The Creation of Man by Prometheus Prometheus, the Thief of Fire had been spared imprisonment in Tartarus for not helping the other Titans in the fight against the Olympians. He was given the task of creating man.
The theory behind this is that Prometheus created man out of mud and Athena breathed life into them. Prometheus was punished by the other Titans and a bird would eat his liver out every day, even though it grew back.

I am a very important goddess of many things. I am the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. But I am most specifically known for my strategic skill in warfare and I am often portrayed as companion of heroes and I am the patron goddess of heroic endeavour. I was born from Zeus after he experienced a huge headache and I sprang fully grown and in armour from his forehead. I have no mother sadly, but one of the most
commonly cited stories is that my father Zeus laid with Metis, the goddess of crafty thought and wisdom. My father then swallowed her whole as he feared she will give birth to a child more powerful than him because of a prophecy.

Ever since the battle of the gods had ended Hermes has felt the need to take a break and go on a vacation, this is a story of his travels. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/Colosseum_in_Rome%2C_Italy_-_April_2007.jpg
https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/01/da/9b/04/acropolis-up-close.jpg
This is Hermes in Italy, he started his journey in Rome and onward to Greece. In Rome he had visited the Colosseum. He was quite impressed by what the Romans had created, although he naturally felt compelled to not care since the Romans were his enemies. Hermes later traveled to Athens, Greece. He’d obviously been here before to help Athena keep her Olive Tree from dying… Gods know if she’ll be able to keep that thing alive. Hermes has later visited the Parthenon, which he thought was a little too extravagant for someone of Athena’s stature. An Olive Tree for a enormous monument? What a deal.
https://thescript.thetake.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/brandenburg-gat e.jpg
Next, Hermes has visited Berlin, the capital of Germany. He had never seen this place before, the people seemed extremely... strange. They ate weird food items called sausages, they’re essentially animal guts stuffed inside an intestine, or at least that’s what it tasted like at the local McDonald’s. Bratwursts, marvelous name right? Certainly tasted like the worst thing to him.
http://img.allw.mn/content/travel/2011/08/t our-eiffel-paris-912.jpg
Finally. Hermes had arrived at Paris, France. They spoke a weird language that sounded like they were choking on their own saliva. Also had an enormous monument… He described it as enormous, it was miniscule compared to the size of his staff when he wasn’t masked as a mortal.
The trip to Paris had concluded Hermes’ vacation around Europe, after all he did need a break from running around Mt. Olympus delivering messages to gods who were too lazy to do it themselves.

Ask Aphrodite... Hello world, you’ve been asking, so I’m going to deliver some more relationship advice for those in need. You can ask me anything regarding relationships or beauty tips. As the goddess of all of those things, I’m sure it’s safe to say I know best. So without any further delay… Let’s get to the gossip! Dear Aphrodite, I’ve been friends with this guy for awhile now and we’ve gotten pretty close over the years. I really want to ask him out on a date, but he has a girlfriend. I want to tell him how I feel, but I don’t want to ruin our friendship. What should I do? -Amanda Dear Amanda, I think that he seems to think of you as more of a friend than a girlfriend. You two have been in the friend zone with each other for so long, that he just can’t picture you as anything else. You need to show him that you can be more than just a friend. When I wanted more attention from my husband Hephaestus, I started spending more time with Ares. That sure got his attention. -Aphrodite Dear Aphrodite, I need a date for prom, but everyone I’ve asked so far has turned me down. How can I get someone to say yes? I don’t want to go alone.
Photo by: Teah Marks Dear Jackie, You seem to doubt yourself. Don’t forget to project confidence because it’s hard for people to appreciate how amazing you are if you don’t appreciate yourself. It also doesn’t hurt to have a magic girdle (belt) that makes you irresistible, but that’s just me. If you’ve asked everyone and still no luck, just go with a group of friends. The more the merrier, and you can all hang out at dinner before and maybe even have a sleepover after. Sometimes you just have to make the most out of it, but I think you have what it takes to make it work.
- Jackie -Aphrodite That’s it for today, but if you want to ask me anything just find a dove, swan, or sparrow, and give them the message to take to me. Once my holy birds deliver the message, I will answer it and have them fly it back to you in about a week. The best stories will be featured in my column. If you keep asking, I’ll keep answering, See you in the next issue of Mythology Magazine for more of the great gossip.

The 12 Labors of Hercules Chris The 12 labours. Britannica Image Quest
1 The Nemean Lion
2 The Lernean Hydra
The first task of Hercules’s mission was to set out to slay an invulnerable lion and bring back the skin to King Eurystheus. When Hercules met with the lion in Nemea, he began to wrestle with the lion because the lion was impenetrable by cuts. He began to choke the lion to death with his strong arms. Hercules is seen in many pictures wearing the lion skin because he took the claw of the lion and cut out the skin and now wears it over his armor (Perseus).
A hydra in Lerna would often terrorize the area. Hercules set out with Iolaus, a trusted friend and skilled warrior. They entered near the cave and Hercules began to shoot flaming arrows to lure the Hydra out of the cave. The hydra had many heads and would regenerate them if they were to be cut off. When Hercules bashed a head with a club, Iolaus would take a torch and burn thee heads so they couldn’t regenerate. Once 8 of the 9 heads were destroyed, Hercules cut off the final immortal head and put a huge rock on top of it to finally destroy the beast. Then Heracles dipped his arrows in the venomous blood of the hydra (Perseus).
3 The Ceryneian Deer
4 The Erymanthian Boar
KIng Eurystheus ordered Hercules to go and bring back the hide of Diana’s special pet deer. It had hoofs of bronze and horns of gold. Since it was Diana’s special deer, he couldn’t kill or hurt the deer. He chased it for a year and eventually shot it.. On his way back to the king, Hercules was met by Diana and she was very angry. He told her what had happened and how he was just following the oracles orders. Diana then let go of her anger and healed the deer. Hercules continued to Mycenae and returned the deer alive (Perseus).
Hercules was ordered to go and bring back the Erymanthian boar alive which had been terrorizing the people by the mountain. On his trip up the mountain, he met with a centaur named Pholus, and drank his wine. When he did this, centaurs from the mountain came to kill him. Hercules came through in the clutch and killed them all. He then found the boar and began to chase it until it grew dreary. When the boar was tired, he trapped the boar in a net and carried it to Mycenae (Perseus).
5 The Augean Stables
6 The Stymphalian Birds
King Eurystheus ordered Hercules to clean the Augean Stables. And to make it a little more difficult, he had to do it in one day. There was many cattle in the stables so it was going to be a dirty and laborious job. HErcules went to King Augeas who owned the stables and made an offer; he would clean the stables in a single day for 1/10 of his cattle. The king agreed and Hercules went to work. He put a hole in the wall of the stable, dug two wide trenches and connected them to 2 rivers. He directed the course of the rivers to flow through the stables and made the river flush through the stables, rinsing out the entire stable. The king found out that King Eurystheus was behind this and denied paying Hercules.
Hercules was ordered to get rid of the flock of birds at a lake near the town of Stymphalia. Athena helped him out by giving him bronze Krotalas which were loud noise clappers. These birds were vicious man-eating birds, so he had to be careful. He then used the clappers, which caused the birds to take flight. Once in the air, Hercules took a bow and arrow and began to shoot the birds while they were in the air.
7 The Cretan Bull In Crete, a king named Minos ruled over the region. The people there were found of a sport called bull-leaping, in which they got launched from the horns of a bull. Poseidon sent a bull there in which the queen fell in love with, and gave birth to the minotaur. The minotaur was put in a labyrinth underneath the palace and was fed victims of Athens. Hercules easily defeated the bull by throwing git around. He then bought it back to King Eurystheus where he let it roam free in Greece.
8 Horses of Diomedes Diomedes was the king of the Bristones and had man eating horses. King Eurystheus ordered Hercules to bring the horses back to Mycenae. While capturing the horses, the Bristones fought back while a trusted friend named Abderus took watch of the horses. The horses later killed the man, yet Hercules was able to take them back to Mycenae where King Eurystheus set them free. They eventually made their way to Mt. lyous, where wild beasts killed them all.
10 The Cattle of Geryon King Eurystheus ordered Hercules to go to the end of the world and retrieve the cattle of a monster named Greyon. The cattle was guarded by Cerberus’s brother named Orthus. He killed Orthus with his club and then shot an arrow at Greyon, which killed him. The cattle were tough to bring back, and one bull escaped and was found by the ruler Eryx. Hercules beat him with his club and took the bull back with the herd. However, Hera cam and scattered the cattle across the land, and Hercules had to retrieve each one of them once again.
11 The Apples of Hesperides The golden apples were a prized possession of Hera, and was guarded by a 100 headed dragon and the Hesperides, whom were nymphs. It took him a long time to find the garden because he didn’t know where it was. Hercules saved Prometheus from an eagle eating his liver, so Prometheus told him where the apples were. Hercules had to hold the World on his soldiers while Atlas retrieved the apples. He then brought the apples to Eurystheus. Not much later Athena took the apples and returned them to the Gods.

Hermes Profile By Amy Erpenbeck
(Haklai,Yeir) Here is a statue of Hermes in a museum today.
Hermes, the god of trade, travelers, thieves, rodes, merchants, and athletics. He guided people's souls to the underworld. Hermes was a cunning and quick acting person and that is how he got his skill of being a messenger. His father was Zeus, his mother was Maia, and was one of the seven Pleiades. He found joy and amusement in tricking the other gods. He could always play innocent when he did something wrong. Hermes greatest ability is to lie and seduce using his words and he usually played this part in many myths. The myths that he can be found in is the Odysseus, Pandora, and the myth with Apollo and his stolen cattle.
(Caduceus)
This is Hermes Caduceus that he gained his first day of birth. It’s his sacred symbol.
Hermes always has an image to him. Which is him wearing a winged hat and winged sandals. The reasoning behind this image is because this is how he presented himself to Perseus when he helped the hero kill Medusa, Athena assisted him. Exclusive Interviews on Medusa’s Death
Interviewer: Ms. Malliá, what are your experiences as Medusa’s only hair dresser?
Interviewer: Perseus, what can you tell us about the night you killed Medusa?
Ms. Malliá: Well, I'll tell you what, she used to have great hair. She would come in once a week for a shampoo and after I was done with it, it was shining. One day, she came in with a towel over her hair, insisting that it had turned into a pile of snakes. She was all worked up and seemed to think that it was my new conditioner. Anyways, I sent her on her way. My customers were starting to turn to stone.
Perseus: “What can I say? It’s what I do, being a demi-god and all. She didn’t even stand a chance against me. I charged right in there fearlessly and killed Medusa with a single flick of the sword.”
Interviewer: Ms. Sthenno, Ms. Euryale, how do you feel about your sister? Sthenno: Ugh, don’t get me started on her. She was always so bratty and spoiled. “Oh, look at me! Look how pretty I am! Feel my hair!” I laughed the day Athena turned her into that monster. She was even uglier than we were. Euryale: Medusa wasn’t as bad as Sthenno made her out. Sometimes she could get a little wound-up, but we were still family. It’s a shame that Perseus had to kill her. We chased him for a while, but he never caught his scent.
Interviewer: And what do you say to those who said you were invisible the whole time and used Athena’s shield as a mirror? Perseus: Pffft! Where did you get that from, Info Wars? I am the son of Zeus. I’m basically considered a god in these parts. Interviewer: What prompted you to embark on the journey to kill Medusa? Perseus: Well you see, it all started when Polydectes wanted a gift from me that I didn’t have. Being an honorable demigod and all, I offered him whatever gift he desired. He asked for the head of Medusa, and I delivered it to him no problem… if by deliver you mean turn him and his entire court into stone.
Exclusive Interviews on Medusa’s Death Interviewer: Athena, now that Medusa is dead, do you regret turning her into that monster? Athena: Are you kidding? After I caught her and Poseidon interloping in my temple? She got what she deserved and much more. Have you forgotten that I was the one who gave Perseus the shield? Interviewer: Are Perseus's claims that this was a solo endeavor true? Athena: Do you seriously think that dolt could do anything by himself? We gods practically had to hold his hand. I lent him the bronze shield, Hades gave him the Helm of Invisibility, and Hermes lent him his winged sandals. Plus we told him where to go and how to kill her. It was such a dangerous task that Perseus was the only one that would agree to it.
