JereMy sMith While attending the university of Memphis to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in health & sport science and minor in sociology, Jeremy volunteered his time as a mentor at the samelson Branch of BGCM. he soon became part of the part-time then full time staff, serving as the program Director for the sycamore View Branch. Jeremy’s goal is to continue to grow membership and introduce some new programs in the Club. in the future he aspires to be a Club executive Director and eventually a higher executive to make his daughter Julianna proud.

DeMario Byers moved to Memphis at an early age and graduated from frayser high. he received his bachelors degree in psychology from Victory university, graduating with honors. DeMario is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Victory university in pursuit of a Masters degree in psychology and professional Counseling. for ten years DeMario has helped found, fund and direct various youth programs such as hopes and hoops basketball training camp and GyM (GoD’s young Men) Ministries. for two years DeMario worked closely with several schools in the Whitehaven area teaching conflict resolution and serving as a mentor while operating and directing an after school program for at risk youth. DeMario has also coached basketball for different aau teams throughout the city as well as coaching middle school basketball at Grace st. luke. he joined the Boys & Girls Clubs in 2013 and currently serves as the program Director at the porter Goodwill Branch.
