CONCEPT
Sky & Under is a collective space that aims to promote the concept of wellness through and for nature, enhancing and refreshing the quality of life for the individual, community, and greater environment. We’ve centered our goals around a back-to-basics approach, carrying out a simple lifestyle in harmony with nature. In order to provide resources for this way of life, we've incorporated a nature-inspired color palette, clean materials, as well as organic products. Through this, we hope to demonstrate that wellness can be developed from all things beneath the sky, thus offering the means to a more beautiful, healthy, and sustainable life.

BUILDING SECTION
CONTEXT
Here at Ravel, we seek to enrich your space and mind through our hand-crafted textiles, as well as the process of preserving the everlasting beauty of the Navajo weaving tradition.
To further accentuate the ample amounts of comfort and culture embedded in the art, we've taken the classic southwestern styles popular to Arizona, and placed a modern interpretation with an industrial twist.
SITE ANALYSIS
Located in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona, the site selection faces south towards the main road, with its nearest neighbors being a coffee shop, local boutique, and various eateries. The orientation of the building and structure stands south-facing to maximize daylighting.
PROCESS

RENDERINGS
The Jenkins Family enjoy reading, watching TV, and cooking together. Therefore, the spaces are designed with many reading areas. The kitchen is a spacious main attraction because of their love of cooking and entertaining. Lastly there is a living room in the back for the family to com together and watch TV in a more private area.
The entrance of the home has exposed exterior brick, a newer fireplace, and a reading nook for people to utilize. This space is also used a lot for big family dinners.
Through this design, the Jenkins family is able to live functionally and create their ideal lifestyle.
ADDITION UNIT
The Jenkins family decided to add an additional unit for their grandmother to live in. The additional unit includes a kitchenette, bedroom, ADA bathroom, and a desk. There is also a side yard for the grandmother to have her own personal outdoor space and area to read.
