Laser Cutting Material Used - 2mm Plywood Time Taken - 15 minutes objective The goal of this project is to work with the effeciencies of the laser cutting machine, which has the capacity to make fast precision cuts in repetition.Taking this effeciency one stup further, the lamp should also be able to be constructed qucikly ans easily, allowing for mass production and cost effective construction.
4
Rasheed Nasser result With these parameters in mind,we tested the maximum bending capacity of the materia in unision with reliable and easy to use connections. While the key lock system, for example was neat system,it does have the propensity to fail under excessive pressure. As an alternative, the nature of the timber(to return straight) was used to interlock the ribs around and within the the structural guiding plates. The lamp has tried to maximise the amount of curve that can be obtained on a single piece by cutting against the grain. In this way doube curves were achieved, which (now dry) are able to hold their form. With this design,we managed to construct to lamps within 15 minutes.

3D Printing 3D printing or additive manufacturng is a process of making three dimensional solid objects ftom a digital file.
The creation of 3D printed objects is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by layering down succesive layers of material until the object is created Each of these layers can be seen as a thiny sliced horizontal cross section of the eventual object. dRagon’s egg For this project, the 3D printer was used to create a delicate shroud around the entirety of the globe to softly diffuse the ligh. The design features simplistic repetition of a spiraling extruded pentagon from around the face of the egg shaped shroud. The elegan simplicity of this form offers the oppurtunity to manipulate the direction of the light through the thickness of the material to create varying transperencies.

Cnc Milling CNC milling is a specific form of computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining. Milling itself is a machining process similar to drilling and cutting and able to achieve many of the operations performed by cutting and drilling machines, milling uses a rotating cylindrical cutting tool.
Concept The concept to map the innate colour variations of metamorphic stone was used to manipulate the dense nature of the Corinan base in order to establish a stylised organicism.
This lamp has been designed, through the use of a pattern language, to take advantage of the strengths and limitations of the CNC machine. This design illuminates the hard edges of the Corian, through the use of sequential layering and manipulation of light.

Intelligent Cities Rio De Janeiro
Rasheed Nasser
Intelligent Cities Rio De Janeiro This studio works under the principle that this new conceptual space requires is emancipating us from the notion of ``generic information´´ in order to move us towards a field characterised by paying big attention to the very``specific experience´´.A specificity that is being developed in an hyperexpanded present,in which past and future have collapsed and blurred our capacity to think beyond the present.
The Diffused Metroplolis The diffused metropolis is a scientific model for megacities like Rio de Janeiro that are projected to be the most populated cities of the worlds’s largest economies by the year 2050. The Project aims at recreating urban centripheries in order to have a more distributed economic development and sustenance in the urban fabric. The aim of the project is to create a futuristic midtown in the North Central district of Rio de Janeiro in order to normalise urban densities, strengthen the suburban economy, renaturalise the concrete megalopolis, devise hyperconnected multi transit systems and nurture cohesive societies. The Project is based on an extensive research, of the data centric future city, which translates into self defined concepts such as the WORMHOLE concept of a futuristic financial centre , the SUPERLOOPS and the HYPERPODS for transportation, the self sufficient , threat free , economically stable FAVELAS OF FORTITUDE, and the perception of DATA as the most important resource of the planet. This research is then realised into a multidimensional urban intervention which can be replicated into more such urban centripheries each with distinctive visions for the Urban fabric . The distribution of such urban centres across the peripheries in the city brings into the creation , the diffused metropolis.

Zap Zooper „The Zap-Zooper” is a drawing machine that uses sound waves to draw and creates different line types through different frequencies. This machine is a tool for mapping based on the attractor and repellent points in public space. ”The Kid” is the agent of the Zap-Zooper. He responses to the sound frequencies that come from the speaker and behaves through different parameters. These are Frequency, Volume, Pen Holder Geometry, Material. Speaker is located in the center of the board and there are some vibration dampers between the aluminium sheet and the sub-woofer box. With this dampers, there are two more parameters coming in to the calculation which are slope and non-vibrating spots. The Kid is trying to go to non vibrating points but at the same time trying to avoid them because of the slope. So this drawing is a result of that war between the slope and 20
the vibration.

The removal of cars from certain streets in Barcelona with the Superblocks project leaves the squares to the pedestrians as a void, a space without designated functions and circulation. The square formed at the junction of Carrer de Sicilia and Carrer de la Industria, which has

The project aims to handle the issue by mapping the possible paths of school kids, to and from the school, also taking into account of the public. The positive space emerging from the paths, the children’s define the boundaries of different types of circulation from different location on the block which leaves behind negative spaces which are static, as opposed to the dynamic circulation paths. These negative spaces can be used as public gathering points, which in architectural terms can be simplified into an interactive music park that is defined by the students entry and exit, (to and from respectively) from the schools.

The activated areas acts like an attactor point where in the data of the students daily inflow and outflow are taken into consideration from the three input points which being the high school, primary school and the kindergarten defining it through the urban intervention and creativing event spaces. The event spaces can propose a new spots for interaction and socializing through the experience of being a street musician.
