The Perfect R5 Summer Bash By: Geca
Food: • Cold pizza! Like the song, right? Just kidding, but pizza is always an easy, and, all around, favorite option for a delicious party meal. • Ice-cream… with cherries on top (you know, because they’re dope, right?) The perfect dessert for chilling and cooling off by the pool as you laugh at the stupid R5 jokes we will forever miss. • Starbucks? We all need our caffeine, and, honestly, a double shot just makes things look up.
Activities: • Music (of course). Turn that radio up and let it get LOUD! Let’s get R5’s voices stuck in our heads like cement, because, admit it, we all actually love it. • A Bonfire The perfect spot to start “hooking up” and, besides, what’s a summer bash without the smores? • A piñata. Who doesn’t love to bash in the head of some odd shaped cardboard box? And what’s wrong with the way she says banana?
• A Silent Movie A great source of entertainment, but also let’s the conversation continue flowing, and, don’t forget, we need to help Ross find those words… • Water Guns Draw your guns and show them who they should be running from. Draw some lines and cross for fun. Make it an all-out war- losers get thrown in the pool? • Pictures, pictures, and more pictures! Selfies, polaroids, family portraitsthey’re our memories frozen on a simple piece of paper, waiting for us to take them out on a rainy day and relive our bittersweet past, so be sure to take lots of them.

R5 inspired DIYs to make your summer ROCKIN'
After choosing your favorite R5 lyrics, write them on clean rocks using a sharpie. Once you like how the rock looks, coat in Mod Podge. Let dry and display them around your living spaces or utilize them as paper weights.
R5's Lyrics Rocks
Take your "R5 colored" ribbon and tie it to the toe part of the sandal's strap. Continue to wrap the ribbon around the strap until you reach the end. Secure the ribbon with another knot and some glue. There should be plenty of ribbon left to add some style to your legs as well. Add a charm (as seen in the picture) if desired.
Sometime Last Night Sandals
Take a 20x4 inch piece of faux leather or any color (suggestion: use a color from R5's Sometime Last Night album cover). Cut the leather to make fringes, cut the fringes off of 5 inches to create a tail. Attach a smaller strip of leather with a key ring to the "fringed side" (see diagram). Roll the leather around the small strip to make a tassel using hot glue to secure the leather as you go. Purchase a frame key chain and place your favorite picture of the band inside.

Throwback to R5's Summer Vacations By Jennifer R5 may not be R5 anymore, but the Lynch siblings have had an array of wonderful summer adventures in their past, and it wouldn't hurt to pull them out again and take a nostalgic look. One Summer vacation that may or may not come to your mind when you think of R5, is when Ross went to Puerto Rico to film the Teen Beach Movies with Maia Mitchell and other co-stars. Both movies in the series were filmed there so the footage looked authentic. It was honestly a great location for the movie, and it fits perfectly.

Another set of vacations might be pretty obvious, but they were a great highlight for R5. Their tours! They've been on various tours launching different albums of theirs, and some of them happened to have been in the summer, which means that they got to travel all around the US and the rest of the world for their summer vacations! They've been to many major cities throughout the previous summers that have come and gone, and they sure loved getting into their performances with the fans.

Rydel: Rock Your Life By: Ashley Throwback It has been three years since Rydel published her own limited-edition magazine entitled “Rydel: Rock Your Life”. Inside, you would find “every girl’s guide to fashion, fitness, friends, fun (and everything else!) The magazine was created in partnership with Girls’ Life magazine and was available for purchase from July 10, 2015-October 12, 2015. With the launch of this magazine, Rydel had a Barnes & Noble Book and CD Signing Tour that mostly followed where R5 would be preforming their Sometime Last Night show. The magazine was the ultimate guide to everything under the sun that a girl could need advice on. Included in the magazine were tips on fashion, beauty, besties, guys, family ties, dreaming big, fitness, parties, your bedroom, crafts and travel. Is there anything that Rydel didn’t give advice on? One of my favorite pages in the magazine was the one entitled “The Truth About Rydellington” because this magazine came out only a few months after R5’s “All Day, All Night” Documentary, in which they revealed their relationship to the world. This page was just what the R5 Family needed at the time: an explanation to Rydellington and what’s been going on! She wrote about a few stories that happened with her and Ellington before they got together and then their first date. What was your favorite spread from the magazine? Tweet us and let us know!
