Ohio Wildlife Corridor Brand Indentity

Page 1

The inspiration for this project came from the INSPIRATION non-profit, environmental FOR BRANDING organization Western IDENTITY Wildlife Corridor, based PROGRAM in Ohio. This branding identity program uses the underlying concepts of a protection and preservation group revamped with modern day aesthetics.

Mission Ohio Wildlife Corridor’s PROTECTING mission is to protect AND PRESERVING the scenic beauty and THE OHIO RIVER natural resources of the CORRIDOR Ohio River Valley through direct land protection and through the promotion of responsible land use. Green space enhances the quality of life for people in the community by helping to remove pollutants from the air and water as well as increasing property values of land near green belts. To fulfill our mission, WWC has worked since 1992 to preserve and restore the greenway corridor of wooded hillsides along the Ohio River from the Mill Creek near downtown Cincinnati to the Great Miami River bordering Indiana.

CREATION

NATURE HOLDS THE KEY TO OUR AESTHETIC INTELLECTUAL COGNITIVE AND EVEN SPIRITUAL SATISFACTION. E. O. WILSON

Visual Mark Carrying out these ideals of protection and preservation of natural resources and scenic beauty, this visual mark aims to encompass all aspects of nature. The left antler represents fauna, which stands for animals of a particular region. This promotes animal protection and local responsibility. The right leaf symbolizes flora, in Greek UNIFICATION mythology known as the OF FLORA goddess of flowering plants. AND FAUNA This encourages preservative land use and admiration for imperfect, man-made beauty. Its “u formation seamlessly unifies the two entities together creating an aesthetic brand that further advances its mission of conservation.

Color Signature SYMBOL OF PROSPERITY FRESHNESS AND PROGRESS

Color choice for this signature provokes a very traditional “earthy feel with a classic green, while staying modern and up-todate through a strong black and white presence. Avenir, a linear sans serif, that is not purely geometric, is added to contribute natural imperfections. The brand Ohio Wildlife Corridor is presented in block text to contrast the organic and delicate mark. Wildlife is in Avenir Black (versus Avenir Medium) to add emphasis to the point of cause.
