TREND ALERT 1
DRAPING The New Contour
What is draping and how is it done? Draping your blush gives your face a sculpted glow using blush as opposed to a dark contouring products. The result is a softer, fresher approach to definition. While you may not of heard of the name before, draping isn't a new technique. It was first made famous in the 60s and 70s by legendary makeup artist, Way Bandy, who helped paint some of decade's most famous faces, from Cher to Diana Ross. He embraced the concept of color glow as a way of bringing out the natural 'drape' of the face, Four ways to drape: :1. Blend two shades of blush together, then place along the high point of the cheekbones as opposed to the apples. Blend along the length of the cheekbone, jawline, and side of the neck. For a more editorial look, you can drape from the eye to the temple. 2. Sculpt: Using a deeper shade of blush, apply it just below the apples of the cheeks; lower on the face so it counter balances roundness and creates an oval shape. Then, swirl the lighter shade on top and blend the edges

3. Voluminize: Blending both shades together, smile and swirl the blush on the apples of the cheeks, then blend. (of all the techniques, this will give you the most subtle, natural look.) 4. Advanced/Balanced: Blend your shade of choice over the peak of the brow at the temples, bridge of the nose, tip of the chin, and along the sides of neck near the ear lobes and blend blend blend!

80s Inspired Blush Technique in 4 Easy Steps
1.To start, you will need two members of your blush collection in a dark shade for sculpting and a lighter shade for blending. The colors don't have to be in the same family. 2. First, apply the deeper blush in a straight line along the hollows of the cheeks, concentrating the color near the ear and blending it forward, where you would normally contour. 3. Next, apply the lighter blush above your contour to blend and soften the look. 4. For an extra glow, finish off your newly carved cheekbones with a dose of highlighter.

GLOW ON FOR THE GIRL ON THE GO IN THE SPOTLIGHT
GLOW ON THE GO! Take a break from the threestep method of shading, blushing and highlighting you learned in Contouring 101: The prettiest skin this fall/winter is neither highly reflective nor too mattified; there is just a little shine where there's normally shine and a pink flush where there should be flush. Arm yourself with blush, a tinted lip balm and mascara and your look is done in three minutes flat.

gloMinerals SMOKEY EYE KIT is one of my favorite palettes when creating a "dreamy" eye look. It gives a feeling of warmth and sunshine. To create a bronze smokey eye follow these simple steps: Step 1) Apply the base color* from lid to brow. Step 2) Apply the lid color on top of the lid from lash line to brow bone.

Did You Know? I always thought that "The Dog Days of Summer" were those summer days that even dogs would lie around on the asphalt, panting for water because it was so horribly hot. Many people today use the phrase to mean something like that—but originally, the phrase actually had nothing to do with dogs or even with the lazy days of summer. Instead, it turns out," the dog days" refer to the dog star, Sirius, and its position in the heavens. To the Greeks and Romans, the “dog days” occurred around the day when Sirius appeared to rise just before the sun, in late July. They referred to these days as the hottest time of the year, a period that could bring fever, or even catastrophe. People were really superstitious back then, so they feared this time of the year. The "Dog days of Summer" are from July 3 and August 11. We can now say goodbye to "the Dog Days of Summer"!
