Capron was waiting outside the venue with a wooden sign that had “Girlfriend” written on it. Rydel jumped on him, giving him a long hug, while grinning from ear to ear, repeating “yes.”

The Driver Era

The Driver Era Album X Review By Jennifer

The Driver Era (formerly R5) offers a new set of music in their first official album as TDE, "Album X". Ross and Rocky Lynch's vocals blend well together in these new songs. After a couple of listens it's hard for me not to come back and play the whole album again, because so many of the songs are very catchy. The guys [Ross and Rocky] have put out a very new and different sound with this album, yet it is still nostaligic to their earlier days as R5 in my opinion. All of the songs have a distinct sound, but I personally think that 'Nobody Knows', 'San Francisco', and 'Afterglow' sound the most like R5's ol' vibe, although all of the songs do have their own The Driver Era feel. You really can't put justice on this album until you hear it for yourself, and I think that I'd give it a solid 8/10 stars. It really resonates new and unique, yet still manages to remind me of the days of R5 in all of the ways I, and the fans enjoy.

Rocky

Glass Half Full

By Leanne

We all know that Riker is an extraordinaire when it comes to liquor. Whether it's rum or wine, whiskey or vodka; Riker is no stranger to entertaining with alcohol. So, it would only make sense that he'd make a talk show with this theme.

In Glass Half Full, Riker invites a friend on to talk about anything from movies to music. They talk about their upcoming projects and what a day on the job in their industry looks like. Each episode is uploaded to YouTube and features a drink recipe in the description. Riker has featured friends such as Curt Mega, Olivia Holt and Grant Gustin on the show, whose episodes range anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour. If you are interested in cocktails, or you just simply love Riker Lynch, then Glass Half Full may be worth taking a listen to.

The Driver Era/R5 Locker Decor

By Leanne

Calendar Everybody can make use of a calendar at some point or another, so why not have one handy?! You can make a Driver Era or R5 personalized Calendar online or at a photo kiosk (found at many Walmarts, Walgreens, etc). Add magnets to the back so you can display it!

Picture Garland This simple DIY will make every locker look like tater chips compared to yours ;) Start with stringing string or twine (your choice) across your locker door. Then use mini clothespins to clip prints of your favorite TDE and R5 pictures to the twine/string.

Magnetic storage container This DIY is both cute and functional! Take an empty cereal or granola bar box and cut it to your desired size, then cover it with duct tape or paint. Finally, glue some magnets to the back and your favorite picture of the band on the front.

My mind says, no you're not good for me You're not good but my heart's made up on you

Oh my baby You look so sweet Won't you sit next to me It's all I need

All right'Cause even if we change we'll always be the same All night I promise if you stay we'll never fade away

Catch-All bin Take a simple bin that can be found at the dollar store and remove the lid. To continue with our theme, write your favorite R5 and TDE song lyrics across the bins. These become a perfect spot to put all of the smaller items that usually get lost in your locker.

See You Soon

By: Geca

People crowded around, making it hard to breath. Courtney looked up at him, studying his puppy eyes, his messy blond hair, his sad smile. He trailed a finger down her cheek, his right arm wrapping around her waist. She pressed herself closer, wishing she could stay here forever. She snaked her arms over his shoulders, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. Rocky smirked at her from over Ross’s shoulder, but she ignored him, turning her attention back to her boyfriend.

Riker was calling for everyone’s attention, but Ross kept his eyes on her. She gave him a quick peck on the lips. Once, twice. She didn’t want him to go. He sighed, giving her one last squeeze, dropping his arms and taking a step back. “See you soon.” He winked. She knew it was for her sake. “See you soon.” Courtney waved as the whole troop walked away, off to begin their tour. Her hand slipped back to her side as she took a deep breath to steady herself. She turned to go. She’d see him soon. Just a few more months and they’d be back together.
