Message from JDTAN's Chairman March 2022 Education Summit was a milestone as it was Jamaica Diaspora Taskforce Action Network’s (JDTAN) first face-to-face event since spring 2019. If you missed the faceto-face ebony, this a made for you. Under the theme, "Pushing Forward with Resilience, Inclusion, Capacity, Equity." We are happy to bring experts from Jamaica, and from various school systems across Diaspora.
LEO GILLING JDTAN CHAIRMAN
With the worst portion of the COVID19 pandemic behind us, it is time for us to start preparing for the future in education. Whatever the future holds, JDTAN must begin creating a future that aligns with the best practices in education, to meet the needs of children in Jamaica. I wish to welcome all educators; teachers, administrators, and practitioners; from all levels of the Jamaican education system. This opportunity is opened to offer professional instructions and development workshops, and panel discussions, to engage educators and help prepare them for the future of education in Jamaica. The collective of the five Jamaica Diaspora Education Task Forces (arms of the JDTAN) is hosting their upcoming Virtual Education Summit on August 8-9, 2022. I congratulate Dr. Noel Gordon, Dr. Sherian Demetrius, and Ms. Andrea Thomas, who chaired the planning committee for this virtual session. Well done! It is essential to note; however, that several other key individuals from the diaspora, and from the Jamaican educational system, collaborated on a very effective action plan. We wish to thank them all for their invaluable contribution to advancement in the sector. I wish you all the very best on the very worthy project!
